1. electronical is not a word. If you added an ly it can be an adverb, but that is all.

2. irregardless is a pointless interchangeable "pseudo" word that is not worth the controversy it provokes...maybe just say regardless :confused3

Ok, your turn :) More threads you say? ask and you shall receive!! :)

1. "I could care less" is incorrect. Think about it. It makes no sense. The correct phrase is "I couldn't care less."

2. Don't use apostrophes for plurals. For example, "I love all four park's at WDW" is wrong. "I love all four parks at WDW" is right.

3. Every time someone uses the wrong spelling of you're/your or there/their/they're, the universe kills a puppy.

If that were true, their would be no puppies left! (and yes I spelled it wrong on purpose)

Quotation marks for emphasis.

I had never seen it before moving to central NY, but it was everywhere there-- signs in stores, restaurant menus, etc. Most of the time I find it extremely annoying, but once a friend and I went out to lunch where the restaurant menu used both these terms in different places:
"Fresh" haddock
Fresh "haddock"

Either way sounds super sketchy. So, it became a joke between us over the years to ask if it was (airquotes) "fresh" haddock or fresh "haddock". :upsidedow

Replying to "thank you" with "no problem", especially in a service setting. Frankly I don't care if it was a problem for you to have done your job and I find no relief in knowing I didn't put you to any trouble. The correct response to "thank you" is "you're welcome".

And "thank you" OP for making my face twitch this morning just thinking about it...:sad2:

PS: sorry for the "" tzolkin. :o

If you don't care if it was a problem, why are you saying "thank you"?
Because I thank people for doing things for me - why wouldn't I? Cashier hands me my change, I say "thank you". Server pours my coffee, I say "thank you". What do you say in those situations?

I say "Thank you". But I don't care what they say in return (as long as it's not an insult ;)). To me "you're welcome", "no problem", "sure thing" and "glad to be of service" mean the same thing. It's a phatic expression, it's only job is to play a social role. Heck, in Britian, people respond to "thank you" with "thank you".

Agree with this. "My pleasure" would also be an acceptable response.

Another one that's become so ubiquitous is use of the phrase "you guys" when addressing a general group of people. I'm not a guy and it bothers me. I know many people don't understand why. Let's just say, if you're male, how would you feel to be included in a group referred to as girls or ladies? I don't think you'd like it.

I know several people who say ideal when they mean idea. As in, "I have a good ideal." Aren't all ideals good? I think you mean idea.

Also, the plural of sequin is not sequence. As in "the dancer's costume was covered in sequence." No. It was covered in sequins. It's different!

Random capitalization.

"Jeff and I went to the Grocery store to pick up some Chicken and Ice Cream."

My 7th-grade English teacher is spinning in her grave.
