Things to watch for on different rides

I like looking for all the "Disney" feature film characters on It's a Small World. I know this frustrated a lot of purists, but my family loves looking for these characters blended perfectly in with each land represented on the attraction.

I also love watching the Star Tours "shadow window". You can see all sorts of characters from the Star Wars films walk by, including Jar-Jar, R2D2, the emperor, and Watto.

I don't remember where Mr. Limpet was/is, I just know I've seen him! Maybe someone else knows?
My photo is from December of 2015 (I don't think he's moved since then). As the clamshell goes under the archway and just before it starts to rotate to face Ariel, if you look to the right (away from all of the action in the room), you can spot Mr. Limpet peaking out from between some seaweed.

Another one I remembered...in Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, if you look above the Constabulary sign in London (just after you leave Winky's pub), you'll see a silhouette of Sherlock Holmes in the window.

snow white kitchen, best detailed space at Disneyland, since it is the first visual, and passed by very fast, few folks take in the details or even forget to return after the boring ride. very possible to ride in the same mine car first thing in the morning three times, just to take in the kitchen.

And if you can't make it to France, then you paid admission to see it during Pinocchio

Here are some good ones that no one has mentioned yet.

Star Tours:
- Buzz lightyear in the luggage x-ray machine
- Jar Jar Binks frozen in carbonite being transported in the shadow window

Astro Blasters:
- Hidden target on Zurgs chest

Indiana Jones:
- Skeleton with Mickey ears ...

Which side is the skeleton on as you go by? I've always missed it. Also, there is a Mickey Mouse in the luggage x-ray on ST, too.

I always love looking for the Mary Blair doll on IASW. She's on the Eiffel Tower.

In the Star Tours queue, there is a little robot who is scanning luggage and he talks a bit. This robot actually is a repurposed audio-animatronic that used to be a Duck or Chicken or something like that from the America Sings attraction!! Check it out you can totally tell that it was a bird!

One of my favorite features is at the beginning of the Haunted Mansion in the Hallway just after you get off the haunted elevator. Not only do the pictures along the hallway change as you go past, but at the end of the hallway before you round the corner to get into your doom buggy you will see a couple of concave head statues on the wall that follow you as you walk by.

Last time we rode Indy, a cast member saw us trying to find it and was kind enough to shine his flashlight right at it. So fun!

Alligator and shooting star?? Haven't noticed these. Will have to be on the look out for these when we are there in a couple of weeks.

The shooting star happens fairly often, if you are staring at the sky when you get on the boat and are floating past Blue Bayou you'll see it at least 3 times. I always watch for it :)

What??? How have I never noticed this? That's just so cool. Thanks for pointing this out.

The cracked glass in the Haunted Mansion Ballroom scene has been fixed. It used to have a big plastic spider on it to cover up the hole. (I believe some kid used a slingshot to make it a long time ago). However, usually, on the dining room table in the ball room scene one of the first sets of dishes is arranged in a hidden Mickey.

Most people don't know about this because it's not a ride, but there is a walk through in Sleeping Beauty's Castle. The entrance and exit are on the Fantasyland side. There's dioramas telling the story of Sleeping Beauty.

They may have fixed this, but in Pirates you pass under some burning houses. At one point in time, there was a chair that was floating in midair. It was probably attached to a bard or something, but it broke free and just hung magically in the air.

In the Haunted Mansion, when you pass by the small library room (I believe it has the clock in it) the left chair has a hidden Donald Duck in the fabric.

That probably explains why I never see it, either. I'm always looking at BB!

The crack in the glass was caused by a bullet (some lunatic that also shot at some snowflakes in Innerspace). The offender was never caught. But when we rode HM earlier this year, the crack was still there and the spider intact. Sometimes it is easy to miss with all the other distractions going on in the ballroom.

I knew it was a shot of some kind.. thought it was a slingshot. Last time I went, I couldn't find the spider and my local friends had told me it had been fixed. I was under the impression that it couldn't be fixed because that piece of glass is so big that they would actually have to dismantle a good portion of the mansion to get a new piece in place.

You're right that the glass could not be fixed (thus the spider to cover the hole). In order to remove the plate of glass and install a new plate, part of the roof of the mansion would have to be removed. Oops! Guess the Imagineers didn't think of this scenario when the mansion was first built!
