They Don't Eat Hash Browns in Princessland - May 14 COMPLETE! 2/8 pg. 73

I don't blame your Dad one bit about not wanting to stay in a studio again. Once you're experienced something bigger, there's no way you wanna downsize again!

That's awesome you were able to meet up with Caitlin! Cute picture :)

Omg all that food looks absolutely DELICIOUS! And that pink drink... YUM!

I agree completely! I like the one bedroom as well, definitely for the space. It was a nice change from what we normally do.

It was so nice to meet up with them right away in our trip! They are such awesome people.

The food was all so yummy. Definitely helped me to feel like I was back at F&W.

Your room looks awesome!

GREAT picture of your dad modeling some fine lingerie :rotfl:

Walking right through the International Gateway really must be so awesome.

Yay a DISmeet! :goodvibes

All the food you tried looks so yummy. The frozen violet lemonade looks amazing, glad to hear it tastes as good as it looks!

It was an awesome room!

Haha, he's totally funny like that. He also has no shame whatsoever, just like my Mom and I.

Walking through the International Gateway from the Epcot resort area is one of my favorite things to do. One of the major draws of that entire area.

I had wanted to try the frozen violet lemonade and I was really hoping it tasted as good as it looked. It really exceeded my expectations.

I will say Hi if it happens again :) Because we live in Nova Scotia we don't get there as much as I would like. The next trip will be next September for the Food and Wine festival! Our first time there for it!! :)

That's so awesome you'll be there for F&W! It is my absolute favorite time to go, hands down. I adore the festival.

Be ready for crowds at the festival, because it is super popular. Just take your time and enjoy the food. I actually concentrate on the food the days we do F&W and don't bother with much else. However, having FP+ now will actually make things a lot easier to manage, because you don't have to worry about lines and getting on rides. I think you'll totally love it.

Both of those drinks looked great- I can't do drinks with calories or sugar in them anymore since having bypass and now that summer is here I am craving a slushed or frozen drink of some kind.

I am really trying to work out a trip to boardwalk too and that villa looked perfect in size. Now just to convince the DH that the money is worth it!! :rotfl:

Oh, that stinks to have cravings for them! I really try hard not to consume them at all, so it was a major treat for me to have them.

That villa is a great size. You could try renting points from a DVC member! There are pages where members offer rentals for the points, and it normally ends up costing considerably less than booking it through Disney. :thumbsup2

Yep I'm sneaky like that :P

Yum duck confit! I hope you still had something to drink there. It's salty. We have this place here that makes the best "poutine" with duck confit. Yum! But you'll drink entire water bottles after hehe (Poutine is yummy. Do you know what that is?)

I do I do. I'm from Saskatchewan. Lol. Pountine is soooo yummy but your right about the salt.

I had the slushy to drink, so it was fine. It wasn't too salty thankfully.

I am aware of what Poutine is, I've just never had it. I'm from a Belgian family, and we take our fries really really seriously. Like...you don't put stuff all over them. :rotfl2:

I do I do. I'm from Saskatchewan. Lol. Pountine is soooo yummy but your right about the salt.

Someday I'm sure I'll get around to trying it. We have a lot of restaurants in Chicago that serve it.

I kind of want to try the one at Le Cellier. But I don't know hehe

Do it! Then if it doesn't live up to your expectations, at least you know you'll never eat it again. LOL.

hehehe

I love fries with mayo.

But let's face it, the fries used in poutine are not normally belgian fries. Although one place does and it's awesome.

First off. I have to share some mildly distressing news.

So I totally lost a battle with a counter corner in my kitchen yesterday. I was heading out of the kitchen, and clipped my pinky toe on my right foot on the edge that sticks out slightly.

And......broke it.

I knew it was broken. I could tell. It didn't feel at all like a normal stubbed toe. So I went to the acute care center to have them solidify what I already knew. I broke it.

There's not anything that can be done other than buddy taping the broken toe to the one next to it, not walking a lot, and keep it elevated for the first few days.

I'm not going to lie. I cried and cried and cried after it happened. Nope, not because I was in an immense amount of pain. I cried because I can't jog until this is completely healed. Which could be up to six weeks.

This came at the most inopportune time for me, because I'm completely immersed in the training program for the Princess Half Marathon. Yes, I still have time, but six weeks is a long time to take off. It's going to feel like I have to start at the beginning again when this is over. Which just breaks my heart.

So this whole weekend I've spent sitting on my rear end, with my foot up, and trying not to go up and down the stairs too much.

And I was supposed to run 3 miles today and 6 miles tomorrow.

I just feel a little sorry for myself. Pity party for one? Seating a pity party for one.....

Anyway! This just means that once this is healed, I need to hit the ground harder than I've done before. I've decided to go back to the doctor for an x-ray after three weeks, because I want to see if I can start running sooner than six weeks. This is "supposed" to be the bone that heals the fastest, so we'll see.

What a doofus. Look out for counter edges. They bite.

Let's move on with an update, shall we?

Day 2 - Friday May 16, 2014 Continued:

Who on earth was my next DISmeet? Well, you'll find out soon enough. Because I had been texting this individual from Epcot to find out if they were still at DHS as planned. Thankfully, they were still there waiting to use their FP at TSM. We were heading out of Epcot to walk to DHS, so I told her we would be there in about 15 to 20 minutes. Don't want to walk too fast you know. It was somewhat warm outside.

We took our time on the walk and in no time we had arrived. We had agreed to meet by Bo. Mainly because we all know where he is and also because it was at the front of the park. They were leaving and we were coming in for the day, so it worked out for the best.

Who were we meeting?

Mary Ellen (MEK) and Cynthia (eandesmom)!

I consider Mary Ellen to be one of the DIS friends I've known the longest. We've been reading each other's TR's for quite some time, so it totally felt like we knew each other.

But first things first. We had to get in to the park.

Today was the first official Star Wars Weekends day.

As I walked in, I headed past Bo. And totally waltzed past Cynthia like an idiot. I was so distracted by everything, that I just walked in like a dee dee dee!

Well I saw Mary Ellen coming my way before I even caught glimpse of Cynthia. Sorry Cynthia!

Mary Ellen gave me the biggest hug ever! It was so nice! It felt again like we'd known each other forever.

We headed over to chat with Cynthia and we talked about all kinds of things. DVC (which everyone owns. Well, I don't, but you know...), their prior DISmeets of the trip, how their day had been. We also chatted about our absolutely horrific travel day the day before, which they had seen on Facebook.

Pop of course charmed the pants off of everyone. He's a charming guy. He and Cynthia totally hit it off, and that would prove later when we were at Jellyrolls when they were just chatting up a storm.

Cause remember.

Mary Ellen and I exchanged gifts. I totally didn't take a picture of what I got her and Cynthia! Doofus. I got them Disney pocket mirrors from Hot Topic.

Mary Ellen gave me an awesome bag of swag, let me tell you. Sweetest person ever! Let me just gush on about what was in my bag. She gave me all kinds of Disney goodies. Mickey chalk, Princess tissue, Ghirardelli chocolate, a Cinderella key chain. But she also got me one of the nicest gifts ever. Susan (jecskc) as a shop on Facebook called the Busy Thimble. I've gotten things from her before and I especially love the Haunted Mansion wallpaper pattern fabric that she has. Well, wouldn't you know it. Mary Ellen totally had Susan make me a Haunted Mansion wallpaper coin purse! You can see it on the right hand side of the picture.

So so sweet and so awesome! Thank you so much again Mary Ellen. That was the sweetest thing ever! It totally resides in my purse currently with coins in it! Yay me!

Of course after we were done talking we agreed that we needed to get a PP to commemorate the occasion. And also because we needed to get some kind of picture with my Pop making a ridiculous face.

Well that wasn't very ridiculous. Let's see if we can do better.

Yup, this seems about right.

Let's get a close up on that.

Oh yes. It just gets better.

Oh my Pop.

I think he definitely lived up to his reputation of being a silly faced dude.

It was so nice to have another great DISmeet. We parted ways at that point, since Mary Ellen and Cynthia needed to take a break. They'd been going since that morning so I think some pool time was in order. But no worries. We would be seeing each other later on!

We had our first FP+ time coming up, so we started to head over to Star Tours. However, we stopped to get some ice water from one of the quick service locations, because dude....it was hot. This was a theme on the trip too just so you guys are aware.

While we were getting our water, I also got a text from Alicia (amazingact21) that they were heading into DHS! This was a surprise, because we had been unsure if we would be able to meet up at all. We had nothing set in stone. I told her that we were heading over to Star Tours to use our FP. She said they were just parking and going to start heading in, so she would meet us there.

Very soon, we are at our destination.

It's a trap!

Bahahaha. I'm sorry, this one just cracks me up. It's just my Pop to a T.

Of course, we had to get a silly selfie together, because let's be real. This is how we do in this family.

I wasn't the rebel spy. Whomp whomp. I was hoping to be, but sadly it didn't work out. It just wasn't in the cards for me.

Alicia texted me that they were waiting in the exit of the ride when we got out. Mom and I made a quick stop in the store, because they were the only location with the Chip and Dale Ewok vinyls, and they were a must have for me. Then we headed out and Alicia was right there! With Landon and Alex of course. But Alex we didn't get a picture of. Sorry man!

But now I introduce you to the absolute cutest baby on the entire planet! Aaaahhh, Landon is just the cutest thing ever!

We chatted for a little while before we parted ways. We talked about Landon and how cute he is (clearly!), and how he's just so mobile now. He needs to be corralled, otherwise he just wants to take off running! I was so happy that we were able to cross paths at that point, because I wasn't sure if it was going to work out for us in the end. I'm so glad that it did work out. Alicia, it was so nice to meet you and your family!

Although we would run in to them a little later on.

Up next: Psssstt.....I really like you!

hehehe

I love fries with mayo.

But let's face it, the fries used in poutine are not normally belgian fries. Although one place does and it's awesome.

Haha, I'm sure they're not. I too obviously love fries with mayo. But real mayo. None of this Miracle Whip crap. :lmao:

Okay, how cool is the F&GF?!?

With all the new booths and such pretty, pretty things to see all over the park, how can you not fall in love with the F&GF?!?

You mentioned the DVC and going in May not really working out well because of the amount of points, making me think I might not want DVC after all. :scared:
May is the month I love going the most, especially early May. I guess it's not a matter of not being able to go, it's just a matter of giving up more of your points, right?

If you don't mind me being seriously nosey.....did you and your parents go in on the DVC together or is this strictly something you did on your own?
I've wanted to do it for a while now, but I hem and haw about it because I love staying at the Moderates so much. Yes, I realize I should probably try out a few of the DVC resorts.

Any way, sorry.....I made this about me. :worried:

By the way, I loooooove reading your TR's. :lovestruc
Y'all bring joy into our lives and that is truly a gift. I thank all y'all for that. :goodvibes

Okay, seriously....how cool was that Royal Room?!? Mackie and I knew it was going to beautiful, but we had no idea how truly magical it was going to be. :cloud9: We really loved being there. It was only two nights, but still! :lovestruc

Your make-up was sooo pretty! And PapaDon's fashion show with the bra was something else! LOL
I wish I had grown up with parents like yours, you are such a truly blessed young lady to have such an amazing set of parents. ::yes::

Are they by chance adopting?!? :upsidedow

Again, I am so sorry about your broken toe. I hope you heal quicker than they said.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: you got to meet Mary Ellen and Cynthia. Aren't they both just wonderful? I loved meeting Cynthia here in Chicago last year for lunch and I've had the good fortune of having a breakfast and a lunch with Mary Ellen (and hubby Denny) at Disney. The photopass pictures are absolutely wonderful. And what can be said about Pop? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Love your loot bag gifts. :)

Fun pictures while waiting for Star Tours.

And another DISmeet. You were just the queen of DISmeets this trip. :goodvibes

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

I totally love our PP pictures and I really, really want mine now! Who has them??? Cynthia??? Pat??? Marv???? Who am I in a share with???? Rosie????? I'm so lost!

I laughed so hard seeing them because we look like we are having TOO MUCH FUN!!!!!!

I am so glad I got to meet your guys as you were entering and we were leaving. Your parents are wonderful! I'm so glad you like your change purse. :thumbsup2

I am so bummed about your toe! That totally stinks and I don't blame you for being upset. You were doing so great with your running. No worries - your will catch up again. I know you will!

We MUST have trips that overlap again. You've got to meet Denny. I know he would love you and your folks!

[COLOR="Purple"
But now I introduce you to the absolute cutest baby on the entire planet! Aaaahhh, Landon is just the cutest thing ever!

[/COLOR]

Cynthia and I got to meet Landon not once, but twice! He truly IS the cutest baby on Earth! We got a kick out of watching him! Just adorable!

Well, I am embarrassingly late to the party. Sheesh! Seems like I only manage to get on here every few weeks these days. Sorry.... :hippie:

Great start (well, I guess we're past the start) to another great TR for sure!

I love that you are staying at BWV! We love it there so much. It's the only WDW resort where we have stayed, but we will be branching out next year. ;)

Um, I don't know - I do enjoy a nice duck dish, but there is just something wrong with YOU eating duck. :confused3 :rotfl2:

Love all the DIS meets!

I intend to be better about following along - I have been a bad DIS'er lately, and my own TRs are suffering from it. :(

So sorry about your broken toe and not being able to run! :sad2: Such a bummer. I will be extra vigilant around those cabinet corners now! :goodvibes

Love all the DIS-meets!! I feel left out, having not met you now. :rotfl: Especially cool to see you and Alicia, since I'm following both of your TRs. It seems so strange to see the two of you together - it's like when sitcoms would have a character from one make an appearance on another one later that night. :lmao:

(And to the people in the comments here that were discussing poutine and Le Cellier - I am not Canadian and certainly no expert, but I have had poutine in (real, non-Epcot) Canada and I have had the Le Cellier poutine. The real stuff was WAYYYYYYYYY better than Le Cellier's (as of like 2010 or whenever we had it). Just thought you'd like to know. :goodvibes)

Aww, no :( I'm sorry to hear about your toe. That's terrible.

What an awesome idea to exchange gifts. Looks like you guys had a great time together.

Your Pop really does steal the TR every time he's in it.

And you do not exaggerate. He's an adorable child.

I'm sorry about your broken toe. You'll be running again in no time.

I'm sure your dad loves all the photos with the ladies! He's such a ham! Glad you were able to have so many dismeets.

So sorry about the toe. I have a feeling with your determination you will be up in no time. Your pics with dad and the dismeets what an amazing experience. Love them they make me lol. Such a sweetittle man in those pics love his little glasses.

Aww Danielle, I am so sorry this happened to your toe. It's amazing how something so small can affect everything. I'll happily join in on the pity party especially since I know there'll be drinks!

YAY for another DISmeet. They are the best afterall. That's so sweet (but not surprising) that you hit it off right away.

Now I want to meet Mary Ellen even more. Wow those gifts!!!

AND ANOTHER DISMEET!!! This is so awesome!!! I'm so bummed I didn't know Alica and Alex in December since we were in the same place multiple times.

Man I wish I went to Disney in May!!!!

Ugh, so sorry to hear about your toe. Those thing s seem to always happen at the most inconvenient time. Like, if you weren't training for the princess half, your toe probably would have been fine. But since you are, of course it had to break. :( I hope it heals quickly and you can get to running again. On the bright side, at least you don't have to endure exercising in the July heat. Silver lining?:confused3

It was so hot out that day! And what I think was the worst was that the morning started out really nice. So it kind of tricked you into thinking you weren't going to melt under the sun's wrath by 2pm.

I'm glad to see your PP pictures with Mary Ellen and Cynthia did not disappoint! You all look like you're having tons of fun.
It's always a great experience to meet someone who's been on the DISboards with you for a long time. I was able to do that once, and you're right, it feels like you've known each other for years.

It was great meeting you, as well! I'm really glad it worked out and we were able to. I love how my kid looks absolutely miserable in that picture. :rotfl: with as many dis meets as he has under his belt already, he's going to think we go to Disney to meet people. :lmao:
