Be glad you get off thurs lol My dh employment is always on even holidays...(LEO) sometimes if they are in their home area they can stop to eat (most r not) so it is 12 hours shifts for them on turkey day!

Are you not getting paid? if you worked for me I would expect you to be performing the job you are paid to do. If you have such an issue about being at work, why did you not just request a vacation day?

Ordinarily I'd agree with you. But half the nation takes today as a vacation day, leaving the rest of us that do have to work today with little to do. I work when the phone rings. If the phone doesn't ring, I have nothing to do. All my little "off the phone" tasks are long since taken care of. My boss is aware, and is Christmas shoping online herself at the moment. I'd have taken a day off, but my co-worker beat me to it, and only one of us can be off at a time.

Same here. All this complaining about not having anything to do and I was busting butt so much today I could barely reheat last night's dinner for dinner tonight.

They guy that was pulled over from another area to do my job so I could do other stuff is off traveling. So, today I had to do his job, which is doing my job, so I guess I just did my job, LOL.

Dang management. Instead of running 2 shifts with the production crew, they want us to run a production order on the scaled down R&D equipment so it takes 3 weeks instead of 2 shifts.

And I stayed an hour and 4 minutes past closing time. My last appointment of the day was an excellent discussion on many important topics, as well as on some very frivolous topics. The kid may be a juvenile delinquent, but he was fun to talk with.

Sort of slow most of the day, but picked up after 3 PM. Got a call out for a claim at 3:15 PM 24 miles away and just got in. They were glad we put in a whole day.
