I hate when you write a long post and the system bumps you out...:headache:

I just subscribed to TouringPlans, I had an entire review of it and I don't feel like rewriting about it. It's worth the discounted price I got of $7.95. The Lines App is amazing, but I will always love EasyWDW the mostestest  Don't tell Josh, he might start charging too...

I like TouringPlans' "cheat sheets"; it will be SO easy to just hand the sheet to family and say, "this is how we tour" and it is easy to read.

I used Touring Plans last year for our trip and it was spot-on; I finally resubscribed (too early, but I just couldn't wait - wanted to wait until closer to our trip so that I could get the full year and see all my AP dates) and it appears that my tentative plans for our trip are good ones. I definitely recommend them to anyone I know planning a trip!

I actually also used that site for their October plans, I believe, and then once I saw Touring Plans collaborated with what easyWDW said, I was glad! I hope it all goes smoothly on such limited time for us - wish we had a few more days but oh well!

I made this for DNprincess: since she is still at the age where she still doesn't fully understand time.

You can make a countdown calendar however you like. Some people like to do interval countdown calendars; 100 days; 60 days, 10 days. I am doing a 1 month to go calendar. I plan on giving this to my niece a month before our trip, September 9. She can put a sticker on every day before our trip. I think it will be fun for her to do.

My first tip, if you are going to make a calendar, is to spend as little money as possible. I actually had all these materials already...:rotfl:...from other projects, so it was an easy choice for me. That is also why it is a monster theme and not a Disney theme, because I had monster stickers already. Look at what school supply materials you or your kids already have, maybe just make one on your computer to print out. Consider letting your kids make one or color one.

Make sure you do the calendar in pencil first; you don't want to make a mistake in sharpie and have to start over again. Measure all your lines out with a ruler.

Add in special things to do leading up to your trip. Disney movie night; Disney coloring day, Disney board game night, I am giving my niece a gift ealry because it will be too bulky to bring on our trip, so I wrote in special gift from Aunt ZZ in. I'm giving her this for her birthday...and YES, we our spoiling her rotten this trip! It's SO hard not to right ;)

So, first if your like me, at this point, everything I do all day is me trying to pass time until my Disney vaca. LOL, it's not that school and work isn't important, but my mind is...how much longer, how much longer, how much longer!!!! :rotfl:

I'm about close to being a month away from my trip and my first tip would be:

Tip #1:
As much as possible, purchase everything before your trip at least a month before your trip. I'm talking about clothes, bathroom supplies, whatever...

First thing is, if you have it way in advance, you won't have to make that midnight run to Walmart right before your trip or be freaking out because you forgot something. Planning to have all your packing necessities a month in advance gives you time to think about anything you need or don't need, want or don't want. It gives you time to organize it. It gives you time to relax! Last minute shopping should be one week before your trip unless you literally can't purchase it until right before you leave.

Also, you want to buy anything online asap. More likely than not, something will be backordered; you won't like it when it arrives and will need time to find something else; you buy the wrong size. So make online purchases early.

LOL Over-packers anonymous....& Early-packers anonymous. It's not organized right now, but hey, you can't be worse off than me right? :lmao:
Anyone want to bet I can't fit all that into the suitcase...bet I can ;)

I was going to use this to decorate our door at SSR. There might not be a front window for our villa, but balconies, so I figured I'd decorate the door, but then my DSIL was like, "Don't you think someone will steal it? It's very cute and easily takeable." :scared1: I wouldn't care but it took my friend a long time to make these for me & I would hate it if some ******* took it. WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO SUCK!:headache: I guess we are going to decorate just the inside of our villa.

I got my flu shot yesterday. I am not allergic to anything and have always done well with meds and in surgery and stuff. Also, last time I went to WDW, May this year, I came home with a NASTY bacterial infection that effected almost all of my body systems, so I really want to prevent from getting sick this time. It's not like I was licking the honey wall on Winnie the Pooh. There are just so many people and not everyone has good hygiene skills. Stuff spreads fast.

I also bought a small over the counter pharmacy yesterday too :goodvibes to ward off evil spirits. ;)

The flu shot is the least painful shot I've ever had, it's so tiny and they stick it in your shoulder, which is not a sensitve area really. I didn't even bleed when he pulled the needle out. My shoulder got a little sore and I have been a bit more tired lately, but I don't feel sick. Happy I did it.

Some people do get sick from the shot though, which is why I got it this early before my trip...:)

Camera, no camera, camera, no camera....AH! ok I bought the camera! Hope it's as awesome as it sounds, bought it as the "Today's Special" value, like that it has EasyShare and touchscreen and 720P. Hoping to do a live report at WDW. :goodvibes My only camera before this was my iphone camera.

I bought blue ;)

{link no longer valid}

Oh and enjoying the lovely tropical storm we are having in Florida, lovely excuse to stay inside and sleep off the flu shot. Glad I bought groceries yesterday :)

Eck, everytime I read something like this I get a "I don't WANNA go to WDW" feeling in my stomach. I am a HUGE medi-phobic; can't do needles, no hospitals, no "procedures". I get faint when I accidentally see commercials for something medical-related on tv - and God help me if they actually SHOW a surgery, a shot, or (worst of all) blood draw; I get ill and very lightheaded, and usually have nightmares that night. This means I do not seek out medical help until absolutely necessary (my usual admonition is "if I pass out, call an ambulance. Otherwise....."). I have had some really close calls because I won't go to medical facilities - once I "cut off" my thumb down all the way to the bone with a kitchen knife, and I just put a light tourniquet on it and slathered neosporin in there. I didn't go to the doctor for a week, and even then only because my whole hand was going numb (I'm in therapy for this phobia, but it's not really doing what I wish it would do).

So I have to ask - what was this bacterial infection!?? Where could you have gotten it? How did you get rid of it!? Sounds like the worst souvenir ever! :headache:

I don't know what kind of bacteria it was; my doctor put me on heavy antibiotics (pills) and I was fine in a week. Thank goodness most bacteria is easily killed. I have a fear of germs, mysophobia, actually; I'm not very phobic about it, but supposedly more than most people it seems. It's hard to completely ward off germs at Disney, but taking a daily vitamin helps, and I am taking Airborne chewies everyday while I'm there too. Make sure you wash your *arms*, not just your hands, after you go to the bathroom, after you eat and after you get off a ride (you touch a lot of stuff in lines and on the rides, those seats aren't cleaned in between passengers). Take a shower when you get back to your hotel; I don't see how people can not take a shower after being in a park all day sweating, and separate your dirty clothes in a bag of some kind.

But I did all this last time and got sick, so, it's just statisically, where there are lots of people and high traffic, there are lots of germs. Just do the best you can. Not everyone comes home sick from WDW. I heard they use over 700,000 gallons of bleach a year at WDW, so they do clean the place. I just had bad luck.

actually I should say you should wash your hands before and after you eat, and the easiest thing to do is carry wetones wipes with you everywhere, so your not always in search of a bathroom. You can find wetones at walmart or target in the bathroom travel and samples area.

that might be me and DSIL if we start to get on each other's nerve this trip...:rotfl:

Yeah, I heavy-duty clean myself while at WDW (oddly ok with germs, but terrified of the medical community - go figure), but I figure at WDW who knows WHAT people have! Last trip, I was super anal about staying clean, and then we were walking in MK and a woman turned as I was walking by and coughed full in my face. Actually felt the spit hitting my face as I walked; I was FURIOUS. And, of course, within two days I was so sick I could barely get out of bed. Then end of my trip was MISERABLE; oh boy, if I could find that lady.... !!!

On another note, days are flying by - trips are coming up!

I know it's exciting. Although at times reading negative posts on these threads can be a little disheartening. I'm going to try really hard to notice the good and not just the bad. We're going to be happy and we're going to have fun! :rotfl::rotfl:

Amen! We had a great time when we went in November, and it's going to be great next month too - I see all the naysayers, but it is completely subjective. For example, I know most people HATE the Leave-a-Legacy, but I love it - to each their own. Some people complain how slow the boats are, but some love the peaceful ride. I for one am not going to pay big bucks to go on vacation and then complain about it the whole time! (unless, of course, someone coughs in my face again; then I'm gonna smack down):wizard:

ONE MONTH MARK!!!!! AH! I'm so excited!!!!!!

And my pics finally posted again, only took forever!

And I'm loving the End of Life Ethics, all about death and grief class...I can't even begin to tell you how much blood we waste. No wonder blood banks are always begging for donations...and organs; read a few lovely real life stories about how idiot medical staff wasted organs due to stupid mistakes, like not knowing the patients blood type :headache: geez...

can't wait for vacation, back to reading medical cases...

Yay, the one month mark!!! :cool1: That's a major milestone in my vacation prep. Just gets you more and more excited.
