Things you like better about Winter

At this stage in my life--nothing except a little snow on the ground for Christmas!

Absolutely everything! September - about April is when i'm at my happiest. Better food, activities, sights, smells, clothes, weather...just everything.

I HATE summer with a passion. I'd much rather be snuggled up in comfy jeans and a soft cardigan, with a mug of hot cocoa or chai latte than in shorts and a tank sweating like crazy.

Love it! Love it! I never take any vacation time in the summer because it's too hot. I spend it indoors working at the hospital where it's cool and air conditioned. It better not be hot when I arrive at WDW Nov 5th. I get real cranky when I'm hot. I love the snow and the fact that the bugs are all dead. I hate bugs.

You know, I like this too. It is exceedingly rare for us to have snow in Atlanta at Christmas. It has happened about 2 times in the last 20 years. But it is so beautiful and nobody has to go to work. We all stay home and play with toys, watch movies, make a little bitty pine straw covered snowman and try to get our plastic sleds to cooperate.

Absolutely nothing. I don't like cold weather. It makes my back hurt. I think snow looks lovely on Christmas cards and not in my yard. :cold: I don't like driving in it or shoveling it. Maybe if I were into skiing or something, it'd be better, but I'd have to get past the cold=pain.

Lived in MI my 1st 50 yrs and took skiing lessons to "lessen" the pain of winter.

Didn't work. Found I liked sitting in the lodge drinking more than skiing. :teeth:

I'm with you. I hate the winter. I don't like cold weather, I can't breath in it without it killing my lungs. I have to walk with something wrapped over my mouth to keep the cold air out.

I hate bulky heavy clothing, I hate boots and gloves and hats. Hate snow. Hate brushing off the car. Hate never feeling warm no matter what.

I am only still living where I live because DH likes it here. Now there are a few days in December I like...Christmas and then DD #2's birthday on the 27th...then I have DD #3's birthday in February. But those are the only 3 good days in the winter here up north. I'd like them so much better down south.

That morning when you wake up and everything is covered in a coating of white that absolutely sparkles and glitters - if you have seen it you know what I mean! It's magical!

I think optimally, it would be late spring or early fall and I could visit Summer or Winter for a week or two if I wanted to.

One thing about Winter here though is that a certain activity that leads to children is far less sweaty in the winter. Oh and the Christmas season is my favorite time of year.

I'm coming up on my third winter in FL and I do miss snow every now and then. Not waking up at 5am and digging my car out of it so I can go to work  but a nice light dusting at the holidays is so nice. :thumbsup2

What I REALLY miss though, is fall. That first weekend of real autumn weather and the crispness in the air used to instantly make me feel so alive. My first fall down here in FL was SO hard for me!

And if you have to shovel it it's horrible. :rotfl2:

Not having I do yardwork. Not having to watch for bugs and snakes. Not melting when I go outside.

Being able to wear coats and jackets and long sleeves and boots.

But I hate that it gets dark so early in winter. That's the main thing I don't like about winter. Plus everything is so brown and bare in winter, although by August it's brown here, too, from everything being so hot and dry.

I used to like summer and get SAD in the fall. But once I hit 40 or so, do some reason I turned into a summer hater.

Hate. Winter.
I swear, I can never get truly warmed up from Nov-March. The house is kept super low so my dad doesn't have a fit about the gas bill (last year he got mad that I kept trying to raise it slightly above 60 and turned the main power off so no matter what I did to the thermostat it wouldn't go on). My boyfriend builds huge fires in the fireplace, but my room is on the opposite side and up a floor, so as soon as I get back upstairs I'm cold again. I hate going outside in snow, I hate having to wear a bulky jacket, I hate seeing my breath outside. Winter puts me in a bad mood. Future pans include moving somewhere fairly warm year round.

I HATE summer. Absolutely hate everything about it.

I burn super easy and my sensitive skin reacts to sun lotion so I hate going outside in the summer. I hate sweating. I hate bugs. I hate allergies that act up in the early summer. I hate humidity. I hate how heat and humidity drain me of all my energy.

I love.... sweat shirts and cool breezes. Brisk walks in the fresh air. Warm beverages on cool nights. Thick soups and satisfying stews. Sitting by the fire watching snow falling. I love skating and toboganning and snowmen.

I miss the snow! We didn't get any last year which is not normal!

Since I moved to the PNW, I finally say, I love both summer and winter.

If I want snow in the winter, I just have to drive up 1200-2000ft. Sometimes it snows at low elevations, but it isn't that often. We didn't have snow for Christmas last year and my daughter was disappointed, so we just all hopped in the car and drove 75 minutes into the mountains. :cool1:

If I want snow in the hottest days of summer, I just have to drive up 5000+ ft. I had fun impressing my relatives from the Midwest with it last August.

It has been very cool here this summer. Fine by me, except my tomatoes did not go anywhere this year. Today was a warm exception though, so we all packed up and went swimming at the beach today.

You couldn't drag me away from here back to a severe continental climate. :cool2:

One of the main things is cooler weather, spring and summer are so warm here getting to 105 or higher so when that cold weather hits it's good.
Getting to eat fall/winter foods like stews and chicken pot pies
Christmas is around the corner
Drinking hot chocolate and watching movies
Finally getting to pull out my fall/winter clothes and wear them, of course shopping for fall/winter clothing is always fun! :)

The cooler weather! It's so hot here, even when I'm just sitting next to a fan I feel like I'm sweating buckets, let alone when I'm active! I constantly feel gross. :headache:

I miss wearing sweatpants too, I love curling up under a blanket, and actually being able to sit next to someone and not be repulsed by the heat they radiate.

The lack of bugs! Summer brings them all out. :scared:

Hot chocolate!

Cute coats.

Boots!

I love winter!!!! October-March is my favorite time of year! I love snuggling under a blanket with a warm drink. I am so excited to get our first snow! I love swearters and warm clothes! I also love how my family seems to wake up during the cold months so we go more places. :goodvibes

No bugs!

By fall around here, we are counting down to the first frost so we don't have to worry about mosquitoes any more.
