UtahBelle's post (the girl in the "barley" dress) made me think of this:

What do people do at Disneyland that makes you go "***?"

Mine is people who let their kids go careening around on Heelies. I mean- roller skating through a crowded area smashing into people. What are they thinking?

Ever lost a $20 lunch because of a kid on Heelies?

I did and the kids dad laughed...

Didn't even offer to buy us a new lunch or reprimand the kid..

8 month old DD in a Maya Wrap at DL...Got completly knocked over by a kid. Parent didn't say a thing. But my DH was ready to beat the crap out of the kid.

The #$%^&* shoes need to be banned from society....

Just my 2 Cents worth..

The bolded text is in case anyone is wondering why kids are so rude today. That's really bad!

We fortunately never encountered Heelies or terribly rude children in the park. (There were a couple rude adults, however!)

There was one kid who wouldn't let my kid play with something at Tarzan's treehouse, so I just asked DS6 to be patient, this kid would move along. Then the kid did something else rude, and DS complained again. So I said calmly (but loud enough for the other kid to hear), "You're right son, that is really rude. If you ever behave like that, you'll be in big trouble!" and I looked right at the kid.

He decided to move along. (I think this kid was just pushing my kid's buttons because his parents weren't close by to enforce good behavior.) :rolleyes2

I will not disagree about kids running into people with heelys on, but will defend kids who are taught how to behave while wearing them, as my daughter is.
Something that makes me go hmmm is teenagers hanging around like its the freakin mall! I think the parents of theses kids need to limit thier time in Disneyland. It's not a babysitting center or a hangout.

Heely's are not allowed in the Disney Parks. Even if a child knows how to use them properly, they should not use them if they are not permitted. Accidents can still happen even if they are well trained.

I have not seen them in the parks yet, but the grocery store we go to has a huge signs on the doors stating they are not allowed for safety reasons and every grocery trip we see at least one or two kids rolling around with their parents near-by. If something is not allowed I do not think you should teach your kids that it is ok to break the rules. Rules are in place for a reason, in this case to keep those wearing heely's and those around them safe.

What makes me go hmmm is the fact that I'm a heely magnet. In fact, I am the black hole of heelies. If someone's out of control in adventureland, they will some how go even more out of control as they dodge and weave the crowd, and find their way to me in Tomorrowland, and crash into my backside. Crash bang boom bam!!!! The gravitational effect seems greatest when I have some sort of food I'm carrying. But even when I'm shuffling up main streat consciously keeping my legs in at alll times, WHAM!!! inevitably a kid will find his or her way to me they'll end up on their backside. Of course the irresponsible parents run up and upon seeing little Johnny on his backside and big me standing up will inevitably blame me. And that's when the fun REALLY starts.

We saw them everywhere at WDW recently. They are banned everywhere up here shopping centres, grocery stores, schools, recreation centres etc! They are actually old news up in Canada now so the fad is passing up here finally. Probably due to the fact that we have snow up here 6 months of the year!:goodvibes

I've seen security people at the bag checks telling parents that heelies were not allowed and they had to take the wheels out. Of course the wheels go in the parents bags, then right back on the shoes once inside the park.

The 'I have a stroller and therefore am allowed to push my way through (over) everyone' is the thing that gets me the most.

Oh, and about hanging out at DL. I had a very pleasant conversation with a young student once. She goes to DL after school and does her homework, usually at a table at Riverbelle Terrace. I thought it would have been awesome to be able to do that in high school or college. I guess I don't have a problem with the kids hanging out at the park.

That's funny. I am a teacher and once in a while I go there to correct papers! LOL!

I LOVE it. If I were close to the park I'd be there doing stuff all the time. I can only imagine that paying bills would be so much more tolerable while sippig a Mint Julep and watching the Columbia or Mark Twain sail.

Yeah. That only goes so far. What I think they should do is make everyone take em out at the gate and if a cm sees you Heeling in the park, they confiscate the wheels and you can pick em up when you leave. Sounds fair enough to me. But you know someone will just chew a cm out over it.

Believe it or not we actually had someone advise us to rent a stroller and use it as a battering ram. Have you ever been in a sea of humanity and from behind. excuse me. excuse me. EXCUSE ME!!!! I usually just turn around and say Exactly who should I trample so I can get out of your way?

Never did mind the hanging out myself either. As long as they're behaving, and they like it, fine.

Once when I went I saw a mom holding her kid in a bush by the Storybook Whale Ride (I cant remember what its called) and he was peeing in the bushes (the ones that were part of the ride scenery and waiting line, anyone could accidently brush against them). OMG!!! SICK. In front of TONS of ppl right next to the line, I'm assuming that it was so she wouldnt lose her spot in line. But in my opinion, they should have been kicked out! USE THE BATHROOM!! The lines are not THAT long..

I don't like watching couples making out like crazy in DL. I don't mind a kiss or peck on the cheek or a hug but when you are just full out playing tonsel hockey and groping each other that's disgusting! :crazy2: I remember when I went on the Pooh ride with my bf this couple sat in the row behind us and the whole time they were making out like crazy! Then another time we rode Pirates and this boy and girl had a row to themselves. Well the boy pinned the girl down on the seat and started doing goodness knows what! :crazy2: Same goes for when they hold up a line for a ride just to make out! :sad2:

Oh that is so not fun to witness! Once on the Sun Wheel the couple in the swinging car above us was literally doing you know what. That can be a very long ride as you have to wait for each car to unload etc. We had to sit there below them and they would come swinging down toward us just off in their own little sex crazed world. :crazy2: . I was quite happy to see the couple being stopped by security after they got off the ride. That whole ride my son who was about 9 kept saying "what are they doing?" Finally he surmised the "lady was scared and had to sit on her daddy's lap". OMG I was blushing and ready to jump out the car!

As for Heely's I have seen them at WDW so many times and it amazes me how stupid some parents can be. My elderly, frail mom was run down by a kid out of control as we came down the monorail ramp at MK. Sounds like they are all the rage at DL now too. Just great!:furious:

I also love people who videotape and flash photograph on rides where they are specifically told not to.

OMG!!!!!! I dont now what I would tell my kids.:crazy2: I think I would just DIE!!!!!!

Note to self: don't even LOOK like you are making out on a ride! :lmao:

I wonder what happened to them with security? That is just disgraceful and unclassy. I would have yelled, "There are kids on this ride!!! Get a room." :furious:

In line at the Refreshment Corner, by Coca-Cola there was a younger couple (when I say younger more likely high school age) just "macking it out." There were a few parents strategically shielding their kids by standing between them and their kids, but essentially not doing/saying anything to the two.
So I turned on the flash on my camera and started taking pictures. When confronted, I told them "Hey if you insist on puttin on a show don't be surprised if people watch and take pictures. You're in Disneyland!"
Needless to say they left. Got a few pats on the back for that one.

Oh, BTW, Anyone wants pictures? LOL!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh that is reallly funny!!! HAHA I too hate it when Im there with my little bros and sis and we're trapped somewhere like the ride line in Tower of Terror and there are teens right in front of us all over each other the whole way in until we get on the elevator. OMG SICK and annoying. The only thing you can hope for is taht you sit in front of them and can put your hands up to ruin their pic.lol not that they would notice..
