Magic -- before re-imagination

I miss the option of bringing your own alcohol on board. Alaska without peppermint schnapps & hot chocolate just wouldn't have been the same! That was a big selling point for my husband was when I told him he didn't have to pay for alcohol. We aren't wine/champagne drinkers so the new policy doesn't help us out at all.
Also, I'm bummed to hear about the pretzels! We loved those!
And the towels, that would be so much better than the backpack we received.
so the good in the pub is not included, costs extra?I realize your post was from last year but I took a pic of the Pub Grub menu on the Magic last week and thought I would post:

For food on the pub menu, yes there's a charge. There's still a "free" buffet in the pub for a short time each night. At least there was on our cruise in May.so the good in the pub is not included, costs extra?

Yeah, we had it on the EBTA, also. But I didn't take any pictures this time. They had this on the Magic last week!!!

I do have a picture, but it's on a different computer. I'll have to find it.They still have it. Last week on the Magic there were full sized hot dogs, wings, nachos, mini wrap sandwiches, sauerkraut. They were encouraging people to eat up from the buffet!!

I'm enjoying this thread and thought of a few things no longer on the ships and not already mentioned.
Smoking was allowed in bars on deck 3 and on balconies.
Palo reservations were taken on embarkation day in Palo! FYI: In 1999, charge was $5.00!
Tropical night, the precursor to pirate night.
Afternoon games at Quiet Cove pool.
Three stationary chairs and small table on deck 5 aft, just aft of the theater. Nice place to meet/wait for other cruisers in your party.
Coin operated washers and dryers.

I feel the opposite. I miss Topsiders (I don't really like Cabanas) and I'm so glad to see the back of the Chihuly. It's not really Art Deco style and I never felt that it fit (though I don't particularly like the replacement even though I think that it's slightly better - they just seem bland and undersized).
Nope. I found it really annoying this summer. You have to manhandle your plate, put it on the table, go get a drink (and you and your dining companions have to stagger your trips so that your plate doesn't get taken in the mistaken assumption that you're finished), then go get some fruit, etc. It's really inconvenient. I don't see why they can't just give you a tray to be more efficient and do one trip.
