Things I would never have done without the DIS

Subscribing to this. Haven't been a member for very long and all of this information is wonderful!

1) Stayed at POP. I was really worried about Pop after reading bad reviews on trip advisor. DIS and the awesome All about Pop thread showed me what a great resort it is!

2) Calling Disney MULTIPLE times asking about a PIN CODE. I made 3 or 4 calls back to back and holy cow finally got a cm that looked and we had a free dining pincode!!!!!!!!!

3) Had the courage to ride Tower of Terror and Rockin' Rollercoaster.

4) Been ready and waiting for the bounceback offer when we checked in this past Dec!

I wouldn't have bought into Disney Vacation Club (which I think, for us, was the best decision we could have made)

We are staying CL at the Poly on our next visit in Dec 2010.

... us too

I never thought we would stay at a MK deluxe - but after hearing sooo much about the Poly we stayed Poly CL December 2008. And I think we had the best room in the house! Second floor (close to lounge) and a perfect view of the castle.:)

Second best thing: I would have never known about the Ak Sunrise Safari, highlight of a prevouse trip - staying at AKL CL :thumbsup2

SO many things, but here's a few:

1. Would never have tried 50's Primetime (and liked it!)
2. Wouldn't have known about PIN Codes and used it to book our anniversay trip in June
3. Would NEVER have bought a pair of Crocs (I am now the proud owner of FIVE pairs!)
4. Wouldn't know about SW Weekends
5. Never would have found the Wait Times app for my iPhone
6. Would never have known that when those big purple signs on the way to & from the parks say "Next Right" they really mean "RIGHT NOW"!!!
7. Wouldn't save a ton of money with the TIW card.
8. Wouldn't know about Dole Whips
9. Wouldn't know to get a B-Day badge for DS on our next trip
10. Would be clueless about the importance of rope drop for TSM and would still be wondering how the heck you're ever supposed to be able to get on this ride!
11. Wouldn't be planning on chowing down at the Earl of Sandwich on our next trip
12. Would not have known to beware of Pop Warner weeks.

And finally, would not have known what Schoolbread is. But now that I know, where do I get it????

Thanks to the Dis I found out about:

~Crocs! DH and I never go on any vacation without ours. And moleskin and Body Glide

~Boma, one of our all-time faves

~Candlelight Processional and MVMCP

~Free Dining!

~MNSSHP...love it! (And Mickey's Halloween Treat at DL!)

~Where to rent a scooter for my Mom. I would never have been able to bring her on a Disney trip without it

~TGM

We are also DVC members and always purchase premium annual passes. How does this work, always looking for ways to save. We are a family of 2 adults and two kids, DS8, DS alsmost 2. Can you use them for 10 years? What would happen if I purchased the childs ticket for my DS who is 8 now, but will be 10 in a couple of years and considered to be charge at adult prices:confused3

I believe I read on mousesavers that they will upgrade your daughter's pass to an adult for free.

My 7 year old daughter still likes princess things but is really growing out of it. She was still interested in BBB, but the cost was too much. On DIS I found out that we can get her hair done with colored gel and sparkles for a fraction of the cost at the harmony Barber Shop in MK. I'm really glad I found out about that!

Ooohhh!!!! Good to know! I am totally checking that out!

i also learned about Dole Whips here
also:
Fridge Swaps
Epcot Christmas Story tellers
bagalini
that the guy who controls PUSH can be seen really close to PUSH
body glide!!!!
:hippie:

Getting the boys' haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop along with lime green mickeys in gel on the back of their heads.

Getting the gel and pixie dust treatment at the Barber Shop isn't just for kiddies.

Knowing that I am not alone in my Disney Obsession. :dance3:

Too much to name, but off hand i'd say....
The Different restaurants in WDW that are good.
Hidden Mickeys.
Different hotels to stay, or not to stay, at.
Rope drop.
Devine at A.K.
The best places and times to see the characters.

Could someone explain this one?

upgrade our 5 day passes to 7 days after we use them once & they will only cost a few $$ more

I think I'm missing something simple here.

Ok, I really need this explained to me also.

Without the Dis, it never would have occurred to me to purchase a 10-day non-expiring ticket with Water Park Fun & More options one year and use that ticket to get into water parks for many years. We would have continued to purchase a Premium Annual Pass every year to get the water parks.

Thanks!

gosh there are so many things I wouldn't have done without the Dis -
-wouldn't have known about the Christmas story tellers at Epcot
-wouldn't have known about Coke around the world
-wouldn't have known fast passes could be used past their scheduled time slot
-wouldn't have known you can get into MK at 4:00 for the MVMCP
-wouldn't have thought to get anniversary pins for in-laws when we took them for their 50th anniversary - they got quite a few free desserts
-too many to remember them all

Thanks DIS:cool1::thumbsup2

Painting green Mickey heads on pennies and plotting where I am going to hide them. :lmao:

Know what a Vera Bradley Mini Hipster is.

Know how to get to the Kona Cafe from POP for some Tonga Toast. :worship:

Know that there may or may not be a ghost by the name of George on POTC.:scared1:

That there really are still some nice people in the world that believe its okay to use your imagination and have fun with your family.:grouphug:

Tons!

I wouldn't have known about the luscious DOLE WHIP!
I wouldn't have known about all the resort options.
Using fast passes beyond the labeled time
Rope Drop
Staking your claim for a good spot at the MK parade like 45 min in advance!

Just remembered one more.

Without the DIS I would not have known to get to Fantasmic 90 minutes early and my daughter would not have been the princess of Fantasmic and lead everyone into the theater. She still talks about it 4 years later.

I would never have:
- tried the Sweet Almond Pretzel at Kringla Bakery Norway THE BEST!
- known that FastPasses can be used anytime after the scheduled time BEST TOURING HELP EVER
- easily found great parade/show viewing locations
- tried a Dole Whip (which I'll skip now)

Without Dis:

I never would have known that AP holders can do a ride along at Richard Petty for free!
I never would have known how to upgrade our 4/3 tickets to get the best value on an AP
Dis is the best place to do research and get advice on our next resort.

Pick a pearl
Looked for the key under the Mat at Muppets
Tried the bakery at Norway
Look for and find Devine
Knew about the old ring in the ground
Met so many who appreciate the CMs and how special they can truly make an experience
