~~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip - or two - or three...~~ D~'s bag ~9/22 ~~

Exciting that you get to add an extra night! Nothing wrong with that!!!

I love your family story. I just recently switched jobs after 12 years and now do training coordination for social workers and foster parents and I've heard so many great (and not so great) stories about foster experiences, so I'm so glad to see you had a good experience and that all of you can come together this many years later. That warms my heart and really keeps me going when I hear the sad stories....

:woohoo: Annnd... In other trip news - I've just added an extra night on to our hotel stay... I've been watching airfare closely - and even though I haven't booked yet, it's been a constant 50% cheaper if we fly home a day later... I can always change later if I need to, but this works out better with our entire trip plan anyways. :woohoo: Soooo... Make this trip 9 nights & 10 days! :woohoo:

D~

Yaaayyy!! How exciting!

Yay for the extra night :cheer2:! I am excited to be all caught up with your PTR & TR (now that life is back on track)
I have missed everyone on the Dis and will be off to get caught up on my other "watched threads".

You have had a busy life yourself the last few months! How great that your family was able to visit for a long trip and that Allison gets to spend the summer in Europe!!! Sorry about all the sickness you all have went through .

I am confident you will get back on track with your healthy lifestyle! I was thinking I would suggest maybe you needed to limit your carbs until I read that you figured out it was your calorie intake. The Atkins approach has worked well for me as I have lost 30 lbs. the last year, but I have been trying to make it a healthier Atkins more like your way of eating with less carbs. Easter weekend was anything goes for me :scared: So I am back on track today!

I will add your Dad to my prayers and Thank You so much D~ for being my friend :grouphug:

Monica

I hope you found out why your dad is tired and falls a sleep when that's not normal for him.
Look like you had a great time at your dad.

I hope you have a great day at Target

Today I got Ulf to help me start cleaning my flat. It gets cluttered over time because it's so easier to just leave things out than putting them back where they belong when I'm done with it. Some stuff comes in to the house and I don't know where to put them so they end up on the piano or the table and it gets cluttered that way. But Now the tables and piano are free from clutter and I'm starting to get ready to have my parents and grandmother over for my birthday in 2 weeks.

Today it's 44.6ºF outside. That's warmer than normal. Normal temperature in March in Tromsø is around 27ºF.

I hope so too, but we did have a lot of fun. It was a good visit.

Thanks - it wasn't too bad.

I need to do some decluttering too... I've decided that I HATE mail... I just want to give our address away. LOL It must feel good to have your space clean!

I hope you enjoyed your nice day yesterday! :thumbsup2

It looks like you had a lovely visit with your family yesterday -- that's always so nice. And great job, V, on all of the driving on the freeway and through the metro! That's great! I managed to stay out of the Easter candy yesterday, which is actually quite amazing. I think it's because I was so busy fixing Easter dinner (we had seven people over for dinner) and getting the house ready. LOL!

Have a wonderful day!

We did, thanks! Yes - I was super proud of her, it's not easy to learn freeway driving.

Yay for you - I did not... I need to put it in the garbage. It's not as if we have that much of it - I spent maybe $10 total... But I still can't wrap my mind around the $$ wasted part.

It sounds like you had a nice Easter though - that's awesome!

how great that you get to stay one extra night at Disney

I am super excited... I'll talk a little bit about it below. :woohoo:

Great to hear you had a nice time with your family yesterday! I hope your Dad feels better soon

Yay! What great news! More days in Disney is always better!

It was a very nice day. :lovestruc

I am very excited about this - I will explain below. :thumbsup2

Wow... I cannot imagine how emotionally difficult your job could/must be. But I commend you - you are giving hope to so many. Thankfully - because my parents were so involved in my life and screened everyone mercilessly, I did get lucky and I did have 2 different foster families through out my life that were very meaningful and good people to me... I am still in contact with both of them - although the one family I only lived with for a very short time... My other foster family has been a pillar in my life in ways a person could never imagine... Honestly - if it wasn't for them, life as I know it would not exist - they took me in during a time of my life where I was at a fork in my road and nearing a wrong path, I was very impressionable - and they didn't give up on me ever - always leading by example and honesty... I was so lucky! They are beyond good people... And people I aspire to be like every single day... With out my relationship with them, I am convinced I would not have the relationship that I have with my girls, or the family life that I have. So, what you are doing gives hope to so many... I know there are bad situations - but having faith that you are doing the right thing, is important too. :lovestruc

Monica

Welcome back Monica! I know that life has been so stressful for you lately... I continue to pray that your family is doing better and mending... I still never did figure out if it was your mom or your sister who was ill... It was hard to tell from the posts that were shared on FB. Regardless - I said prayers for both. :lovestruc

Yes - I have been busy - but nothing compared to youl

Good idea! And exactly what I've been doing over the past few weeks. Definitely not "low carb" but "lower than average carb"... My daily goal - at the moment - is less than 100 carbs per day, and I've been hitting that consistently. Which is good. Hopefully, I will start to see more progress soon.

Congratulations on your loss.... I've always thought you looked great!!! :lovestruc Keep it up girl!

Thanks Monica and thank you - as well - for being my friend. I am happy to see you back!

**********************************************************************************************

I worked out yesterday morning and then I worked at Target all day - it went well. Boring, but fine.

Then I came home and worked in my sewing room for a while... I was able to get a little bit done.

Then I had to take V to town - she had a job interview and they offered her a job... She is very excited - but now I will be "sharing" my car with 2 girls, with 2 jobs, in 2 different towns - 20 miles apart. I have a feeling that my life just got a lot more chaotic! :scratchin

I came home and made leftover pizza from my Dad's... We had 2 full pizzas that we didn't even bake - plus all the pizza we left behind for him.

One of Allison's friends loaned V a prom dress for this year... Since V and Yohan are going to prom together... It's an adorable dress V tried it on for us last night - it's cute!

20160328_182011.jpg

20160328_182049.jpg

I had an online Pampered Chef party last night - which I didn't want to do, but did anyways... I am not big on home parties. But it was fun and easier than I thought it would be.

After - I went to bed.

Today... I will be heavy lifting - my knee seems to be doing very well over the last few days. I am still being careful - but no twinges of pain at all.

It's also dentist day for me... Again. :( I am not looking forward to having this tooth drilled out yet again... Praying like crazy that this works and I don't need to get a root canal. I am super nervous for this.

Depending on how long it takes, I may or may not come home... I should be able to though - I hope - as I have work I need to get done, even if it's only for a couple of hours.

I have my meeting tonight - so I will be picking the girls up from school and headed to BFF's house to visit for a while.

*************************************************************************************

Soooo.... I am very excited that I've added a day on to our trip.

As you may remember from Allison's trip... We had 4 Disney park days, 1 Universal day and 2 full days off plus our travel days... Which works out to 9 days. It was perfect.

But with V's trip... She wants to do MNSSHP as her extra that she is paying for - which means we'd have to do it on one of her days off... Which leaves this as a 9 day trip with only 1 day off... Not good. By adding that extra day in there - it does nothing, other than give us another day off... But that is a good thing.

So, V's trip shapes up something like this... 4 Disney park days, 1 Universal day, 1 MNSSHP day, 2 full days off and our travel days. :woohoo: And fingers crossed that it will be nice enough in October to swim too.

Our ADR days are closing in on us during the month of April... I don't think we are really doing any that I have to be diligent about snagging right away... but there is one that I should try to get on our 180 day for that meal. Otherwise - the rest of them are pretty easy meals to get.

I am getting very excited for this trip... Even though I do not have enough saved for airfare yet - I am working on that... I have been watching airfare like crazy, and hoping I can get it within our budgeted amount.

************************************************************************************

I hope you all have a marvelous day!!! Prayers and pixie dust to all! :grouphug:

My daughter has a similar airfare dilemma for our June family trip. The day she is scheduled to fly home costs so much more than the cost of flying home the next day. The difference is the cost of one more night at POR. But her DH doesn't want to stay another day. It is hard to wait to see what they do rather than give them advice.

My other foster family has been a pillar in my life in ways a person could never imagine...
You were really lucky. :) Did your foster parents have any other foster children? What motivated them to be foster parents?

We had beautiful weather on both of our October trips. You should be able to swim everyday. :)

Our ADR day is coming soon, too. The only one I want to get ahead of time is Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. That ADR is the only one that is a little tricky to get at the time I want.

One of Allison's friends loaned V a prom dress for this year..
That is a cute dress.
Does V have a rash on her neck. I had a rash like that and when I stopped drinking milk, it went away.

It's also dentist day for me... Again. :(
Hope the dentist goes better than expected and you don't need root canal.

Can't wait to see your ADRs.

--My girls know we are going to Disneyland. They never look at the calendar, but for some reason DD2 looked, and texted me why do we have a flight to CA? She was with my MIL who tried to play it off like Dh was going on a work trip, but she saw we had goofy's kitchen booked for breakfast. Now they can help us plan a little.

Your dad is just too cute and it looks like everyone had a great time celebrating him.

YAY! So excited you get an extra day on your trip.

V's dress for prom is just too cute! Saved you some money too. When I think about what I paid on prom dresses :crazy2:. The real kicker is, that I will not be packing them when we moved. They will either get tossed or donated. I have tried to sell them, but no such luck.

I am trying to stay positive on the house hunting. I decided if in the next few weeks my realtor does not start sending me better houses I will have to go find another. I don't like being like that, but I need someone who gets what I want.

Have a wonderful day!!

So fun to add another night to your trip! It will be a great trip. The dress looks great on V! And congratulations to her on getting the job! Yes, your life is going to be crazy with all the extra driving! Good luck at the dentist today. I've been putting of major dental work for so long...it's just not in the budget, but I really need to get it done. *sigh*

What are your best tips for getting good deals on airfare? I am watching for good deals for our trip out to visit my husband's family this summer, and for our oldest to come home for a week or two at the end of August. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can find some great deals.....

I'm glad to hear your knee is doing well.

Congratulations to V on her new job. I hope you figure out how to work it out with 1 car 2 girls with 2 jobs in 2 different towns and that it won't be as bad as you fear.

I came home and made leftover pizza from my Dad's... We had 2 full pizzas that we didn't even bake - plus all the pizza we left behind for him.
It's better with too much food than too little. You can probably put the pizza in the freezer and take a little bit out of the freezer at a time.

The prom dress V get to loan from Allison's friend looks great.

How great that your Pampered Chef party on the internet went well yesterday :)

Good luck at the dentist. Crossing my fingers that it works out today so you don't need a root canal

Still following along-I just don't often have time to post. It looks like your plans are coming along well and hurrah for the extra day added! We're doing 9 nights at the end of August, which also began as an 8-night trip. It's so easy to want to continue adding to its length, but work and my bank account keep that desire in check ::yes::. I don't know if you'll recall, but I initially was thinking that if my dh decided to do a golf trip in the Caribbean, it would give me a reason/excuse to do another Disney trip with my 9 year old dd. While my dh enjoys Disney, I just feel that perhaps his enjoyment is more limited to trying to be a good sport. Well, my almost 21 year old ds heard of my plans and said that he really wants to make the trip with us and then dh chimed in about how much he wants to go back, as well. So...we picked our trip time based on ds' college schedule and the somewhat lower crowds of late August. (I am actually a fan of September, but dd is now too old to pull from school for a full week, so likely won't do September for another 9-14 years--bummer.)Then, I came across a deal for The Poly that is about the same price as the rooms at a moderate and includes hoppers and a WP day. I am very excited because I honestly didn't think I'd ever be able to justify the expense of a stay there, plus, considering the fact that there will be four of us in the room, I will be grateful for the extra space in the room. I think, too, having the bars and easy transportation options will add to my dh's enjoyment. Both ds and dd are huge fans of the Harry Potter series of books, so we decided to spend a day at Universal (that sure has added a whole extra element of required planning-yikes). I am actually a little sick about it because for an added expense of $600, I am determined to plan that day as perfectly as possible. Based on your TR, it sounds like you and Allison had a great time at Universal!
Good luck at the dentist! I've had a root canal and it really was nothing. I just dislike novocaine.
Oh, and I also want to wish you well on your continued healthy living journey! It seems that you're doing great and recover quickly from bumps in the road.

I forgot to mention the reason I posted in the first place. I've been really watching fares for our August trip (out of MSP). I've noticed that for brief amounts of time, I come across reduced fares on Southwest. I ended up booking our return flight for $120 on Southwest. At the time I booked (last week), they also had flights to MCO for $120, but those flight times weren't good for us, so I booked the "to" flight on Sun Country. My dh felt it was worth the added expense of $30/ticket plus 2x baggage fee to start the trip on a decent amount of sleep for my 9yo, while still arriving by noon. The alternative would have likely cost us a day of "fun" if dd was extremely tired.

Hmmm.... I wonder what your dd will decide to do? I have no problem staying another night. V will miss one more day of school - but I am not too heart broken over it... It means we get an extra day to rest and enjoy WDW... and maybe even another breakfast at The Wave. :scratchin

Yes - I was very lucky... They did have other foster kids - but never any of us at the same time. They had a boy before me and another girl after. As far as I know - they are not in contact with either of them. The girl who came after me didn't stay long - and she had a very difficult time - it was enough and my foster parents decided they were done with fostering - they have since had many, many foreign exchange students. I lived with them for almost 4 years in high school and then out of the goodness of their hearts - I lived with them for another year when I was 20-21. They are both very giving people, I am not sure I want to share their story - as it isn't my story to tell, but they took my foster-dad's rough childhood experience and decided to change the lives of others... They are great people who compliment each other well.. and forever altered the path of my life. :lovestruc

Thank you - I think it went OK? I'll talk a little about it below.

V has super sensitive skin... It seems she is always having an allergic reaction to something. I think, this time, it was the sequins from the dress that were irritating her neck?

That is very exciting!!

Sounds like you will be very busy driving/ sharing you car with your girls

Yes - I still don't know how we are going to work it out? I was thinking about it last night - and I don't think it's going to go well - not with out a lot MORE excess driving... and the miles are really starting to rack up on my car - so I am getting a little annoyed with that.

I have not purchased anything yet - I need to figure that out this morning. I am looking at getting a second hamburger masher thingy ( I guess it's called a "mix n' chop"?) - I love mine and it seems like it's always dirty because I am always using it. I am also looking at getting a second set of The Basic Tool set... I have mine from a party I did well over 10 years ago - and I love them, so I think I want a second set? Then maybe a classic scraper? So far, that's all I have on my list. :scratchin I have a lot more Pampered Chef stuff than I realized I had - as I am going through the catalog, I realized that I don't really need much... The stuff I have though - I love. ::yes::

Thanks - I will talk about it below - I think this time went better - sort of.

Figures - LOL... I bet they are excited though! :woohoo:

Your dad is just too cute and it looks like everyone had a great time celebrating him.

Yes- I love him... I think he had a fun time? I hope he did anyways.

I am pretty excited about it - it just means an extra day off - but we will need it, I am sure.

Well, we kind of hinted at borrowing one for this year - then spending the $$ next year for her Senior prom. I didn't think she would actually seek out a borrowed dress and find one she liked - so I am a little relieved that she was able to. So, now she just has to buy shoes and a different bra to go under it - which is a better use of her limited funds, IMO.

What a bummer that you can't keep your dresses... I am sure that who ever gets them will enjoy them! :lovestruc

I agree - realtors who don't listen and understand what you want aren't good... I agree that you should probably find another one. Best of luck!!! I sure hope you find a house soon!

Thanks - same to you!

So fun to add another night to your trip! It will be a great trip. The dress looks great on V! And congratulations to her on getting the job! I hope so... It should be a great trip!

V seems pretty excited about it.

Yes - I am NOT looking forward to that... I still have NO idea how in the world we are going to work it out? I was laying in bed last night trying to figure out the logistics and I don't think it will work out at all. :scratchin

Thanks - I think it went OK - I will talk more about it below.

Well - I don't really have any... LOL I just keep checking every day - sometimes multiple times per day and I always have a budget in mind... Once it goes below my budget - I grab it and stop looking... Unless I am flying on SW - because I know they will give you the better price if you see it. I sure hope you are able to find airfare with in your budget!

I'm glad to hear your knee is doing well.

Congratulations to V on her new job. I hope you figure out how to work it out with 1 car 2 girls with 2 jobs in 2 different towns and that it won't be as bad as you fear.

Thanks Lillian - my knee is going much better... I am still nervous about running on it, but it's finally not as painful when I am doing things that were causing pain before... So, I plan to give it more time.

I sure hope we can figure out the logistics of it all - it's going to be crazy! Once Allison is gone for the summer though - it will settle down, as we won't have to worry about her getting to work all the time - it's just getting to that point.

Thanks - I am so relieved that she was able to find a borrowed dress that she likes! I think she should save her $$ and spend it next year on her Senior Prom, instead of this year - as that prom is more important.

I am very excited to have an extra Disney day!!! It will be so nice!!!

Very cute dress! I love the color. Is it a junior prom, or the senior prom? Either way that's exciting both your girls will be going to a prom this year!

I hope everything goes ok at the dentist!

This sounds like such a great trip! It is always good to have some rest days

I think it's a really cute dress too! It's her Jr. prom - so I feel like it's perfectly acceptable to borrow a dress... Next year - if she chooses, she can spend the $$ on the dress she really wants. ::yes:: I think Allison has decided not to go to prom this year - which I am bummed about... She missed out on it last year because she was dating Gus... And she's decided this year that it's just too much $$ while she is trying to save for Europe... She is very much regretting her decision now to quit so abruptly at Target last year... It's still setting her back. Hopefully it was a good life lesson for her?

I think it went better? I'll talk a little about it below.

I am very excited to have some extra Disney time... even if it is just a day off - those are nice too. :lovestruc

It's so easy to just add an extra day - isn't it... Especially before airfare is booked. Once i have airfare - I always feel like our trips are set in stone and cannot be changed.

Excellent about staying at the Poly! I love it! I still hope to stay there one day - it's such a beautiful resort - I am sure you will just love it and the rest of your family too! :lovestruc

Universal is awesome - but I agree, it was a whole different element of planning... It wasn't nearly as dreadful as I anticipated it to be though, because it just isn't as complicated as Disney is. It's definitely a huge added expense though - and it really hurts the wallet. We had a great time there though - and I am excited about going back! :woohoo: I did a simple search on Pinterest for the HP portion and after a few hours of research one night - I felt confident that I would be able to navigate that area just fine... In retrospect - I thing I would have done OK without Santos, but it was an added bonus to have him with us. ::yes::

Thank you - that is good to know... I am very nervous about this whole tooth ordeal...

Yes - things seem to be going so much better than they were... It helps if a person isn't eating too much... LOL Now I feel like i have my intake in check and I am moving in the right direction again.

I've been watching closely... And I am really trying to hold out for better fares... For our trip in Oct - they are still pretty high. Hopefully they will come down soon? :scratchin But excellent idea - I always forget that I can book one direction at one time then the other direction later... ::yes::

Thanks for stopping by - it was good to see you again! :lovestruc

*************************************************************************************************

Soooo... Yesterday... I did my heavy lifting - I also did my weighted lunges for the first time since I injured my knee... I did them as heavy as I normally do - but I only did 2 sets instead of my normal 3... My knee feels fine this morning - so I am hopeful that I am on the right track to a decent recovery. I still intend to take it slow and easy over the next few weeks - just to be sure. But I do, very much, hope to be running again very soon. ::yes::

Then I went to town for the dentist... The was a *fun* <sarcasm> experience... It took them 1 hour and 9 shots of novocaine to numb me up enough to do the work.... So that was frustrating - and it was really making me anxious about the actual work. Once the dentist had the other filling cleaned out - he discovered a very small crack in my tooth.... He did a few extra things to this new filling - in the hopes that it will help... It was an extra sealant or something. :scratchin Plus - he worked much harder on it this time... So, I am hopeful that this takes care of it. It took a good portion of yesterday for the full feeling to return to my face - trying to eat and drink during that time was definitely a challenge. However, when I got home from my meeting last night - I did take a nice cold drink of water from the fridge and no shooting nerve pain - I even swooshed it around that tooth a little. So, I am very hopeful - but still a little nervous that it didn't work. We'll see...

The dentist took much longer than I had hoped - so I had to rush home to get as much work done as I could get done before I had to leave to get the girls from school. I was happy with my progress yesterday - considering the short time I had to work.

I picked the girls up from school - we grabbed Chipotle to eat for dinner later... We ran some errands and met up with BFF and O... I had to go to Sam's Club and don't have my own membership... BFF was nice enough to let me use her's.

V drove home after my meeting and did a great job... Overall she is doing much better with her driving - we've had a few close calls recently - but thankfully the other people were paying attention. One of them was when she was backing out of her parking spot after her interview - we had a HUGE plumbing van parked next to us - limiting her ability to see traffic coming from behind it... Yah - she almost backed into oncoming traffic. Thankfully the person saw her coming and was able to stop... but it's just things like that - where she needs to use caution.

Today... I will be working out this morning... I've had a good 2 days of eating after my slight off day on Easter/Dad's birthday. So, it always feels good to be back on track. I still have not weighed after restarting again - I am thinking next week? :scratchin Next week will be 4 weeks, and I am hoping for a good amount of progress. ::yes::

Otherwise - i will be in my sewing room all day... I am hoping to finish one of my side projects and also stay moving on my custom order this week. So far, so good - considering I didn't get much time to work yesterday. :thumbsup2

I hope you all have a marvelous day today!!! Pixie Dust to all! :grouphug:

Oh no 9 shots of novocaine to numb you enough doesn't sound nice :scared1: I would have died if it was me. I'm glad you survived and that you didn't feel pain when drinking really cold water later in the day :woohoo:

Sounds like you and V need to find a huge parking lot with a lot of huge vans and trucks parked so she can get some practice :)

Have a great day in your sewing room

Before Easter my occupational therapist called and asked if I could come to an appointment at NAV (Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) to try electrical wheelchairs on Wednesday after Easter. So today Ulf and I went to NAV. I was sure that the case handler hadn't order a chair for me and that she wanted me to try a chair again before ordering me one. So I was a little mad when I turned up there. It turned out I had nothing to be mad about. I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Not only was my new electrical wheelchair there, but my Lipo Lumo (the electric wheel to mount on my manual wheelchair) was also there. We spent an hour customizing my electrical wheelchair. When that was done we took a look at the Lipo Lumo and concluded that it would be best if the man from the company that sells the wheel comes to NAV and customize it for me. So on Monday Ulf and I are going back to NAV to get the Lipo Lumo customize and then we can take it home :dancer:
The new electrical wheelchair has to be delivered to my house since I don't have a car to transport it with yet. That will happen on Friday this week.

I have to take the electric wheelchair to the garage where my car is customized at so we can test the wheelchair in the car to see that everything is working as it should. I think that will happen in mid May. I will once again have to get someone to come and pick up my electric wheelchair and take it to my new car and then get them to take it back home again when we're done. I'm crossing my fingers that I will have my new car in the end of May.

That doesn't sound fun at all. Hopefully it does the trick this time.

I hope the dentist fixed your tooth so that you don't have to go back there.

I think I told you that I had lost my FitBit - Flex on the train. Well, I decided to order the Charge HR and it came Monday. I had a whole day of usage and I love it. I'm really glad that I upgraded the FitBit. I like knowing my heartrate. The stairs feature is a little off for me, though, since it will register stairs when I am riding the elevator.

An extra benefit is that now I have a clock so that I can tell what time it is at Disney without pulling out my cell phone. ;) It is all about priorities. :)

I think it's a really cute dress too! It's her Jr. prom - so I feel like it's perfectly acceptable to borrow a dress... Next year - if she chooses, she can spend the $$ on the dress she really wants. ::yes::
Oh ok gotcha. My school didn't have a JR prom for some reason, so that's nice she will get to experience prom twice if she chooses!
I think Allison has decided not to go to prom this year - which I am bummed about... She missed out on it last year because she was dating Gus... And she's decided this year that it's just too much $$ while she is trying to save for Europe..
Aw, that's too bad. Honestly, when I really thought about it after it actually happened, while prom was fine and it is fun, it is not some huge spectacular event if one's life. Seniors in high school make it seem like that way but it's really just like a dance where you wear a nicer dress lol. I think saving the money for Europe is such a great idea, because a big trip like that is much more fun and exciting then a prom.::yes:: Prom just leaves you with a dress, some pictures, and a few good laughs, but I think a trip to Europe leaves you with memories that will last a lifetime!:lovestruc

Glad the dentist wasn't too bad, it's good you don't have pain in the tooth.

Super cute prom dress for V!

I feel your pain on the teen driving thing. Overall Jillian does great, too...but then there are times~ oh boy! She actually did back into someone while we were out shopping one day. She lucked out big time, because the lady decided to not report it or exchange information at all. She even had a big dent in the side of her car. My guess is that she did not have insurance, and it is a law here to have it. Her statement to us was that her husband does not like the "po-lice" and did not want to report it. It was a great wake up call for Jillian though. It shook her up bad, and she cried for some time about it. She is much more cautious now. She left with very little damage to her own car, just a little scuff to the bumper.

So excited that you and V get an extra day for your trip!!!!

I have also been watching airfare for October and it remains high from MSP. I prefer direct flights, I hate layovers! I hope your tooth continues to feel good. I was so mad when I let the dentist talk me into the white filling and it was super sensitive for about three weeks but it is good now. My DD Andi is also learning to drive, she needs more practice especially at night. She hasn't driven much this winter so has to get back into it, she is not really to interested in driving so I haven't pushed but she is 16 and will want her license soon I'm sure. You are great taking V so much, sometimes I get so nervous! Have a great weekend.

Well, I am still having pain where all of the novocaine shots went in - but otherwise my tooth seems to be OK? I am still nervous that it isn't, because every time I eat/drink something cold, I expect it to hurt - and i sometimes *think* it hurts, but it doesn't. I am giving it a few days before I do a happy dance, but I am getting more and more hopeful. :lovestruc

Yes - I do a lot of parking lot stuff with the girls - but I tend to do it more in the summer time. :thumbsup2

This is so exciting!!! I cannot believe all of the parts and pieces of this are coming together so smoothly! :woohoo: It won't be long now! I am so excited for you! :lovestruc

That doesn't sound fun at all. Hopefully it does the trick this time.

How exciting for you!

I hope so too - thank you. It seems to be OK as of now... I am cautiously hopeful. I still have a lot of pain where the novocaine went in, but it seems like the nerve pain may be gone? I don't want to jynx it yet though. LOL

I hope the dentist fixed your tooth so that you don't have to go back there.

I sure hope so too - I am cautiously hopeful right now... I've been drinking and eating cold things - things I couldn't tolerate before, and there doesn't seem to be any pain. But I am afraid to say that it worked completely - because sometimes I still think there is a little bit of pain, but I can't tell if that's my brain or my tooth... It's definitely improved though. ::yes:: I will certainly have to go back for the crown - we are still waiting on the estimate from insurance... But if I don't get this crown - I risk this tooth cracking more - or this filling falling out again - so sadly - I don't think I can avoid that one.

I am so excited for you!!! I am glad that you upgraded! :woohoo: I just did the regular Charge, and I really do like it a lot. I am glad you enjoy knowing your HR... I debated on it - but in the end I decided not to. Enjoy your new toy!!! :woohoo:

Oh ok gotcha. My school didn't have a JR prom for some reason, so that's nice she will get to experience prom twice if she chooses!

Yes - I am glad she is going... Especially since Allison didn't go.

Thank you for that insight.... I was feeling a little badly that Allison chose not to go both years, I just didn't want her to miss out on the experience... But you are right - after all, it is just a dance and taking her trip will bring her far more memories and fun - I am sure.

I am cautiously hopeful... It's definitely better than it was... I keep eating cold/hot things that I couldn't tolerate before and I keep expecting there to be pain - so I wince , but then I am like "oh, that didn't hurt"... LOL I am afraid to say that it's fixed yet - but I am very hopeful that it is. :thumbsup2

Thanks - I thought it was cute too and the price is right. :thumbsup2

Oh wow - she did get lucky!!! Kind of a scary story if you think about it... Who knows what that person wanted to avoid with the "po-lice"... :scratchin We are also a state who's law is to have insurance - so sometimes people find that the person at a fender bender will just pay cash to avoid the police... Glad no one was hurt and the damage was very little. :lovestruc

We are very excited! :woohoo:

I agree - I also hate layovers... But as long as they are short - they aren't too bad. The 4 hour layover Allison and i had at O'Hare in January sucked - I will never do that long of one again. We had an hour layover on the way home and that was actually nice - long enough to get off the plane, use the restroom and grab a quick snack. I'd do that again.

Thanks... I think it is better - I am very cautiously hopeful... I continue to eat cold/hot things that would give me pain before and I still expect there to be pain - but there really isn't. Maybe a twinge? Soooo... Fingers crossed. ::yes::

I know I've talked about this at length lately... But personally - I find it soooo important to give them as much driving experience as possible, in as many different conditions as possible. I'd rather have them learn how to drive in the snow/ice or on freeways with me in the car - than to have to learn on their own, and potentially injure themselves or others... Every single time it snows - I try to get her out driving before the plows go through - because there is NO other way she will get winter driving experience, unless she is out there doing it. Over the years, I've learned that us Minnesotans have a very unique skill - driving on snow and ice - it's not a skill that comes easily and the only way to learn is by practice... It is my biggest fear - that I if I don't take the time to teach them this skill while I can - they will be forced to learn on their own, and I would be beyond myself with grief if I got a call one day that they were seriously injured in an accident or seriously injured someone else, because I didn't take the time to teach them how to drive in these conditions... I always give V warning if I hear that snow is coming - and we get out there - as I couldn't live with the alternative. I fear that I didn't get enough snow/ice driving practice with her this year - it's not over yet, but the opportunities are getting fewer... I've already told her - if by chance, she gets her license before next winter - she will not be allowed to drive in the snow/ice alone, until I feel she is ready - which means I will be out there again with her next year. The car is a totally different beast in those conditions and this is something I am soooo passionate about - so my apologies for giving my opinion. :lovestruc I hope you are able to get Andi out there as much as possible - and hopefully you still have some winter left up there to do that. ::yes::

Also, we are very fortunate that we live out in the country - so any trip to town and home again almost guarantees her an hour of driving time - most of which is on roads that we have to ourselves... It's a great place to learn. But as long as I am in the car - she always drives - always. Allison had her hours in within a couple of months after getting her permit, and V is well over halfway there. We still have a lot of stuff to work on - like parking mostly - and we will get to that. I just recommend that you really take this time to teach at every opportunity, and every road condition possible, even though it's scary - it's much more scary for me, if they have to learn without me. Good luck! It's not an easy thing to do, but the alternative is so much worse. :thumbsup2

**************************************************************************************************

I had a mostly decent day yesterday... I worked out right away. I am really starting to feel like there is progress, and I am feeling really good about it. However - I still see pictures of my face, and I still feel like it's pretty puffy and bloated - so I am not sure what is going on there? :scratchin

I worked all day in my sewing room - it was a good day and I made a lot of progress.

After lunch - I took a quick nap... Typically, I am a quick napper - yesterday was a 20 minute nap and it felt good. I woke with the intense urge to reorganize my closet... It's been a disaster for months now! Part of the issue is that even though it's a walk-in closet, there really is no organization in it.... So, I emptied it out on to my bed and started organizing. I also moved a shelf in from another area of the house, which we weren't using for anything specific... I used this to stack my tank tops/tee shirts/shorts on... Hopefully this will keep them better organized and I won't have to dig so often. I also packed away my winter clothes - mostly - and pulled my summer clothes forward. I have a huge stack of clothes to donate. It felt good to get this done - I still feel like there is a lot of organization work to be done, but for the moment, this is an improvement. :thumbsup2 Also - I realized that I have a LOT of clothes in my goal size - which I am not wearing yet... I really need to remedy that. ::yes::

Today... It's a heavy lifting day - squats are on the agenda... I did them last week with no knee issues - so I am hoping for the same today.

Then I will be working upstairs all day today again.

I hope you all have an amazing day!!! Pixie Dust to all! :lovestruc
