Things from the 70's and 80's that no longer exist... and you miss them.

Dance Party USA!!! Loved that show! Remember that girl that always mouthed the lyrics, I would always watch her and be like...ahhhaa you messed up on some of the words!

Big hair was so much fun and easy to do.

Guess and Jordache jeans

Playing Bloody Murder outside at night

Taking swigs of Pepsi from the fridge out of the glass bottle with that little plastic thingy on top that would snap on and keep the fizz in!(my parents never let us drink pop except on holidays)

Acid washed jeans

The Bee Gees (RIP Maurice)

The good ol' days before everything was so "PC" - when kids could wear Halloween costumes to school and sing Christmas & Hanukah songs at the holidays. Seems everyone's offended by something now.

Cool thread!

70's:

Braless women (sorry, just being honest)
Led Zeppelin in their prime
My high school rock band
Muscle cars (i.e. Camaros and Firebirds with 454 V8's)

80's:

My good looks and ripped physique
The parties!
Van Halen in their prime

Marathon candy bars (the braided chocolate bars)
....

Although I could take or leave most of your list... this is definitely what I miss- I loved those things- they were always cheaper than the regular candy bars but I loved the caramel.

At Easter I used to be able to find these gum eggs that looked liked a speckled sweet tart- but were gum- can't find those anywhere any more.

Chocolite candy bars were good.

Pizza Spins crackers- (we used to get those and buggles all the time)

Saturday Morning cartoons that were different than the stuff you could see every other day of the week- that ended with American Bandstand and Soul Train- then you went out to play... oh and that includeds School House Rock- I got the DVD- but like a pp said- it isn't the same

Family programming in prime time that was good for everyone- I do miss some of the sweet and friendly shows of my youth- I do enjoy some of today's shows- but I don't share that viewing with my kids like I used to do.

Benji Movies and posters from book clubs

Fun Meals (the original Happy Meal) from Burger Chef and the paper folding I'd do from the box- no toy needed the box was the toy.

Being able to see the old Disney movies in the movie theater year after year when they'd get re-released

Sears toy catalog- that is just soooo Christmas- and was so upset it went away

Those little plastic fruits filled with powdered candy-

The hard almost impossible to chew gum coming with collectors cards.

Children's programming being : Sesame street, Captain Kangaroo, Mr Roger's Neighborhood, The New Zoo Review, Electric Company, The Big Blue Marble and Zoom

The REAL Michael Jackson!

I second this. He may be the uber-freak of all time (he was actually pretty strange back then too), but the music from his albums Off The Wall and Thriller was sooooooo good. Those albums definitely defined the eras they were in.
