I am heading home to SSR for the first time in Feb. I have a 2BR for 4 adults and 4 kids. What did you not think to bring that you wish you had? I just dont want to forget something. Thanks in advance.

Coffee filters for a 12 cup maker if you will be making coffee. There is only enough for 1 pot when you check in so you need to plan for coffee, filters, and whatever you use in it. Extra laundry soap if you plan to do laundry while there or you can buy individual boxes in the laundry rooms after you use the one box they give you at check in. It depends on how much you plan to cook if need other items. The kitchen is well supplied with cooking utensils but some people have reported bringing muffin pans, blenders, crock pots etc. We usually only breakfast in the room and occasional snacks so can't think of other things right now. I bring a collapsible hamper if we are there more than a couple of days and put it in the closet so dirty clothes don't get mixed with the clean ones. These are suggestions that have come from past experiences. Wish I had brought rain gear and an umbrella this past trip-Christmas through New Year- We now own two new umbrellas and 4 ponchos that will be going with us on future trips. That is 50+ dollars I would rather have spent on something else but look on it as an investment in future trips. You might want to look for inexpensive rain gear at home to take with you or pack a couple of small umbrellas.

I like the colapsible hamper idea...I would say rain gear also...we paid $20 fpr 3 ponchos in Dec...I also forgot to bring sunscreen..can I say Duh??? :)

The above are great suggestions. I got a chuckle out of it because we actually bring all of the things mentioned. You should see our suitcases.:lmao:

Really, remember those warm clothes. February can often bring cold snaps. I've seen many families scrambling for something warm when that happens. Florida is not a gauranteed warm destination evn Miami in the winter. Better safe than sorry.

Have a great trip.

A very good idea, even if you go at Thanksgiving!

On that same note I surprised the wife with an 8:00AM flight Saturday morning Dec. 2nd for one night at the BW (Our first night ever away from the kids). The forecast was for 73-77F and cloudy both days. Saturday it hit 89F! I now own a nice pair of $40 khaki shorts with a Mickey on the pocket I should frame in a glass case.

I agree with all of the above +gum if you are flying. Not even Orlando airport sells gum.

I go to Walmart's camping section and buy the .88 clear throwaway ponchos, just wear and throw away no need to lug them back home and for the price you can take a few!

Salt & pepper - no condiments in the kitchen (except some sugar packets for coffee) - and everytime we go, I forget salt and pepper for my DH. Last time I did, he swiped some from wherever we had lunch at the parks so we'd have it at our room.
We're going to SSR Feb. 19-22, just DH and me - packing shorts and pants, t-shirts and sweats so we're ready for anything, plus our Mickey ponchos which have made it through 5 trips!
