Things I would never have done without the DIS

Without the Dis, we never would have known about Wishes fireworks cruises. Tried it for the first time a few weeks ago, and I think it was the most enjoyable thing we did during the entire trip.

What is a Wishes fireworkds cruise?

Our trip is not until September - but from the planning point of view -
without the Dis I would have never:

*Made Mickey ears tie dye shirts:hippie:

*Paid for a photopass share:thumbsup2

*Made a spiral notebook for touring plans and notes to take to the parks:)

*Made ADRs 90 days out at 6:00am online and 7:00am for the phone in ressies. Since I live overseas, I added funds to my skype account to call and good thing too as I was on hold for an hour! Thanks Dis for the advice! My call only cost 1.5 Euro!:woohoo:

*Learned how to post photos to a web site:surfweb:

*Found www.portorleans.org:surfweb:

I thought of two more:
  • We got groceries delivered to our room
  • We rented a stroller off property and had it for the whole week, instead of using the park strollers during the day

what do you mean, Disney Visa discount? 1- sign up for a Dis Visa card at WOD, and get a discounted rate? or 2- use your Dis Visa to get discounts on stuff you are buying there?

Thanks. Have been dithering for years over whether to get a DV or not.

If you spend $50 or more and pay with your Disney Visa, you get a 10% discount at World of Disney.

Previously, you didn't have to actually pay with the card -- you could just show it. But this has recently changed.

(Annual passholders also get a 10% discount. If you have an AP, it's easier to use that because it doesn't have the $50 minimum and you can pay however you like.)

Would have never:
-known about using FP after return time
-dolewhips
-hidden mickys
-DTD box of mr potato head stuff
-Make Your Own at Goofy's.
-known to make ADRs asap. I, sadly, would have been the dork trying to get a ressie 5 days before arrival. lol
-gotten an early ADR for bfast in the parks before they open!

Without the DIS I would have never begged my dad to get tickets to MNSSHP or order the chocolate slipper at CRT. I knew about MNSSHP before, but I've never seen pictures, or knew what it was, after I saw pictures and heard accounts from people who've been there, I was like I HAVE TO GO! Once I saw pictures of the chocolate slipper from CRT, I looked good, so I have to try it, I didn't even know they had that type of thing.

Oh and my daily dosage of lots and lots of Disney pictures, I go through Disney withdrawls frequently and the multiple pictures help :thumbsup2

Thank you!

DIS has been great! I've learned so much...Thanks!

FP are good after the time on ticket
Make ADR's well in advance
Rope drop!
Pin Codes
Yummy food of all kinds
and I'm sure there are so many that I am forgetting....

Without the help of DIS, I would not have known about the following:

Previous Trips:

  • Illuminations Cruises
  • You can actually eat INSIDE the Castle!
  • Sitting atop the Train Station for Parades and Fireworks
  • World Showcase Fun (like all of the different movies and entertainment)
  • Gran Marnier Slushies
  • Custom Made Cakes
  • Dole Whips
  • MNSSHP

This Trip:

  • [*]FREE DINING!!!
  • 90 Day ADR Window
  • California Grill for Wishes
  • Cava Del Tequila Opening
  • Main Street Bakery!!!
  • School Bread
  • Drinking Around the World (Peach Snaps in Particular)
  • Tinkerbell Twist Slushies
(Notice that this trip is ALL about the Eating!) :rotfl:

:cheer2::disrocks::cheer2:

I would have never discovered Dole Whips.

I would have never went on COP. It is not one of my all time favorites.

I would have never known how to get around the super flush toilets or the air conditioner sensors (post its).

I would have never known that we could get groceries delivered to our room. or ship water to our resort

And for this trip thanks to influence of the Dis next week we are:
going to Kona Cafe for Tonga Toast!
watching all 3 of the Epcot WS movies!
watching the fireworks from the Poly beach (and not staying there) and catching the Electrical Pagent

There are so many great things I learned about especially making ADRs and the dessert party.

On the other hand if I hadn't known about the DIS I might have spent more time planning the wedding rather than most of my time planning our honeymoon!!!

:goodvibes

eat at air conditioned CS restaurants in the September heat-I have a list!

.

I would love this, we are going in 3 weeks.

I never would have made tie dyed Mickey shirts
Online ADR's
Mr Potato Head box in DTD
Early BF ADR's before the park opens
Costco water delivered
the #to call to get a list for food allergies (for a friend!)

There are so many more, this has been my #1 source of info
