They would have to pay me $ to eat at...

Akershus at dinner. Food was gross, salad bar was dirty and the service was very slow.

Even if they paid me, I would never again eat at Hollywood & Vine, Whispering Canyon Cafe or Boatwright's.

Tony's Town Square
Hoop Dee Doo Revue
Whispering Canyon Cafe

As for the folks worried about the Sci Fi, don't be! Just stick with the simple stuff (burgers, milk shakes) and its just fine.

I wouldn't eat at Hollywood & Vine again even if they gave me front of the line passes! I get sick just thinking about it.

Really there's no where I would not go. Some are not as good as others but to me much of it is what you order when go and what are your expectations?

The reason I say that is because while several folks here say Tony's is the worst they have had, actually I have had one of my best meals ever at Tony's. It was a special and was a grilled veal chop, bone in, with mashed sweet potatos and a ceasar salad. Yes their pasta is dicey at times, but I never order it.

The character meals are always questionable in my mind because they don't always cater to fine diners.

Also many times the tone is set in such a way that before you even look at the menu you are guareenteed to have a bad meal. The wait was to long, your ADR was screwed up, etc. and that experience sours the whole meal. Add to that a bad waiter, bad service, or a noisey kid at the next table and the whole thing goes south.

Crystal Palace. I'm usually pretty forgiving and for the most part haven't needed to be with Disney restaurants, but our last meal there was so bad all the way around - long wait to be seated, less than helpful manager who wouldn't/couldn't waive the no-show fee when we wanted to leave, terrible character interaction with no handlers to stop kids from other tables butting in out of turn, a mostly absent server, and mediocre food at best. In the end it was 2.5 miserable hours with unimpressive food and still only seeing 3 of the 4 characters. I don't care if they are paying, my vacation time is worth too much to waste on that sort of experience.

This surprises me. I have no doubt you had this experience and it was bad. I'm sorry - I agree about time being worth too much. However, we found Crystal Palace to be some of the best food and we had great service. Guess it just goes to show what a difference a server or chef can make....

Mine would have to be Tony's. The place was gorgeous but the service was SLOW and there was almost no one in there.. and the food was bleh. Not a fan.

Another vote for Hollywood and Vine. The food was just so-so and those metal chairs made the whole experience uncomfortable.

Yes!!!! The metal chairs! I could never pinpoint what it was about that place that sent it from the "not good" to the "never again" list, it was the chairs! So loud, heavy, awkward....

So I guess my price for Hollywood and vine is a nice lightweight chair with those floor pads on the legs :rotfl:

Mine would have to be 1900 Park Fare for dinner (breakfast is good).
All I could stomach was the salad and desserts. Maybe an off day, but was gross to all in our party and we by no means are picky eaters.
I agree about 1900 PF dinner. NOT GOOD AT ALL!!! It wasnt gross, but it certainly wasnt good either. Even the desserts were a let-down. Very disappointing.

Yikes  I have an ADR here for our upcoming trip. Care to share why?

As for the folks worried about the Sci Fi, don't be! Just stick with the simple stuff (burgers, milk shakes) and its just fine.
We have always loved our meals at Sci Fi!!!! Their burgers are yummy!!! And i love their shakes. its true, stick with the burgers and shakes and you should be fine. We cant wait to go back!

After reading a few threads i realised that every single restaurant in disney has been mentioned as either "really gross" or "will not return". Every single restaurant! I'd only pay attention to the restaurant that constantly get negative reviews such as Tony's & Hollywood/Vine. Even then, if your curious about the place, go to the restaurant and form your own opinion.

I would eat anywhere if it was free!!!

There isn't one place where they would have to pay me. I haven't had that bad of food yet.

Whispering Canyon Cafe
Hollywood and Vine

I'd rather eat out of a dumpster. Even on a hot and muggy day!

Akershus, but not for the food, for the princesses. It used to be my favorite place before it turned into a kids' meal.

You'd have to pay me at least $20 to go in there now.

For us it would be anywhere in World Showcase (beside Italy or a burger at Le Cellier) - as nothing on any of the menus appeals to us fussy eaters at ALL!
