They Don't Eat Hash Browns in Princessland - May 14 COMPLETE! 2/8 pg. 73

I ended up getting a sunburn when I was outside all day long during my school's Field Day, but I have to say I felt a little better when I read about how Popadon had a burn and survived the tightness and all that. Phew. I think I can make it through too!

Yum, those food items look really good! I wish there was a way that I could go to Food and Wine, but it's at the beginning of the school year when there are no breaks!

You got a one BR! Woo Hoo! :cool1: And now you are all spoiled for ever! That is why I don't think I can ever get one. I've stayed studio and 2 BR (with a large crowd), but never treated myself to a 1BR! Totally luxury and what a lovely view.

I love that you started off your trip with so many yummy food items. I had that tilapia and absolutely loved it. But I'm sure I bought a drink at the same time so I wouldn't have to walk around with my mouth open. :rotfl:

Loved this update - DIS-meets are always good, as is the room being ready early, but best of all: I learned some valuable things! Our tentative next trip is a land/sea next May and, based on historical dates, we think that the weekend prior (when we'd arrive) will be the first of Star Wars Weekends, but now I'm realizing that it may also still be Flower & Garden, which we have never made it to, AND F&G is apparently a lot like Food & Wine now! :cool1: This just made my day!!! :thumbsup2

DISmeets are so much fun! I was so happy that our room was ready. I'm the kind of person that just likes to get in there and get everything unpacked and ready to go.

Yes! You are absolutely right. The last weekend of Flower and Garden is also typically the first weekend of Star Wars Weekends.

F&G is more like F&W now. Not near as many booths, but a nice variety. They're more focused on the fresh side, so the variety of food is really nice.

Well when your Papadon is so awesome, how can he not star in the TR?

The Boardwalk looks beautiful! And it is fancy that you can just pull out the couch like that. I'm impressed ;)

Oh hey, I read about your meet in Caitlin's TR and now I'm reading about it here. I now have both sides of the story.

I feel you on the spicy factor. I don't do spicy either.

Also, I love your shirt.

Oh the La Vie en Rose slush. So yummy.

I know. He totally always steals my thunder from my TR's. :lmao:

IT was totally a fancy couch! It was so easy to get it ready for the day, because I don't like just leaving the bed out for the day.

I really liked the La Vie en Rose slush. And especially when it's that hot outside, a slush is nice.

Oh thank goodness I wasn't far behind on yours...actually seems I hit it just right. With the news we got this week and trying to get a tiny update on my TR, I've fallen behind again.

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: for your room being ready. I'm really beginning to regret that we did the one bedroom at AKL and just a studio at BWV in September after seeing several pictures of the BWV one bedroom. :(

What a great way to start your time at Epcot...with a DIS meet. And I was :rotfl::rotfl: on the floor with your pop wondering when and how often you were having more. He is just too adorable for words.

Some of that food looks interesting, but I really want to try that slush (although I prefer the Grand Mariner one over the Grey Goose).

Yay for not being far behind! My goal is to get caught up today also. This work week was not the best for me.

I was so excited that our room was ready! We really liked the one bedroom. We normally don't do them, because we're more for conserving points, but because we originally had two studios and cancelled one of them because my friends didn't come along, we just rolled it into a one bedroom instead.

He was totally wondering about that the whole time! Granted, our first day was full of them and they slowed down, but he was so excited.

The slush is really yummy. I like the GGS one (mostly for flavor, obviously not for alcohol content), but that one was really good.

Oh Popadon. Of course he was charming the check in CM! And he should totally be a bra model. :thumbsup2

How nice that the room was ready! We stayed at the BWI on our honeymoon, and we'll definitely be back someday. It's beautiful there.

Well you go the trip started off right! I didn't sample nearly as many F&G booths as I'd wanted to. Next time!

If I had to guess who your next meet was, I'd have to say Katt, but since you referenced Bo I suppose it could be Brenda....

I know! He seriously just charms everyone. :rotfl2: I'll tell him that he should be a bra model. He'll love that.

I love the Boardwalk! That entire area is my favorite. I just love everything about it.

I really really wanted to try a lot of booths. Mainly because I'm obsessed with the F&W festival, and this resembled it, so I was sold.

Hmmmm....we'll see. ;)

what great updates!! I MUST stay at the BW at some point, that place is gorgeous and so awesome and great to just walk on over to Epcot…think Imma do a staycation for points during F &W just to be awesome lol!!

Yay for the room being ready, and hilarious shenanigans while un packing lol! :rotfl:

Awesome that you got to meet up with Caitlin & co multiple times!! I'm sad we didn't get to spend that much time with her but it was still fun lol!

YUM FOOD
EFFF

I'm now super hungry & shouldn't be eating anyting else for the rest of the day  lol oh disney food! one day soon we will be reuininted!

You do have to stay there at some point! I love that resort. That area is impossible for us to get into during F&W! I think every single DVC member totally books the rooms there 11 months in advance.

Yeah, we tend to get a little silly at many points during the day.

We did meet up a bunch of times! It was awesome. It really felt like we had known each other forever.

You'll be reunited with Disney food for an extended period of time! It's a good thing I'm not working there, because I would gain back every pound that I lost. :lmao:

I don't know if you told this yet. When are you going to the F & W? We are in October sometime but it keeps changing and I don't feel like fixing my countdown again :rotfl2:

We are going from November 8th to the 15th. We're there for the last three days of F&W. I love F&W, but it's the most difficult time for me to go because we're in budget, and I'm basically not allowed to take time off in October. So I have to fit it in the best way that I can.

Our first stop was the Jardin de Fiestas booth.

We got the Taco al Pastor (corn tortilla filled with achiote marinated pork garnished with grilled diced pineapple, onions, and cilantro).

That looks fabulous! I LOVE spicy foods, especially if cilantro is involved since l love that too..both go great with margaritas. Is this served at any of the restuarants or is only during one of the festivals? I NEED to try one...

We stayed at BWV in January and loved it...it was fantastic being able to walk to two parks!

I do love having purple hair... unfortunately I don't think my supervisor would be too impressed if I had it that way now. Your Pop is just the best! I laughed out loud when I saw the bra picture :rotfl: I really like the idea of Dismeets but so far the stars have not aligned in my trips. By the way I'm the Nina that friended you on Facebook the other week :wave2: I realised that you probably had no clue who I was so I thought I'd clarify :thumbsup2

Yeah, my office wouldn't love it if I had purple hair either.

It felt like it took forever for everything to work out for me with DISmeets. I'm glad that it did though, because they all were a highlight of my trip.

Haha, I knew it was you! I always double check my stuff, and I remembered. :thumbsup2

Hooray for your room being ready! And what a gorgeous room it is too.
Walking to Epcot sounds so amazing, I can't wait to try that out.
So awesome that you already got your first Dismeet in already! Love the pic of you and Caitlin.
Yum, omg your food and wine selections look so good! (I am also the type to find milk spicy and I totally knew what was coming when you said ghost pepper tilapia! :rotfl: )

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Love that entire resort. The draw of walking to both Epcot and DHS is the biggest thing. Every time we select resorts for a trip, I'm always wanting to stay at either the Boardwalk or the Beach Club.

Bahahaha, yeah, I saw ghost pepper and I'm no fool. But when my Mom ate the tilapia (she's the only one I trust. I don't trust my Pop's palate....) and said it was fine, I tried it. She obviously did not get a helping of slaw with it. :rotfl2:

Brooklynn, Bella, and I will have the privilege of staying at Boardwalk for three days in July. We're bunking in with Marc and Anita until Jill, John, and Sophie arrive on Saturday, and then we'll head over to our usual home, Pop, for the next eight days. I have stayed at Beach Club, and the ease of walking from either of those resorts to Epcot and Hollywood Studios is so nice. Not waiting for a bus when leaving the park is wonderful. :thumbsup2

We have four Disney friends/DIS meets scheduled for our trip. Caitlin is planning to make one of those on one of her off days. :goodvibes

You're going to love it! It's an amazing resort. There are some minor drawbacks to the Boardwalk, the one being if you're a big refillable mug user. It's not the easiest to do, but we don't use them, so for us it's not a major deal. The not waiting for a bus feature for two of the parks is the biggest thing for me. Makes me want to stay there all the time.

Yay! Caitlin is so amazing, you guys will love her.

The Boardwalk is one of my favorite resorts and your room looks great. IMO the Epcot resort area is the best. I find that area so much prettier than the monorail resort area.

Anyway, we were so excited to meet up with you and it felt like we'd known your family forever. Very cute pic of you and Caitlin :goodvibes

Mine too! And I completely agree with you regarding it being better than the monorail resort area. I have a soft spot for the Poly, but given the choice, I love the entire Epcot resort area.

I know, it totally felt like we knew each other forever! I'm so glad that we had the opportunity to spend time together. It was a major highlight of our trip. :goodvibes We'll see you in November, I'm pretty sure our entire trip overlaps again almost. :thumbsup2

What makes the pink slushie pink? Is it just some pink food coloring, or is there some kind of fruit juice or pink liqueur in it?

The slush is: Grey Goose Orange Vodka, St. Germain Liquor, with white and red cranberry juice, so I'm guessing the cranberry juice gives it the nice pink color.

Yay for DISmeets! Glad you two had such a fun, quick meet-up. It's great when people mesh well off the bat.

That food looks so yummy. It doesn't help that its 9am right now and I'm STARVING for lunch type food....

It really is nice when people mesh well right away. When you first get into DISmeets, I think it's something you are nervous about, but this entire trip, there was no reason for us to be nervous about that at all.

I know! Every time I look through my food pictures, I'm like "dang, I'm hungry!"

Hahaha, I want to print out that photo of Popadon in his brassiere to take out when I'm having a bad moment at work!!! :rotfl2:

We went to the F&G Festival this year, and had an amazing time tasting all the goodies. I had the duck in France as well, and LOVED it! I thought it might be too greasy, but the potatoes definitely helped with that!

And yay for DISmeets! I hope to have one of my own one day! :goodvibes

Hahaha! It's a great way to cheer yourself up when things get cruddy. :rotfl2:

It was such a nice feature of F&G! I think it's a good way to draw more people to the event too. I think it's beautiful, but the festival itself isn't always enough to draw me in. Now, add food..........:rotfl2:

Someday you will have one!

Getting caught up on some TR's that I started then forgot I started. I'm bad like that.

Nice that you have a choice of airports. I have 1 - Philly International. OK there are a few smaller ones near me but I would have to drive further and pay for parking. Using Philly I get free rides from family members. And I can sleep later as I always take the 6 or 7 AM planes.

Your dad is a hoot. My dad never went on vacations and my parents do not get Disney. One of the worst trips I ever took was with my mother. Very nice that you get to share your trips with your parents.

I stayed at POFQ one of my trips with my friend and loved it. Riverside looks like a nice spot too but I love the Boardwalk and Beach Club areas. One day I hope to stay there.

Looking forward to more.

No worries at all! I fall behind too.

It's really nice to have three airports to choose from. We normally fly out of Milwaukee, and then use O'Hare for international. Midway is a good option if we can't find an affordable flight on Southwest out of Milwaukee, so we're fortunate.

My Parents are just big kids at heart, like I am. It makes things so awesome. My entire immediate family totally gets the Disney magic.

Boardwalk and Beach Club are my favorite resorts. We're fortunate to have DVC so staying there is easy enough..if you can get in of course. :rotfl2:

OK, that's interesting about the Boardwalk parking. Since I generally rent a car, I'll keep that in mind if I'm ever able to actually stay there, lol.

Oh yeah, when I picture Popadon talking up the ladies, Flynn is EXACTLY who I picture. EXACTLY!

Uh huh. "Accidentally" left his book behind? That's the oldest trick in that book. The George Costanza leave behind. Co-Stanza.

Aw yeah DISmeet!!! I also do hug people at random though.

And Star Wars twinsies.

Hahaha, I always approve of a Cam gif.

Ooooh, I'm liking the sound of La Vie en Rose slush. Like A Lot. Like A WHOLE LOT!!!

The parking lot is just a trek from the building. And if the resort is full, it's even more of a trek. We just valet to make it easier.

That is exactly who you picture, I know! And that's pretty much exactly what he looks like when he does it!

Right? Oh sorry, I left my book, so now I have to go back and charm this cute CM again.

Yup, we were Star Wars twinsies that day. And totally legit twinsies by accident the next day. :rotfl2:

Oh it is so good. So so good. I love the flavor of the GGS, but let's be honest, it's got virtually no liquor in it. This though. This was exactly what I wanted.

I loved this drink!! After the first taste I gave alot of thought to crawling over the counter and sticking my head under the machine. Rumor has it that it is being held over at least until Food and Wine Fest!!!

That is how I felt exactly! They should make it permanent!

It was so great to meet you guys too. It did feel like we knew each other forever. We had a fantastic time with you , Dale and Caitlin. Hope to be able to hook up again soon at WDW.:thumbsup2

We will make sure to! I think we all overlap in November. :thumbsup2

Yep I am still speaking to Danielle :rotfl::rotfl: I have no shame either:rotfl2:

Thankfully you are still speaking to me. Thanks for that. :lmao:

Looking at the food pics makes me want to go back..... I can't wait for November for the Food and Wine.. Loved all the food :thumbsup2

I can't wait either! I'm totally freaking out about F&W.

When rooms are ready ahead of time, you feel like you're getting ahead on vacation right from the get go. It's like, "clearly I was meant to be in Disney, checking in on this day":rotfl2:

How did I miss that slushie???:sad2: It looks delicious!

Haha, I couldn't help but laugh at your Cam gif. Sorry the food was so spicy!

Yes! I loved the fact that we could just get it all out of the way, because I love to be able to unpack and everything. I just don't like things being out of order. :lmao: I can't live out of a suitcase.

I don't know how you missed that slushie! So yummy.

Bahaha, that's okay, I dealt with it.

Happy, happy birthday friend.party:party::bday:

Thanks Kathy! I'm 29 still!

I think you can make it through. I've gotten sunburned so much throughout my pasty white life that I just take it for granted that everyone knows what it feels like. Clearly that's not the case. :lmao:

They were really good! I could imagine for you going during F&W would be difficult. It's harder for me too, because of budget season, which is why we're only able to catch the final weekend.

:rotfl:

YES! We were totally spoiled by it, and my Pop was like "I don't want to stay in Studios anymore!" Well buddy, that takes points man! :lmao: It is a luxury. I'm sure we'll do it again at some point, but our points are going to be used to the hilt this upcoming year and a half with our trip to DLR next year with the littles.

It was awesome starting the trip that way! Nice food options, relaxing time wandering around. It was great.

Good thing you didn't have to walk around with your mouth open. Let me tell you, it never looks good. :lmao:

That looks fabulous! I LOVE spicy foods, especially if cilantro is involved since l love that too..both go great with margaritas. Is this served at any of the restuarants or is only during one of the festivals? I NEED to try one...

We stayed at BWV in January and loved it...it was fantastic being able to walk to two parks!

I love cilantro too! I believe this was only served during the F&G festival. The booths for F&W are different and they rotate the items. It was really yummy with the pineapple.

It is awesome being able to walk. One of the biggest draws for me.

Hi :) I've read your reports in the past and they are so well written and very funny :) I very rarely comment but I just got back from Disney and one day while I was in downtown disney, I'm certain I saw you! I looked at my boyfriend and told him I read your reports and he had no idea what I was talking about! Haha I just thought I would share :)

I totally need to try your cupcake sandwich approach. Genius, GENIUS!

I have also been wanting to try that Salmon; now that I've seen it, I definitely need to. It looks like a great meal, especially for QS!

Rock your kermit hat. Rock it.

"That milk is so spicy." Yup, I could have said those words. I'll make something that is so hot I feel like I am going to die and to DH it'll be "nicely seasoned." :sad2:

What were you thinking trying something with ghost pepper in the description? I would have loved to have seen you walking around with your mouth open though. I'm nice that way. ;)

The rest of your treats look amazing though!

Well that stinks. I can't go in November/December because I work in retail. Busiest time of the year. But I will be moving there to hopefully work at Disney in June of 2015. We will meet one day :)

Thank you so much!

That's totally awesome if you did see me! If that would ever happen again (unlikely I know but still), feel free to just come on over and chat me up. I don't mind at all. I love meeting people on the DIS! :goodvibes

Cupcake sandwiches are totally the way to go. I'm serious. I don't always do it, but if they're massive cupcakes, I do. Makes the ratio just right. :rotfl2:

I totally do not believe my father whatsoever when he says something is not spicy. My Mom yes. My Pop, no way. I've learned my lesson the hard way. :lmao:

Well that stinks. I can't go in November/December because I work in retail. Busiest time of the year. But I will be moving there to hopefully work at Disney in June of 2015. We will meet one day :)

Awwww, boo! There are times that are harder for me to go too. Hopefully someday soon you'll be working there!

I don't blame your Dad one bit about not wanting to stay in a studio again. Once you're experienced something bigger, there's no way you wanna downsize again!

That's awesome you were able to meet up with Caitlin! Cute picture :)

Omg all that food looks absolutely DELICIOUS! And that pink drink... YUM!

Your room looks awesome!

GREAT picture of your dad modeling some fine lingerie :rotfl:

Walking right through the International Gateway really must be so awesome.

Yay a DISmeet! :goodvibes

All the food you tried looks so yummy. The frozen violet lemonade looks amazing, glad to hear it tastes as good as it looks!

I will say Hi if it happens again :) Because we live in Nova Scotia we don't get there as much as I would like. The next trip will be next September for the Food and Wine festival! Our first time there for it!! :)

Both of those drinks looked great- I can't do drinks with calories or sugar in them anymore since having bypass and now that summer is here I am craving a slushed or frozen drink of some kind.

I am really trying to work out a trip to boardwalk too and that villa looked perfect in size. Now just to convince the DH that the money is worth it!! :rotfl:
