Things not to forget???????

Well, lay out everything you think you need, then put half of it away. People seem to overpack.
There are great packing lists here, and on other travel websites. Check them.

The next best advice after that is to look at every item, and ask, "DO I REALLY NEED THIS?"

In review the other posts here, I'd question about half those items.

if you have children - bring your own autograph book - much cheaper to buy at a store like JoAnns and you have more variety to choose from

fingernail polish to keep those toes looking premo

Liquid Hand Soap -- With all the germs out there, who wants to use a mushy little bar of soap that everyone uses? :confused3 I bring a bottle for both sinks. Sure, it takes up space in my bags, but then I have more room in my luggage on the way home for all my new purchases. If you don't want to bring it with you, you can always buy it in your first port. :)

This is a good idea but i suggest the hand sanitizer over soap, lots of germs and you don't need to rinse it off like the soap, but both if you can fit it in

Don't bother with the hand sanitizer.

Why, you ask? Glad you asked! :rotfl2:

On the Wonder this past weekend, they had LARGE trays of hospital grade "wet-nap" type hand cleaner towels in front of each restaurant before each meal, before you got on the boat, and just about every time you turned around. They were pretty insistant (well... they "encouraged" you strongly, anyway) about folks using them before meals. They're pretty serious about cold and flu season and NOT having a sick boat like another ship did down there a few weeks ago.

Other things to bring... an extra memory card for your camera is nice.

Always pack a change of socks/underwear and a bathing suit in your carry-on luggage in case the airline screws up.

Ziplock bags - pack a few spare in your luggage in case there are any things you want to pack in them on the way back (like damp bathing suits).

An empty suitcase for all the souviners and aloe gel for sunburn also a deck of cards just in case we get sick and they make us stay in the cabin :sad2:

OP: If you have young children who just mastered going to the potty pack extra underwear. I didn't pack enough and sure enough the one package on the Wonder sold out. (Why didn't I snatch that?! - oh ya, the price). Well, duct tape would've been nice too. There was one night that our closet doors (and I mean both of them) were slamming pretty good.

Take pictures! Extra memory card a must or least dump the digitals into your laptop. You're only on the boat once and you won't get a second op. to take pictures once the cruise is over.

On our last cruise (non-disney) my husband forgot his underwear. This was a very had thing to find on board and he had to wait for the first port. My suggestion is to have an organized system for packing so the essentials don't get left behind. :teeth:

If you're going to be in the water at CC, a pair of those mesh and rubber beach shoes (I'm sure there's a better name for them) is almost a must. Disney or not, it's still the ocean floor, and there's plenty of jagged shells and rough spots. No sense in ruining you day in a tropical paradise by slicing open the sole of your foot.

Other oddball things that I've found a use for: a hi-liter for the Navigator; a small day bag to get your stuff from the ship to the beach; and a cheapo little folder to put paperwork into (old Navigators, etc). Unfortunately, loose papers have a tendency to get 'cleaned'.

also, are there travel irons aboard or do I need to bring my own? ?

FYI - due to Coast Guard regulations, no cruise line will allow irons in the staterooms... I know that DCL has irons in the self-laundry areas, though.

For those of you that have cruised while you were pregnant--is there anything that you would do different? Did you tend to be more seasick? We booked our cruise last June and in January I found out I was preggo :goodvibes I will be about 14 weeks when we go--have never cruised before so now I really don;t know what to expect! Any hints that could make my trip easier? Thanks

Ok...thought you were telling people not to forget to get pregnant when they cruised.

Now that you mention it—be sure to “plan” ahead. . .Like sunscreen, a little “protection” on a cruise can be an important thing. Further, there are some things that you just don’t want to ask for at the shops by the Walt Disney Theater.

Point in case, after a great Christmas cruise in 2002, in October 2003 we became parents a “Wonder”ful son.

Either there or on Big Thunder Mountain. . .

LOL-you guys are great!!

BTW-what types of pharmaceuticals do they carry on board?

You know, they say don't drink Alcohol when pregnant, but if it wasn't for the alcohol, most of us wouldn't have gotten pregnant!

Don't forget to bring the Alcohol!

:rotfl:
