So I wanted the PPTA rotation, just like everyone talked about last week here on the Dis. The second night being the Pirate night in Parrot Cay. So when I called to request it this morning, she's like huh?? No, no, we rotate the dinners at different restaurants each night and repeat one of them at a different time. I then said (politely), no no no, thats not what my Dis friends told me. ;) I explained the "news" to her about the 4 night rotation and she insisted on checking with her supervisor...5 minutes later and she comes back, well, yes! you're right! The supervisor had to check with dining and sure enough it was all news to them. Well, I coulda told ya my Dis friends are ALWAYS right and they always have the news before you guys. Well, I didn't say that.
Anyway, after all that, she tells me that I can't request any rotation. So what do I do now? I booked it thru DVC, but sometimes the DCL will talk to me about my reservation and sometimes they won't. All depends on who I get. So is there a special number I can call so I can get Parrot Cay on the Pirate night? thanks guys! :)

I don't think you can do custom rotations. You can request a rotation but the resturants stay in the same order. You would never be able to do Parrot Cay back to back like you have it. At least not that I have ever heard of.

Nope, thats what the "news" in the last 2 weeks. On the four day Wonder, they now have the first restaurant as the one you go to on your second night as well.
But I thought you could add your request to your reservation somehow, just like anything else you request. Anybody on this?

As far as I know you can't put in a request for your rotation. You may be able to if you book the Romance at Sea package thingie but I'm not sure on that.

I would have to agree with Karel. Unless you book one of the suites, as far as I know, you can't choose in advance. Once you are on the ship you can.

Remember, if you don't get the rotation you want, you can always try and change it when you get onboard. We did without any problems. :)

You can make request for dining rotation unless in a suite. Once onboard you can try to change it if another is available.

You can request a rotation but they won't guarantee it in advance. When you get your key card at check-in, your rotation will be marked on it. If it isn't what you want, you can change it as soon as you board the ship. I'd be very surprised if they don't change it. The tough one is trying to change from 2nd seating to 1st seating. Immediately after boarding, go directly to Rockin Bar D (don't be tempted to look around too long, there's plenty of time for that after you make your rotation change!) and you'll see sort of like 3 stations ... one for Palo's dinner, one for Palo's brunch, and one with Maitre D's for general dining room requests. Go to the Maitre D's, make your request, and they'll issue you a ticket with the change on it.

Above poster is correct....you have always been able to "REQUEST", I emphasize REQUEST...it is never guaranteed and it is always at the whim of the CM you have on the phone at the time. Sometimes the CM on the phone will say they will note it on the ressie and sometimes they say they have no way of noting it on the ressie...but remember it is only a request and if you do not get what you requested.....don't be upset with DCL. They did nothing wrong. Just go to the dining request changes area as mentioned and talk to one of the CM's there...

But really, it does not make that big a difference which rotation you have so if you don't wind up getting the one of you prefer, don't be upset and let it ruin your cruise...you will still have a blast.

We have cruises DCL 13 times and had all the different rotations and looking back I cannot say that one was really any better than another.

Hi-
We are on the 4 night Wonder on 4/24. I have added the REAS package but have not been able to reach Debbie @DCL to make my PALO ressies. I am going to ask for PALO on the last night. I would like to request the PATP rotation because I won't mind skipping Parrot Cay for the last night, but what is the deal with the Pirate Night (not really important to us, kids are a bit older) Does this mean we go to Parrot Cay the first and second nights? I'm so confused!!

You can not request your dining rotation..just go with the flow. This is really not anything to get wrapped around the ankles about.

The 4-Day Wonder has new rotations due to Pirate Night in Nassau. pirate:
Here are the new rotations:

PPTA
TTAP
AAPT

The second night is Pirate Night and it has a new menu (we liked it a lot) :sunny: . I think Barb has a copy of the menu on her website. The deck party for Pirate Night starts at 9:45 and the main part of it lasts about an hour and ends with fireworks.

I am with ya! Relax - worry about something actually substantial. I truly think that people worry about this WAAAAYYYY too much.

Help! I realize the abbreviations above must mean a different restaurant each night, but what do the letters stand for? I'll be on the Feb 6th cruise and would love to know if advance. Also, can I book Palo before we leave for the cruise or only on board? I thought only on-board, but someone above mentions booking by calling?
Thanks for everything to everyone on this board. I can't believe how much better prepared I feel now!
Oh, and where is the URL to barb's site? I've seen it mentionned on quite a few threads... still trying to find the URL though!

P - Parrot Cay
T - Triton's
A - Animator's Palate

You can only pre-book Palo if you are in a suite or have bought the REAS (Romantic Escape At Sea) package. Don't worry, when you first get on board head straight to the Palo reservation line (they'll tell you where it is when you check-in at port). You shouldn't have any problem getting reservations if you get there on time.

I'll send you a PM (personal message) with Barb's website.

Enjoy your cruise! :sunny:

I am confused about the fireworks you are speaking of. There were no fireworks on the Jan 16-20 Wonder.

We ate dinner with a family who was there for the 13DS Make-A-Wish cruise. The son has lymphoma and is very interested in fireworks. He specifically asked if maybe for part of his "Make-A-Wish" cruise he could light the fireworks or somehow be a part of any that Disney had and he was told that Disney can't due fireworks. This was coming from Jacqui the "perky cruise director". She said that Disney is currently TRYING to get all of the available permissions and disclaimers from lawyers and such so that they could do fireworks.

They did shot cotton ball fluffs (they were huge cotton balls) from little guns during Pirate night.

I'm not arguing that there wasn't fireworks elsewhere but not on my particular cruise and it struck a chord with me due to our tablemates situation with the Make-a-wish and specifically asking that question.

Maybe someone out there can advise.

I was on the 1/16 Wonder as well. I spoke with Capt. John and he said they were getting the fireworks equipment in February for the Wonder. The Magic already has it. pirate:

Even so, I doubt that they would let any guest participate in lighting fireworks. That would be extremely dangerous. It's a big deal that they can even have fireworks on the ship. After all, fire is the biggest threat to a cruise ship.

I hope that the child with "Make a Wish" enjoyed his cruise regardless of the fireworks. :grouphug:

ljm- Thanks!

Thanks for the clarification. Jacqui didn't tell us that the Magic already had the capability for the fireworks.

The "Make-A-Wish" boy (age 13) had a crush on my 13DD. Also my DS10 had a crush on "wish" boy's 10 year old sister. Our families all got along great!

It was SO cute to see little crushes happening. And everyone wanting to "hang-out" together.
