They'd Better Get Ready on the East Coast!! May 2009 **TR started on TR boards!!**

Ooh! I think I might have to try the Neutrogena peel! I love the picture of Eddy (sp?) with the peep on his head!! How cute!

I can't wait to see what else you bought!

:thumbsup2 Those Falls photos are amazing! I love that you took a picture of your IHOP breakfast! :rotfl2:

Haha I've never had grits, country ham or fried okra. I don't even know what country ham or fried okra are LOL. I've seen grits at Disney but have never been brave enough to try them... they look kind of yucky to me *ducks*.

Nope, neither. But we DO have back bacon (I think you guys call it Canadian bacon?), poutine (fries with cheese and gravy YUM), maple sugar candy, Coffee Crisp chocolate bars and other yummy things!:goodvibes

Haha that's so funny! I usually break out the T shirts once it hits 0 (32*F) but I do wear a coat over top!! Did you catch which province the license plate was from?

Grits are an acquired taste, so I don't fault you for not having tried them. Country ham - :cloud9: aaahhh.. so good on a biscuit! It's ham cured by salt, so it's... salty. But soooo good.

What we list as "Canadian bacon" is just ham. Not real bacon. With all its fatty goodness, tasting all yummy on a biscuit or in oatmeal, or with a biscuit smothered in gravy. (Can you tell that I will one day have high cholesterol?)

I'm so sad for you that you've not tried fried okra. :sad2: It's just *wrong*. I've been eating that stuff since I can remember! I forget that ya'll don't have okra up north.

What a cute dog you have! And such a good sport about posing with the peep. I can't eat those, they make me sick, but I had a roommate in college who was pretty obsessed and ate them all the time, whenever they came out. At first it was just around Easter, but then they started having Halloween peeps, and Christmas peeps, and peeps for all occasions. :rotfl:

I love Target. I can easily spend two hours there. Actually, I worked at Target from the time I turned 16 until I went to college, and it was soooo hard not to just buy everything!

Yay for your Target finds! I was so one of the people curious about that Smooth Away stuff... Thank you for sharing! I totally want a ShamWow too! I can't stand the commercial... but I want one! Cant' wait to see what else you got! :goodvibes

The Pup & the Peep picture is too great! :rotfl: I "inherited" if you will my grandfathers chow puppy when he passed away years ago. She was all black and looked like a little bear. I loved her! The problem was she loved no one, but me. :confused3 We eventually had to give her away because she was horrible to anyone, but me. It was so sad. Now I have a little weenie dog with one blue eye and one brown eye named Pollyanna (great Disney movie! :cutie: ) I also have a gianormous orange cat named Mr. Sherbert. They are my furry children. :lovestruc

I've never even thought about the fact that we have things that yall don't...but I do feel sorry for you every time I see the price on something and Canadians have to pay 2-3 times the price!! :scared1:

It sounds like you and your mom had a wonderful day! :) I might post pictures of our shopping trip, but probably not...I'm planning on taking the shirts to Disney, and I don't want to spoil my outfits that I'll post closer to time! ;) But I LOVE reading about yours!!

I love, love, love the peel so far. At first I was like uh oh... this is making my skin worse... but I think it was really just bringing all the dirt and oil up to the surface. It is so smooth and clear now! It has definitely changed my skin and it hasn't even been a week. I am a huge fan!!

:thumbsup2 Those Falls photos are amazing! I love that you took a picture of your IHOP breakfast! :rotfl2:

Yeah, I don't get out much do I?:rotfl:

Is okra like a vegetable? I googled pictures of it and it looks a little ummm... questionable. Kind of like fried asparagus all chopped up or something. I've never had biscuits and gravy though, I'm planning on trying that at WDW in May. Geez, our food here in Canada is too healthy!:rotfl2: Not fair!

Really? Peeps make you sick? Oh, that makes me so sad for you. They might be my favourite food LOL (well. that is if that count as a food...). I've only ever seen Easter Peeps before but I keep checking the stores to see if they're out yet. I can eat about 5 packages a day!!!

Loving the purchases so far!! I really want to get a ShamWOW! :lmao:

They really DO work!:scared1: They smell a bit weird at first, almost like buttered popcorn, but that goes away and although I don't say "WOW" every time... I get pretty close!:rotfl2:

Yay for your Target finds! I was so one of the people curious about that Smooth Away stuff... Thank you for sharing! I totally want a ShamWow too! I can't stand the commercial... but I want one! Cant' wait to see what else you got! :goodvibes

Awww I have a soft spot for chow chows. Our dog is actually super friendly, we think maybe he isn't a purebred chow. Maybe a chow mix or something. He's really timid and when we kenneled him in December they had to keep him with the little toy poodles and terriers and such because he was petrified of the dogs his size and wouldn't play with them or go near them!:rotfl: I love the names Pollyanna and Mr. Sherbert! They are so cute!

I've never even thought about the fact that we have things that yall don't...but I do feel sorry for you every time I see the price on something and Canadians have to pay 2-3 times the price!! :scared1:

Ugh it was even worse when the dollar was at parity and we STILL had to pay the Canadian prices for things like books and magazines and clothing. We were not too happy about that.

Oh! Well I can't wait to see your outfits closer to your trip time!! Surprises are more fun.:goodvibes

I can't believe you guys don't have Sierra Mist! I :lovestruc that stuff! I wonder why? I mean, you've got regular Pepsi and Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper, right? Those are all Pepsi products. :confused3 Hmmmm...it's always so interesting to hear about the differences between Canada and the U.S. Your PTR is so educational, Meg! :thumbsup2

Oooh lip gloss! You can never have too much lip gloss! :rotfl: Especially if it's Peeps flavored!

Your doggie is so cute! :goodvibes

Thanks for the Smooth Away review. I was thisclose to buying one online and trying it out. Glad to know I didn't waste my money.

Tim Hortons! Yummy!!! We DO have Tim Hortons here, and we  it. My dad, who used to be in the restaurant business, worked for Tim Hortons as a general manager for several years when I was in junior high. Sometimes when he worked the late shift, he would bring us home some of the doughnuts that they were going to throw away. :woohoo: It was great! He had to go to Canada for a couple months for training, and he loved it there. :cloud9:

I loved all your purchases! :yay: I feel like I'm shopping precariously through you! :rotfl: I can't wait to see what else you got!

Hope you're having a good day! :cheer2:

Girl, you have never had biscuits and gravy? You need to come on down to Texas, and we can fix you up right! (and you have to imagine that being said with a totally southern accent!!) :rotfl: :thumbsup2

I don't know about you, but I find bacon gravy superior to sausage gravy. Especially if you fry it extra crispy, then crumble the bacon over the biscuits & gravy *insert drooling smiley here*

Aw, your dog is absolutely adorable. Love the Peep on his head. My DM and MIL are obsessed w/ those things too.

Every time Kenny Rogers is mentioned the first thing that pops into my head is the Seinfeld episode with Kenny Rogers chicken.:rotfl:

HA! That is one of my favorite Seinfeld episodes...EVER! I love when Kramer is sitting in bed, eating chicken, and the sign goes out. He just sits there saying, "Kenny? Kenny? KENNY?!?!?" So classic!!! :lmao:

Sierra Mist is so good! I was tempted to take a picture of the soda dispenser because it looked so different to me! They had Hi-C too which we don't have here and it made me feel like I was in Disney!

Yeah, the Smooth Away isn't worth buying IMO. I'm going to try it again today just for fun but shaving is so much easier! The SA does make my legs really smooth but boy do you have to work for it!:rotfl:

Girl, you have never had biscuits and gravy? You need to come on down to Texas, and we can fix you up right! (and you have to imagine that being said with a totally southern accent!!) :rotfl: :thumbsup2

Nope, I sure haven't! And guess what?! I actually just found out I'm going to Texas in July!:lmao: So I'll have to get my fill of biscuits and gravy and whatever else I can find then. We're going to San Antonio, do you know much about it? I'm helping out at a conference for my parent's company but staying a few days extra at the end to sightsee.:goodvibes

Bacon and sausage gravy? I've never heard of such things LOL. The only kind of gravy I've had is turkey gravy. I am so missing out!

Any new outfits? popcorn::

I'm going to try and get our photo session outfit posted by tonight! I've been slacking in that department, I know LOL.

I am a huuuuge Seinfeld fan.:thumbsup2 My mom and I quote it all the time at Disney whenever we see a wait for 5 or 10 minutes posted, we do the "it'll be about five, ten minutes" thing from the Chinese restaurant.:rotfl: We amuse ourselves at least. And then when we get on the ride... "Cartwright! Four!" LOL

I love the pooch with the peep picture! Too cute. Furbabies really are great aren't they? :lovestruc

I love hearing about all the stuff you guys have that we don't & vice versa. I tend to think of Canada as just an extension of the states! I know, so provincial of me!

Just so you know, I've lived in the South most of my life & still don't like okra! Grits are just okay. :ssst: Psst - here is another shocker, *looks around for flying objects* - I don't like crawfish! :duck:

But I DO love IHOP! And I always get the Harvest Nut pancakes. Oh, yum! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.::yes::

So today I am posting a non Disney post because it is Toronto's 175th Birthday! Although I complain about the cold a lot, I really do love my city.

Spaceship Earth, anyone?

I love most of the common "southern" foods. We were thinking about doing a crawfish boil soon.. Yum! I am a fan of IHOP, but still nothing beats a home cooked breakfast IMO. :goodvibes

San Antonio is super fun! There is lots to do there. You can go to Sea World even! They also have the River Walk which is a fun thing to visit. You can google it. :goodvibes You will have a geat time! I have not been in a really long time though.

:bday:

Happy Birthday Toronto! It's my sisters birthday today too! :cutie: She is only 25. ;)

Those pictures are great! It does look like an amazing place to live! One day I will visit...

Oh, happy birthday to your sister!!!:cool1: :cool1: Hope she has a wonderful day.:goodvibes

I didn't know there was a Seaworld in San Antonio! And I'm off to go look up the Riverwalk, I haven't heard of that. Thank you!

The Harvest Nut pancakes are the BEST. I don't even put anything on them, I just like them plain.

There are actually quite a few differences between Canada and the US... but I don't think there are too many major ones. I've heard that you guys don't have ketchup chips though? Or butter tarts? Let's see... we spell all our words with "u"s, we've got colourful money (and loonies and toonies:laughing: ), no Presidents day or Memorial day, provinces instead of states, Nestle chocolate bars, MuchMusic instead of MTV, Prime Minister instead of a President, a whole different political system (which I find somewhat crazy lol), different drinking ages... 18 or 19 here depending on the province, toques instead of hats, we pronounce Z "zed", we have chocolate bars instead of candy bars and we call fries "chips", we have mounties! , gay marriage is legal here:woohoo: , Mrs Vickie's potato chips:lovestruc , we don't have JC Penny, Kohl's, Marshalls, Target, Macy's or basically any other department stores, we just have The Bay and Sears... we measure everything with the metric system (kilos, metres, centimetres, use celsius instead of fahrenheit, apparently we have an accent which I don't hear LOL, we call couches chesterfields and napkins serviettes, we've got Liberals instead of Democrats and Conservatives instead of Republicans, and we have more than 2 major parties... culturally though I don't think there are huge differences. :confused3 I do love visiting the US though, especially for the shopping and the climate!:goodvibes

Eek I'm not going to get the next outfit posted today, I'm just about to run out the door to see Vicky Cristina Barcelona. I promise I'll update with the new one tomorrow!

We have ketchup chips in Maine!! They are so yummy. I can't find them anywhere in Massachusetts. :headache: Marc and I trying to plan a weekend getaway in the Fall and he mentioned Toronto today and I thought of you! :thumbsup2
