Things that gross you out in WDW!

ummm and rinse........just an example showing the extent that first time mommies/daddies go to.......

Funny, when my my daughter was a year old my cousin and his wife came up for a visit. DD dropped her paci on the floor at a local restraunt and my cousin had put it in his pocket. After arriving home, he went into the kitchen and I heard the banging of pots and pans.....I walked in and asked what he was doing and he said he was going to boil it (sterilize) it for me.

I laughed and told him there was no need to go thru that extent. I did tell him to wash it in some hot water with dish soap or grab a bleach wipe of the counter and rinse it well if he felt the need.

I just found it funny that my cousin, a guy who has no children, who looks like he'd be very anti-kids was so concerned about her getting germs and what not that he was going to sterilize the paci. I had to reassure him that soap and water was fine.

Personally, if I pick it up within the second it has hit the ground, I wipe it on my pants, shorts and give it back to DD. If it was a longer period of time, then I'll use a wipe of head to the bathroom.

One more thing that grosses me out not only at WDW but at every public bathroom is how some people use paper to open door and leave this paper hanging there.

I have seen people rinse their pacifiers/binkies off in the fountains. That is a little gross too considering I have also seen people put their feet in the fountains to cool off. LOL

Really nothing grosses me out. Although I do tend to think, what are people thinking, from time to time. ;)

I wish not going near the smoking areas was the solution. When we were there a few months ago as soon as it got dark, people all over Epcot were smoking in non-smoking areas. Some were not even trying to hide it and just walking through World Showcase smoking away! I have gone nearly every year since the late 90's and this year was by far the worst of smokers not staying in the smoking areas. :headache:

We were their this past December, June, and July and I thought the exact same. I have never seen this many smokers outside the smoking areas. I was really surprised by this and they would walk right past people and blow smoke right in their faces.

I don't remember which counter service restaurant it was, but a family ate their complete meal on top of a garbage can!! GROSS!!

There was a recent study done in the U.S. (Harvard) that concluded that 900 babies deaths could be prevented per YEAR if mothers would just follow the APS' recomendations that babies should be exclusively breastfed for at least six months.

Having said that, lets not discourage the breastfeeding of infants by making mothers feel ashamed or self conscious for feeding in public. You don't eat your lunch in the restroom  or with a blanket over your head....babies shouldn't have to either :goodvibes

On now to my gross out. I too get grossed out by smells so for me it has to be B.O. and any attraction that has a funk to it.....Stitch being the obvious one.

It also really grossed me out when we arrived at POFQ when my son was just two and he proceeded to waltz right up to the fountain in the lobby and scoop up a handful and have a big slurp :scared1: Proud parenting moment people I tell ya! There's still to this day something not right with that kid :rotfl:

Take care!

I get grossed out by men in tank tops at restaurants - the armpit hair is disgusting while trying to enjoy a meal (table service).

Old man whose testes hang out of their boxer shorts.

Spitting - it is not okay to just spit on the ground. Who raised these people - wolves!?!

:rotfl2:
Haven't you noticed? All men spit! I asked my husband why and he claims it is because of mucus in the throat. I said, go in the bathroom and get a kleenex. Don't do it in public. And I agree about the old men. That is just nasty ((shudder))

The thing that grosses me out the most is seeing some of the bathing suits people wear at the waterparks. You can't help but stare and look at their "fat" hanging out and I am not meaning the men, it's the woman. Come on ladies, if you can't see your feet wear a one piece and not a two piece.

On splash mountain the people that put their hands in the water and /or splash other people with that water or like splash themselves with the water... dont they realize that that water is not filtered .... ewww gross

But don't you get splashed with the same water at the bottom of the hill? :confused3

The people smoking drove me nuts! Especially the classy gentleman who had to smoke in the midst of the huge crowd on Main Street after Spectromagic. Time to ban smoking altogether at the parks Disney!! Come on!!

I HATE it when people chew with their mouth open. It drives me insane. I'm a little nervous about the "family-style" seating at Biergarten because I might be thrown in with loud, obnoxious eaters. I wish I could tune it out but it's always been my pet peeve. :guilty:

It won't happen but I would be all for it!

Am I the only one out there that eats the Turkey Legs???:rotfl:

The Diaper changing on tables and chairs, YUK!!!

Nope, you're not the only one! They are delicious, but I agree that they look kind of gross when people are eating them.

You're gonna get splashed by it eventually either way. I guess I don't see the problem with splashing water aside from breaking the "keep hands inside the boat" rule. It is no more gross that what happens to everyone in the boat at the bottom of the last hill.

I guess there's not a whole lot that grosses me out except public restrooms in general... and for the most part, I'd have to say Disney's are probably cleaner than most out there. Still doesn't mean they're pristine and sanitary though.

Why is Disney so reluctant to ban smoking? It makes no sense to me!

because, sure they could ban it, but it won't stop people from doing it. it's better to try to regulate and have 90% of the smokers in designated areas, rather than ban it and have 100% smokers wander around lighting up.

I'm a smoker, but i stay in the areas. I'm also vocal to people who don't go to the areas. Just as I'm respectful to your needs, you should respect mine as long as I'm going by the rules. But take away my prevledge and I'll easy become another one of "those people" lighting up anywhere.

It just seems odd to me that a place which is HEAVILY marketed to children, has them come there and be exposed to secondhand smoke.

Don't get me wrong, I don't smoke either, but you can't outright ban smoking at the theme parks. At least 20 percent of the guests smoke, so it would be killing 20% of their business since the parks are full day affair and most people will just take their business to a "smoke friendly" theme park.

They've made smoking sections in the park that are designed to not bother the other guests as much as possible. As for the gentleman on Main Street smoking, you should tell the nearest CM in this situation and they (or a leader) will ask the man to move to a "Designated Smoking Area" or to put it out until he can move to an area at his leisure.

Truthfully, I'd rather deal with holding my breath through a smoking area than deal with extra irritated people who are hours into withdrawals, or have decided to smoke wherever, around the park.
