They Tried To Make Me Go To Rehab, But I Said No No No! Updt 11/7: Solo no more Pg.27

I LOVE trunk or treating! I was just saying today that I'd never even heard of it till I moved to Tennessee- but it's so much fun each and every year. Lots of clever costumes and a very safe place for the kids.

I can't wait to hear about laser tag!

Then yesterday, Sam's Kinder class at Saint___Catholic School in Houston had a Halloween bash for the Kindergartners and their parents and teachers. When Jake was in Kindergaten, the school allowed the kids to dress in any kind of decent Halloween costume. Two years later, the school changed policy, and the kids can now only dress up as saints! What the -- "Saints"?!!

Boy, did dressing up take forever, esp. with Jake's cosume! Too many accesorries! lol! Here's my Sis and the kids in the front yard after the kids were all dressed up:

Saints? Seriously? I was kind of doing a mental head slap when I read that

Ok, you have one of the most beautiful families ever! Your boys are so sweet and that little River, man oh man I'd be pinching those cheeks like crazy!

P.S. I love your Little Mermaid shirts. She is my favorite too and I actually have the same shirts as you!

I loved this update:thumbsup2 Congrats for getting student of the week Jake! and Sam you looked Soo cute in both of your costumes! Oh and your sisters baby is the CUTEST thing ever! I just loved her smile! Cant wait to read more updates:)

Love the "real life" update :goodvibes

I can't believe the kids can only dress up as saints ~ I would dress up as saint nick :lmao:

Glad you had such a great halloween and camping trip!

Jen,

Your kids are just the cutest things I've ever seen! And that baby girl, too much! I do love the Halloween update. I wish there was a trunk or treat event around here! I am on the edge of my seat waiting to hear about when the fam joins you in the World!

Kids grow up so fast...I get the kids across the street of the bus everyday and the youngest won't give me a hug until the bus pulls away since his friends may see :sad2:

I can't believe it has been a year...time sure does fly

That is so nice of you to help the neighbors with the kids! :goodvibes

Happy Halloween! Your kids are adorable GREAT costumes!! And what a cute tigger :) Thanks for sharing with us, HUGS!

Hi Kat! Thanks for the compliments. I tired to get Sam to wear a Peter Pan Costume, but he was really insistent on being a Star Wars character. :)

Hi Lara! The laser tag party was waaay awesome! Over twenty kiddos showed up! Luckily I ordered extra boxes of pizza, otherwise I'd have some very upset and hungry 8 year-old boys! The pizza disappered in 10 minutes, I kid you not. Jake ate 3 big slices! I'll have some pictures up as soon as I upload them on my photobucket account. :)

The boys look so cute & that baby is just adorable!

Hi loribell! Thanks for the kind compliments, I'll be sure to tell my sister. :)

Awww, the kidlets are all super cute in their costumes. :goodvibes

Thanks for the nice compliment, Lessa! Halloween is a big thing here in our household, as you can probably tell. :)

Thanks for the very sweet comments! :) Jake was so proud to be a school "celebrity" ;) It took us forever to make his poster! We got so many compliments from teachers and students alike on how cool the poster was!

I'm glad you enjoyed the update! :goodvibes St. Nick is an awesome idea for a saint costume, I'll keep that in mind. :thumbsup2 In 8th grade they have to dress up as saints and make a term paper about the saint's life!

Hi Lara! :) I cannot, for the life of me, find the stupid memory card thingie that attatches to the laptop. I have to yet upload the bday photos. I am sneaking in an update since DH switched schedules with me, and brought the boys to school this AM ;)

I don't have half the excuse- I'm just too lazy to remember to upload pictures! :rotfl:

I'm in the midst of a MAJOR vacation restructuring because of the discount released yesterday...

So when I last left you, I had just finished viewing the gorgeous Spectromagic parade. I walked to the package pick-up located located at Station Break underneath the Main Street Train Station. There was, expectedly, a long line of people waiting. I didn't mind waiting because I didn't want to leave the Magic Kingdom! I wanted to stay as long as I could by whatever means possible. ;)

Then I walked to the Main Street Emporium and browsed a bit, but didn't buy anything again.

Finally, it was time to leave as the MK. I took one final look at the castle changing colors, the "kiss goodnight" as we all know it. I tried not to be sad, I felt like I was leaving an old friend. I made a promise to myself that I would find a way to return to this Magical place.

Then I ever so slowly walked beneath the train station, headed towards the OKW bus stop. It was almost 1 am.

When I got to my OKW studio, my room key card would not work! I jiggled the door handle and made several unsuccessful attempts pushing my KTTW card in and out of the slot. I was so frustrated.

At this point I was just about to call the front desk from my cell phone, when I noticed the suddenly unfamiliar room number -- I was at the wrong door!! OMG, my studio was the next one over! I shouted a "I'm sorry, wrong room" and quickly made my way inside studio #3120.

I prayed I didn't scare the people in the other room. :rolleyes1

As I leaned against the door, recovering from my unintentional attempt to illegally enter some other guests' room, I was greatly surprised by this:

IMG_5871.jpg

Wow! The OKW staff sent over a Lilo and Stitch card and balloons to greet Sam a Happy 5th Birthday!!! I was soooo excited! I arranged the swords and Stitch laser gun around the the card/balloons.

Here's a closer look:

IMG_5872.jpg

I loved that the staff took time out to do this for Sam. I love how Disney goes out of its way to make things a little more magical for everyone.

I get a phone call from DH saying they are already on DME, and headed to SSR first before OKW. I hear the DME video playing in the background, as well as the excited chatter of the boys! DH says he decided not to have DME deal with their bags, and instead he and the boys picked up the luggage from the carousel and brought it on the bus with them.

I watch a little Stacy on the TV as I await their arrival.

Then I hear loud running footsteps outside the door, and I open it to find Jake and Sam broadly smiling at me. They ran inside the room, and found the surprise waiting on their bed:

DH walks up with the bellman, carrying two suitcases. The boys walk around the room, exploring the huge interior of the OKW studio. I ask them to change into pj's and get to bed as it was nearing 1:45 A.M. We had an early morning scheduled tomorrow, and I didn't want to deal with tired grumpy kiddos. They were so happy and excited to finally be here, and it was difficult to get them settled in bed, but about 30 minutes later we all fell asleep.

A few hours later, I wake up and start packing up. This day we are moving to another resort/hotel as this was the Rehab conference's first day. Originally, I had a room at the Omni Orlando, but switched over at the last minute to:

POPC1.jpg

The POP!!! :dance3:

I wake the boys 45 mins. later, and feed them granola bars, juice, and muffins for breakfast. DH was still very tired and wanted to sleep-in, so we decided that DH would stay behind and be in charge of the final packing-up and bag transfer to the POP. Meanwhile, the boys and I would go to the Grand Floridian so the boys could get on the Pirate Adventure Cruise! :yay:

I get the boys dressed. Here they are at the patio of our studio:

IMG_5874.jpg

Oops, the camera fogs up again. I wipe the lens, and take another photo:

IMG_5875.jpg

Jake, Sam and I then walk to the OKW bus stop and get on a bus to the MK.

Here are the boys in front of the train station:

IMG_5878.jpg

Our plan is to hop on the monorail to the Grand Floridian.

The GF in the background:

The boys are thrilled about riding the monorail again, and are smiling from ear to ear while pointing out to the sights all around us. Most of all, everyone was looking forward to the Pirate Cruise! However, I was getting somewhat worried about the time --the boys were supposed to be at the GF boat dock at 9:15, and at that point, we barely had 8 minutes to spare!

All of a sudden, the driver of our monorail announces he was ordered to park the vehicle for a few minutes at the CR because of a back-up of monorails ahead of us.

Will the boys make it to the ship on time???
Stay tuned for the answer!
