Things you NEED in the parks

Actually INSIDE the parks????--very little!!!

Cash, credit card, AP and photo i.d. NO cell phone!

I can't imagine schlepping all the stuff that others do.....

All of you who don't take phones in the parks...do you remember your FP and ADR times and reservation numbers (just in case) or write them on something to carry with you?

Two more words: cargo shorts.

Works great if you are a guy but women's cargo shorts are a joke. The pockets are so shallow you can't even fit a cell phone in. I have been known to wear little boy cargo shorts but they kind of droop in the crotch.

Regarding cooling towels - We took Frogg Toggs in August and I found that they got warm really quickly. They would be cool when we wet them at our townhouse, but they took on the air temperature in about 20 minutes.

We found this to be true as well if we wrung them out. Then we tried keeping them very wet, like just squeezed enough so they wouldn't drip. We weren't cool and fresh as daisies, but they helped. We had partially frozen water bottles with us and we would periodically pour some cold water on the towels. Plus the misting fans. And Kali River Rapids. :)

We have two types. Our "we are bringing the stroller and going all day" packing list and our "fly by the seat of our pants" packing list.

We buy Disney ponchos, always, whenever needed. Once we've bought them, we do tote those suckers around in a bag. Last time we only needed them on the last day :) But they didn't stick to us like wet garbage bags, so it was worth every penny.

Ok..when we have the stroller we pack: ID, magic bands, camera, booboo kit (alcohol wipes, bandaids of various sizes, blister stickers), water bottles for everyone, a Mio water flavor (florida water is ehhhh), change of clothes (stick on the bottom of the stroller), a towel (kids always find water features to play in), hair brush (all day we have an ADR somewhere, we learned this the hard way searching the WL gift shop for a hair brush before our ressie lol), hair elastics, portable battery charger (my iphone is on the downfall and doesn't stay charged), snacks for in line (fruit snacks, granola bar, whatever else from our grocery order), sunscreen, baby wipes, autograph books and sharpies, ziploc bag for wet rides, some cash, pins for trading, I'm sure there's more I'm missing

When we just go by seat of our pants I have a small cross body bag: some cash, batter charger, ziploc, magic bands, usually my camera, one bottle of water we will share and refill, a couple of small snacks (one DD is hypoglycemic).

For parties or a few hours we go bagless. I stick some cash in my pocket, we all wear our own magicbands, and a bandaid or two and my phone. That's it. We will do this for half the time on our upcoming trip.

Just curious. Many are mentioning ID or a Driver's License. What do you use this for?

My personal reasoning is to always have ID on me. In case of an emergency, to prove I share the same name as my children, if I pass out and no one knows who I am, if I need to prove who I am for a purchase or pick up, to use my CC sometimes you are asked for proof you are the card holder, basically so anyone can identify me very quickly in any given situation. Oh also because I am Canadian, if I needed to use my medical insurance I would need to show it as well.

Sunscreen, protein bars, hand sanitizer, sunglasses, phone, extra phone battery if we are going for a long day.

My favorite are WetOnes in the individual packets. I use them for hands before we eat anything (we try to wash at a bathroom too). And I also use them to give the QS tables a quick wipe down. Also good for wiping chocolate off of hands and stuff like that.

A must have...blister pads for your wee toes. Nothing worse than a blister!

I carry what fits in my pockets...phone, ID, Disney Visa, ~$20 cash, lip gloss, a few tissues, 2 bandaids, and a cheap rain poncho. That's about it. I used to carry our insurance cards as well but now I just took a picture of those and have it on my phone. If I need anything that I don't have, I'll just buy it in the parks. The first aid stations give out simple first aid items for free and almost every gift shop sells travel packs of basic OTC meds -- if they aren't out on a display, just ask for them as they are probably just behind the counter or in a drawer.

For some reason, I was asked to show ID every time I used my Disney Visa card in the parks this past June. I don't ever remember having to show it before, but I was glad I had it with me.

Small tube of sunscreen, wallet, phone, chapstick, 2-3 bandaids - fits into my Dooney and Bourke crossbody bag. Sunglasses on my head. Magic band (or two) on my wrist. Good to go!

This is what we carry:
  • Phone
  • Prescription sunglasses
  • Hand sanitizer
  • $20 bill
  • Credit card
  • Driver's license
  • Ponchos in a zip loc (4 - one for each of us)

Yes some will say you don't need it you can go to first aid. What if first aid is on the other side of the park and you just need a band aide?

I have gotten bandaids twice just for asking at retail counters. Thought I'd give it a try before walking to First Aid.
