We took Tervis Tumblers with lids last year to keep our drinks in. It was difficult for one person to fetch drinks for all of us though- those are big cups. We have since discovered they make slip on handles for them so you can carry three or four with one had- no spill because of the lids. That might be something to look into. I wouldn't worry about packing a tray- and you can order cereal from room service.

They started handing out Tervis tumblers to people who attended one of the DVC sales sessions on-ship. Not sure if the free tumblers and free mimosas are worth sitting through a timeshare seminar, but they usually hand out other cheap but useful swag like backpacks, too.
