Things that make you return to Disney

Lately I've seen a lot of negativity on these boards about everything that makes people unhappy with the way Disney runs their business. I want to know what makes you happy to return to Disney.

For me it's leaving the real world behind and getting to be a kid at heart without responsibilities for a few days.

I've never actually left Disney upset with a trip. Little things go wrong, but nothing that I feel like wasn't fixed or outside anyone's control.

However, as much as I hate waiting in lines, I honestly don't expect otherwise - I've waited in longer lines at my local six flags. So when that happens, I kind of just shrug it off.

I love feeling immersed in all things Disney. I can't really explain it, but planning a trip and the actual trip just makes me so happy.

We go back because it’s clean, safe and fun no matter what we travel a bit and this is a no think vacation for us. Disney Springs has added enough restaurants that it doesn’t get boring. We are DVC and get a 1 bedroom, very relaxing for us.

The only issue I have with Disney is that the constantly rising prices make it more difficult for me to afford a trip. I used to go at least every other year sometimes every year. Too bad they don't offer senior discounts! My last visit was in 2015. I am really, really hoping to return in Fall of 2019. I just love the feeling of leaving the real world behind and being in the Disney "bubble".

Just the feeling it gives me. Can't put a finger on it, but it's there, perhaps the chance to play make believe for a bit.

We love to travel all over, but nothing gives me that feeling that Disney does. :)

I love this. I can never explain this feeling either but whenever I go with someone for the first time and I look at them and see it in them too and you just feel like magic is real for awhile.

The only reason I've left a Disney trip with a bad taste in my mouth was because of the people I went to Disney with lol. Disney is the part that is a constant enjoyment.

I feel like a lot of people here .. I can't put my finger on why I want to go every year (or more). A big part is probably that I've always had a good time and I have really good memories and it's kinda like an old friend now that I want to keep visiting and knowing more about.

I am the same way. Plus Disney is the best place with accommodating food allergies.

ditto i what you said, but i love like many said, stepping into the magical world of disney for 8 days where i think about nothing else but having fun. the music, the rides, the parades and people watching. i tear up so many times, just watching the fireworks and watching the little kids reactions to it all. i'm so happy our 17 yr dd gets so excited every year to be in disney, we are all having withdrawals now, we've never had a bad trip in disney! we go to other places but nothing compares to disney world for us!

It's still a special place for us. I just spent my 50th birthday there last week. Loved every minute of our trip! We don't go all the time, which, for us, is why it feels special. I always cry at MK when Tink flies.

I think there is a difference between sharing or venting frustration and constantly moaning, groaning, and nitpicking about every little thing. I stay away from those threads. Life is too short to spend it being angry.

We just enjoy being there. I've been going since the 70s and my wife has been going since 1990. Our daughter has been going since infancy - she was 5 months old on her first visit. We feel comfortable there. It's familiar. We know the rides we like, the shows we like, the food we like, the shops we like. Compared to a vacation where we are visiting a place for the very first time, going to Disney World is far easier. It doesn't take a bunch of advanced research and planning. We can just show up and know we'll have a great time. And no, we don't generally make FPs or ADRs in advance. We are quite content to wing it when we get there.

I grew up watching Uncle Walt on TV, getting those little snippets of Disneyland that were part of every show. Going to WDW just brings back those happy memories.

As others have said, it is hard to explain the special feelings that come from walking down Main Street or flying on Soarin'.

DW and I enjoyed that isolation from reality many times on vacation and now, as Disney snowbirds, we are blessed to be able to take our winter "walks enhanced by Disney".

The attitude of the CMs and many of the guests who are there. The guest at the resort will greet you, not walk past looking at the sidewalk. The CM's are smiling. EX: I was at my usual grocery store last week and there was a new young man at the check out stand who was smiling and happy and eager to help! And I thought.... wow! he could work at Disney. Also the attention to detail in all of the parks. The landscaping is wonderful if you stop and look. The fact that you are delivered to where ever you want to go, no deciphering maps to get to the park. And I'm old enough to remember when Cinderella was my favorite Book and we watched The world of Disney on a black and white TV.. LOL. We move slower than we did in 1991, but after 50+ trips we still are thrilled watching family enjoy it too, kids and now grandkids. The kids sparkle!! Oh, and I'm a fireworks junkie. The EPCOT and MK fireworks at NYE and 4th of July will blow your face off!!!!

For us it’s my husband. He’s a big burley farmer and this is our happy place. We love that we can just check out and not worry about turkey or sheep or cows. It’s a 180 from our regular life of isolationism and feeding the world
