:earboy2: When my DH and I went on our first cruise I thought we had forgotten socks and his hair gel. Well come to find out, we found it last minute but when we went to the ship's store to look for these items, low and behold they didn't have either. What are some things that you can not leave at home? :earboy2:

Enough prescription medication to last the entire trip plus a few days....
Addresses of those you want to send postcards to.
Soothing aloe lotion for sunburn
Dryer sheets

With all the germs, virus, and oogie boogies...
I think WE ALL should bring Lysol and Purell!

Our sound machine!! We can't sleep without it!

DS's beloved lambie.

My pillow!! :lovestruc

One of the greatist things that I brought (thank you DISers!) was the two dollar over the door shoe holder that held all the bathroom items. My DH was impressed. When it came time to pack up, I just took it off the hooks and folded into the suitcase. It worked great! Try it you'll like it!

Well, the ONLY thing thats required that you bring is your photo ID and proof of citizenship - everything else is optional :faint: :scared: :crazy2:  (even your tickets ::yes:: )I know everyone else would prefer you to have a couple of changes of clothes and some deoderant and toothpaste. :teeth:

Just hopping aboard this thread, very helpful!

Powerstrip
2-way radios (to keep tabs on the kids)
Disposable underwater cameras
Wrinkle remover spray
Shout wipes

The list goes on and on and on...

I've heard Duct tape....

Can anyone tell me what the extension cord and duct tape are
for?

Since we are now starting to think about the May cruise and it's our first time... does anyone have a list of types of clothes to have w/you for the 7 days...also, are there travel irons aboard or do I need to bring my own? How many bags per person allowed?

TIA for all your help! :worship:

Extension cord is desirable to plug in other things. There are two outlets at the desk and one behind the TV, but none near the bed. There is a "shaver" outlet in the bathroom for a night light. Duct Tape is helpful to keep window drapes closed and to fix any tears in luggage or clothing. You can also use it to tape down the afore-mentioned extension cord so no one will trip on it.

A common use for the extension cord is for a hair/blow dryer. The bathroom outlet doesn't have the current to power most of them, which leaves you with the mirror at the desk. The outlet there is very close to the surface of the desk making it very difficult or impossible to plug in any hair dryer cord with one of those GFI plugs (the squarish things which cut out in case it falls in water). The extension cord fixes that problem.

If my memeory is correct, I seem to remember someone posting a pakcing list for cruises....it was either a website or a list. does anyone have it?
We are busy planning our upcoming May cruise. Good to know about the extension cord!

Liquid Hand Soap -- With all the germs out there, who wants to use a mushy little bar of soap that everyone uses? :confused3 I bring a bottle for both sinks. Sure, it takes up space in my bags, but then I have more room in my luggage on the way home for all my new purchases. If you don't want to bring it with you, you can always buy it in your first port. :)

What a great post. I was planning to ask about the soap for the sinks and wanted to bring my own liquid if it was not provided. Glad I don't have to ask now!

More "beach" clothes and less dressy/casual clothes. ALso, an electric clock....the rooms only have a small (but cute) battery clock with hands. It is hard to see in the day time, and impossible to see in the dark.
