This is my first trip to disney, and I'm staying in the cabin. Going for Christmas!!! I am driving from NC. What things will I need that's not provided in the cabin?
Thanks!

If you are doing much cooking at the cabin, you may want to bring a cookie sheet. There are none at the cabin and that was the only thing I missed the night I was making canned biscuits to go with our dinner.

I do remember others saying that Yes, you have to bring your own filters! HTH

We are going for Christmas too!.

It depends on how much you plan to cook. Sometimes we cook a lot. This time we plan not too!

Cookie sheet is a big must...biscuits, pizza, cookies. I found the knives are not good so I bring one of mine. I hope you are driving! :goodvibes

If you are grilling, they dont have any utensils for that so you might want to pick some up at the dollar store.

Sugar, salt, pepper, oil.

Other than that they are pretty well stocked.

Thanks everyone. Yes, we are driving from North Carolina.

US TOO! We take a laundry basket of the basic stuff we need (dry goods, snacks, cereal etc). I also take a muffin pan. Also some frozen stuff in a cooler, like spaghetti sauce or easy meals. Then we buy the fresh stuff there. There is a Winn Dixie on Vineland -Apopka Rd that isnt far from FW at all. It is new and clean and bright and not crowded and the prices are good.

I REALLY overdid it on the groceries we brought last time!
My suggestion would be to write down what your family eats on a normal day at home for a week (or however long your planned stay is), then take away one days worth of food and add some extra portable snacks to your FW grocery list!
This worked really well for a friend of mine because everyone usually always eats something from/at the parks or resort restraunts or ends up too tired to make/wait up for dinner at least one day!

And all though you CAN run the dishwasher yourself, the mousekeeper will do it every day for you, even if its just 2 dirty bowls and a spoon. Man, I was soooo spoiled! LOL

We only ate 2 meals at the cabin, and I brought stuff to make pizza (cheese in a cooler) and stuff to make chili, but replaced fresh hamburger with the chili no beans from the store. Turned out great.
We mostly ate breakfast items, and were able to buy 1/2 gal of milk at the trading post. It was around $3, but since it was the only item we needed, I didn't want to waste time or fuel looking for a grocery store.
Have a great time!

I brought the coffee packs that come in their own filter, that was handy and also, I could take them out and put them in a ziplock bag, therefore I didn't have a big bulky can in my suitcase.

Have fun in the cabins, we miss them and wish we were there!!

And here's my usual addition: bring small cups for the bathroom, salt and pepper, and a cookie sheet.

I don't go on any extended stay vacation without my Crockpot. Especially camping. We are in the cabins dec. 10-17 and i will bring it with me.

We are having chilli 5 ways in it one night and a pot roast on another night. I also like to make a potato soup the night before and let it sit in the crockpot on low while we are in the parks. LOVE IT! Come back and you have a fully homecooked meal. Great when its cold outside!

Wendy

maybe bring paper plates too.

It does get chilly in December at Ft Wilderness. I made sure I bought Tea bags, honey, lemon and hot choclate with us. Also, if you are driving, I would bring a case of water if you don't want to drink the tap water.
