Totally off topic but today I attended funeral visitation for a friend who tragically drowned on Saturday. He was 43. The gentleman always had a smile for others and made you feel like you were the most important person around when he spoke to you.

Please send some prayers to his wife and two children (ages 10 and 8).

I 'Facebooked' with your husband about this. It is so sad for those left behind, but to die a hero certainly would be an honorable way to leave this life. So, so sorry for these kids not having their wonderful dad, though, and for the mom who will now have to face the days ahead on her own. I hope she has a great support system in family and friends. Thoughts and prayers for comfort for all of them.

As pooksma said earlier, thank you all. We weren't really close with Mitch but we did think of him as a friend and it has been a tough week. He was a great guy and it is still hard to imagine that he is gone. We are glad that his wife and kids have a great network of friends to help them get through this tragedy.

Should be a quick week. Declan leaves for a basketball camp in Moncton today and he has a soccer jamboree next weekend so his week will fly by. I have a couple of meetings (one on a golf course) and a national softball championship to pay a visit to. Pooksma will be obsessing about packing and getting ready to go.

Can't wait!!!

The excitement builds! Being very busy is a good thing, because the days do fly by! It's also a scary thing, because before you realize it, you better have everything packed and ready to go!

I am going to be an auntie!

My brother and his wife are expecting their first child and today they found out they are having a girl I have several nieces and nephews through declansdad, but this is the first (and possibly only) one on my side. Guess I know what to look for on this trip: princess onesies!

Congrats on the shopping for all, Declan is pretty brave to be in that contraption...when we were trying to convince Snow White to try RnRC a few years ago she said "what does it feel like to go upside down?" I told her I didn't know because I was scared and kept my eyes closed every time I thought we'd be doing a loop, because if I didn't see it, it never really happenedShe thought I was kidding

First, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope that the family has a lot of support to get them through this difficult time.

Second, your PTR reminds me a lot of mine - with all of the shopping lol You did get some great trip stuff though!
