Things I definitely will NOT do on my next WDW trip...

Boy, I do the same thing, Next time I will and next time I won't.
But do you know what is most important???
Just before you go back..............
Read what you wrote!!!!!
Because while you are in the magic, it is easy to repeat the same mistakes!!!
It took me a few trips and a few years of saying "Next time........" to get that!

BUT............Next time I go, I will spend a bit more time at the hotel pool

I will not listen to my BIL and not make any ADR's because he wants to "go with the flow" and not plan anything---we ended up eating CS for almost every meal!! :sad2:

I will not get stuck in frontierland for the entire day--hey, hon, we missed the whole other side of the park!! :confused3

I will not rush to get to the airport early only to have to wait 3 hours for our flight and hear DH complain the WHOLE time! ;)

I will buy that souvenir I've been eyeing instead of regretting it when I get home.

I will really enjoy the time I have with DH and DS instead of being such a drill sargeant!! :teeth:

When we go to Disneyworld I am not a nurse,a mom,a PTA member,a volunteer, the keeper of all lost things,a wife , a cook, the housekeeper, the bill payer or any other of that stuff. I am just me again and can be silly and have fun! How often do we get to do that as adults? I dont think you should feel guilty. I bet they are just jealous or (gasp!) people who do not enjoy the magic ...and that would be sad ;)

I am so impressed by what you wrote. You reminded me how I feel when I'm at my favorite place on vacation. How everything else disappears. :teleport: I am not a :teacher:. I am not the cook, the maid, the dog walker, pet care provider, dishwasher, or almighty genie of the laundry. I am just a friend to my kids and partner to my husband. We share equally in the fun, the magic and most importantly the responsibility to ensure eachother's happiness. For a few days, we are actually on the same page. :wizard:

I will NOT leave a park with an unused FastPass--I will share the magic!

I love this! We couldn't use a Rock N Rollercoaster Fast Pass the last trip our family made to WDW and I couldn't see wasting them. As we were exiting the park, I tried to give the fast pass to a couple of families. One family looked at me like I was nuts. Two families actually said "no thanks" and finally a family took them. I had FOUR fast passes and people turned me down? Nuts or not, why not take fast passes if someone is offering them up? I can understand that the ride might not have been their speed, but it was pretty interesting to see how some people were "put off" by my coming up and speaking to them. It's Disney people - it's all good! :)

Lisa -- you are not alone. My DH and I always run ahead of our DSs and get them fast passes for what we "think" they will want to ride. Quite often (believe it or not), :rotfl2: we are wrong. :sad2: We have tried MANY times to approach people and give ours away too. You'd think we were asking them to do something horrible. :scared1: We WANT to share the magic people, please let us! :confused3 That's what Disney folks do. :grouphug:

I will buy the picture on splash mt of GS's making a goofy face even if DH & I don't like the way we looked in the picture. I got home and regret not buying that picture. Who cares if we had already bought too many ride pictures, that one was really cute.

I will not have a meltdown (well I'll try not to :) )

I will not discuss work, home, bills, or money on the trip :thumbsup2

I will not be upset with myself for not making it to the park at the opening

I will not run in the parks :rotfl2:

I will not wait in line for an attraction for more than 30 minutes.

I will not let DH ruin my magic. :wizard:

I will not feel like I have to see everything, because I WILL BE BACK!
Ha! So I guess that's the reason those"Grumpy" items sell so well! I too, have a grumpy DH, and while he won't realize he's having fun till much later, (like back at work in deep snow)we don't let that deter us from having the best time ever, and relishing each moment as it comes along!
And, in addition, 4 things for me...
1- I will avoid all emh times like the plague
2- I will wear a fanny pack, b/c it's great to be free!(even if I do look geeky)
3-I will buy at least one overpriced fun drink with whipped cream and drink it by a lovely pool in the sun!
4- I will buy all those great shirts and souvies from the character warehouses that I passed up last week, and now wish I'd gotten them!(oh,well, there's always next year)

1. I will not rush FI around the park until he wants to throw me out of the log on Splash :rolleyes1

2. I WILL take time to do sit down dinnes (thank you Dining Plan!)

3. I will not go during Christmas week

4. I will not go to the Universe of Energy or whatever incarnation it may be again.

:goodvibes

I hadn't been able to articulate this for myself -- yours, and the other, similar posts nearly brought tears to my eyes (and I'm just not the sort who tears up easily!). Yup -- we three (DH, DS, and I) keep going back because it is our special place and we're all just there, together, to have fun and enjoy our time as a family. I also echo the opinion/feelings of those who've regretted NOT taking care of themselves, and their own needs/wishes, too -- I realize that I will be a better vacation partner for DH and DS if I allow myself to do some of things that make me happy, too, and not just stress out over making sure they are happy every second.

Finally, the advice: rather than worrying over wasting a second at the parks, I will let us fly down there a little later in the day, since I know from experience that we'll want to have fun when we get there and that having gotten up at 3:30 a.m. to make a morning flight won't really buy us much happy time (it will in fact just ensure that we spend the first few days being exhausted)....

I WISH I wouldn't rush around the countries in EPCOT so much... my daughters are the thrill-seekers and they're more commando about our itinerary than I am!! Poor things, they try to let mom enjoy the little things of the park, but they just can't help themselves! Maybe I should just let them stand in a really long line to get on Test Track or Mission Space so that I can walk around the countries in peace!! :rotfl2:

What I WILL always do.....start reading these boards (and TGM) as soon as my next trip is booked to get me in the spirit of Disney magic!!! (and great info. too!!) pixiedust:

I will not let others make me feel bad for going again or spending money on WDW resorts.

I will not pass up the souvenier I wanted.

I will not lose my temper for anything. (try)

I will not schedule an ADR for breakfast.

I will not do anything commando.

I will not forget to cherish each moment I can with my DH and princesses....the facial expressions I have seen them make are priceless.

I will not ride Mission Space.

I will try not to leave everybody behind. I'm going with my parents,
my friends and their DD3 and her grandparents. So I will try to
remember that I don't have to do everything. The last time I went
with friends all they saw was the back of my head while I was leading
them to the next place.

I will not make any guaranteed ADR's - they were a pain, can't wait for a ride or show because you have to be somewhere for a meal or can't get a fast pass cause it conflicts.

I will not let people ruin my spirit by asking why am I going to WDW again.

I will enjoy each moment.

I will not live behind the camera the whole time.

I will have my picture taken with the characters too.

I will take my dd by the hand and show her the magic of the world.

I forgot to add....
I will not pass up buying the $11.99 mug even though I don't use them at the resorts. I love them at home!

I'll never go in the summer again. DH and I don't like the heat and we broiled on our Honeymoon - 90's everyday and heat index of 10. I got sun poisoning by the third day. I decided then that I would never go again in the summer.
