They Call Me MISTER PIG- He Said, She Said (9/1 Lights, Thunder, Fantasmic? Page 47)

We arrived two minutes late. Only time it ever happened. The waiting area was packed. People were sitting on the floor. We checked in and were given our pager. The Coral Reef is beautiful, heck even the waiting area is amazing. What was not amazing was a 30 minute wait where people who came in behind us (with the same party size!) kept getting seated before us. I finally made He go ask what was going on, then we waited another 10 minutes and were finally seated. 40 minutes for a table. With an ADR. Grumble, Grumble.

Unfortunately, this is something I hear all the time about Coral Reef. Guess you just have to expect a wait there. It is pretty, though.

She Said – Then came the business of ordering. I love seafood. I really do. But I can’t eat fish in front of fish! That would be like eating a steak in front of a cow. Just not good voodoo. This has caused some problems before, like I can’t order lobster tail at Red Lobster. I have already seen them in the tank, they weren’t hurting anyone and now you want me to go and sentence one to death. That one looked at me funny! Off with his tail!

:rotfl2:

I also love Aerosmith. Steven Tyler is a god.

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

She Said – He was ready to pack us up and go home. He was Disney done. He wanted his son. I missed the Baby too and had been in constant contact with my mom about him. But even with missing the baby I was not ready to cut my trip short. I knew how long I would have to wait for a follow up trip, and here he is all ready to go? I don’t think so.

Awww. That's a bummer. Sweet, though. I don't usually get the "I miss my kids" feeling until we are on the way home. Then I just want to BE home with the kids. Of course, mine are teenagers now, so they could care less if we're with them or not.

Ok I'm all caught up now. :rotfl2: I keep telling dh he needs to read your TR since it has a guys perspective. As of now he just thinks everyone on the DIS is a psycho lunatic. :rotfl: Including me!;)

Totally LOVE Cat's review of the Neverland Club. We are taking our 2 kids age 5 and 7 (will be 8) in October and I've been on the fence about this. I really want some park ride commando time without the kids. I'm glad she enjoyed it and it worked so well for you guys, minus the Disney burnout!

You all are such a cute family! :)

We are heading to Sci-Fi as well so I'm glad you enjoyed it. I think I'll ask for a burger for myself!

I also liked He's review of RNRC. We moved away as that was being built so I never got to ride on it. Its a priority in Oct for us!!! We cant wait. The launch sounds like its similiar to California Screamin' at DCA. Slingshots you at lightening speeds!!!

I also showed your pictures to Morgan (my dd), and I told her that Cat dances too. She wanted to know if she could come over and they could play/dance together! :cutie: I'm like ummm honey, she lives on the other side of the country. She looked so sad and disappointed. :sad1: she absolutelty adores other girls who dance. BTW, I hope Cat is doing better.

Anyway, sorry long rambling post as is my usual. Great TR. Cant wait to read the rest. So sorry its almost over.

It tooks some teeth pulling to get He into Disboards and He still thinks we are all freaks;) Of course He is one of us now! :rotfl:

Neverland Club is wonderful. I think your kids will enjoy it, plus parents need some fun too!::yes::

RNRC's launch is more intense than California Screamin. I really love CS though. Its a solid coaster and I love the loop with the Mickey Ears! I really need to convice He to do an adult only trip to Disneyland. :goodvibes

Aww thats so cute about your daughter. Cat is always having a hard time finding friends that care about dance as much as she does. She just lives for it! Her hand is still sore, I made her skip gymnastic privates today and she sobbed and sobbed for a good twenty minutes. I felt so bad but she needs to heal. :worried:

I would have dealt better with the Coral Reef wait if I could have figured out who they were seating and why, we had an ADR and people that checked in after us with the same party size were being seated before us. It was very annoying.

He is a big pile of mush when it comes to his kids. The whole drive back it was Baby this and Baby that. You can't help but love a man like that:lovestruc

And I am sorry updates are taking so long. The whole family has been struck with the dreaded summer cold  I am going to try for an update tomorrow though.

-Becca-

Sorry all! I know we are WAY past time for an update but the whole slew of us got a nasty summer cold. As of this morning it looks like He and myself are finally over it so we will work on writing and posting tonight. Thanks for understanding!

-Becca-

Sorry to hear about the cold! Glad you two are feeling better now! Did the children escape from it or do they have it, too?

They both had it. Poor Cat has had a rough time, her brother slammed her hand in the door leaving her with three broken fingers. Being sick on top isn't helping. Plus I am being a mean mom and not letting her practice gymnastics until closer to nationals so that she heals. She is so not happy with me right now. Currently she is in the living room, reading and pretending I don't exist. It must be very hard to have such an awful mother. ;)

-Becca-

Poor Cat! I can't even imagine! No wonder you didn't take her brother to Disney! :rotfl2:

:lmao: about the mean mom comment! I am a charter member of "You're the meanest mom EVER!" club!

 for Cat.

:rotfl2: I thought I was the meanest mom EVER.

OMG. What a hilarious TR! You two are a hoot! Anyway, I wanted to come out of lurkdom and say hello. :)

we should start a club, b/c I always thought I was the world's meanest mom;)
I love your TR and can't wait until the next installment.

I know! Poor Cat! The baby is obsessed with keeping doors and and drawers closed. SHe has been a little cross with the little guy ever since. I hope she doesn't hold a lifelong grudge... I did that to my step sister when we were little and she is still mad about it.;)

Poor Cat! She is having a rough time of it!

Wow. I so need to join that club. I am sure Cat will vouch for me!

 for Cat.

:rotfl2: I thought I was the meanest mom EVER.

Nope! Ask Cat. I AM the MEANEST mom EVER!

OMG. What a hilarious TR! You two are a hoot! Anyway, I wanted to come out of lurkdom and say hello. :)

Yea! Delurking! Woohoo! I am glad you are enjoying our little report! Thanks for the hello :)

You are ALL safe, it's me. I am the meanest mom in the entire world!!! :rotfl2:

Whew! That was a close one. Make sure to tell Cat that! ;)

Thanks! We need to get our kids together and let them battle it out over who has the meanest mom. :rotfl:

Anyway there will be an update bright and early in the morning! Night all!

Scooter Needs to Finish His Veggies!

He Said – On the second to last day of our Disney Adventure, we finally made it to an EMH event. We arrived at Disney Hollywood Studios bright and early. Bright and early to the point of nothing being ready yet.

She Said – We watched the rope drop, then He and Cat darted off to the Hat. (hee hee!) Anyway, I sprinted off the Fastpass distribution center at Rockin Roller Coaster, which must have some sort of huge gravitational pull. Half the people in the park were there I’m sure.

He Said – She met back up with us, and we shuffled over to the Great Movie Ride. It was supposed to be open. It wasn’t. I think some or all the people in charge of the attraction slept in. To pass the time we headed over to the Muppetvision 3-D show! She loooves Muppets, but I’m not so crazy about them. I was rather surprised at how funny the entire show was. Even those hard to please people like me enjoyed it.

She Said – I loooves Muppets. I’m obsessed with them. I’ve seen every Muppet movie, show, and/or attraction involving or pertaining to Muppets. I especially love the Jim Henson’s Christmas show that had the Muppets, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock combined. My favorite part was where the Swedish Chef tried to cook Big Bird. Needless to say, I love Muppets.

He Said – We strolled around, snapped a few photos, and headed over to the Great Movie Ride.

The Great Movie Ride was open! If your kid is a bit easy to spook, you might want to cover their eyes during the Alien part. Other than that, it was pretty entertaining. I’d suggest riding it if there is a wait of less than 20 minutes.

She Said – I love old movies. My grandparents made me watch them, so I loved this ride. It’s nothing spectacular, but it’s a nice, fun, staple ride at DHS.

He Said – From here we prepared for our voyage with the Little Mermaid. I really liked the underwater laser effects, and there were bubbles! If you’re even half alert you’ll notice the lack of order this show takes. But it’s quite enjoyable, and the Mermaid they had was the real deal! I think she was the same one we met in MK a few days back, and she was er… very attractive.

She Said – Lack of order? I didn’t notice, but she had a wonderful voice!

From here He became the nicest, most wonderful guy in the whole wide world. I love He. A lot. A lot a lot. Cause He let me go on Rockin Roller Coaster *while* staying with The Cat and watching the High School Musical pep rally.

He Said – I had done some complaining the previous day about wanting to go home and missing the baby and whatnot and managed to spoil her mood. This was retribution. Hundreds, maybe even thousands of girls ages 5-11 were on the rampage. There were fires, explosions, screaming, trampling on, and the general abuse of man’s natural stature and ability to sustain heavy loads on his poor back. Okay, maybe there weren’t fires and explosions. It surely would have helped. Men, if you’re smart, lead your girls to the far side of the park offering wonderful gifts like ice cream and candy. Unfortunately, this event is audible from even the most remote closed off bathroom in DHS.

To be brief, the pep rally is a solid 15 minutes of singing, dancing, pep, extra pep, and confetti. Keep an eye out for the kids from the crowd trying to dance. It’s hilarious to say the least. Unless it’s your kid, then it’s sad. Like a good dad, I had The Cat up on my shoulders. I’d rather her dance awkwardly there (causing me much pain) than out where people would pay attention to small details like lack of rhythm that usually render dancing into a humiliating spectacle.

She Said – I wasn’t there, but I refuse to believe that The Cat could dance that badly. If she does, then I’m really wasting my money on dance classes!

He Said – After the pep rally we went over to check out Lights, Motor, Action. A show was already in progress, so we grabbed fastpasses for it and went off to our ADR at the 50’s Prime Time Café. We arrived a little early, so we snagged a bunch of pictures of the waiting area. Everything looked funny. Like how the Jetson’s was futuristic for the 60’s, but it still looks all old. I have to move over now and let her take over

day7g.jpg

She Said – He sprained his ankle earlier today. He was trying to spike a tennis ball. He is now on painkillers. If he rambles that is why.

Anyway we were at Prime Time Café. We were the first family there and the hostess was very nice. She even snapped a group picture. I look highly demented in it, like I have too many teeth or something. Oh well.

day7f.jpg

We were seated at a TV table and Aunt Susie came in fully in character and scolded us about not setting the table. I went to work but apparently it wasn’t my job (for once), it was Scooter’s. Yup He had a new name.

We ordered our appetizer and I got the Fried Cheese. This is not mozzarella sticks like I was expecting but it is very good. Scooter ordered a milkshake to drink, which prompted a warning from Aunt Susie that dessert before dinner meant he better have a clean plate. She also noticed Scooter making quite a mess and gave him a bib. The man sitting at the table next to us laughed and so that Skippy wasn’t jealous he was given one as well.

day7h.jpg

Finally I decided that Cat couldn’t take any more Mac and Cheese and asked our waitress what they could do for her, her being a vegetarian and all. She was happy to substitute, saying that didn’t do it for any old reason but vegetarian was a whole different ballpark.

He Said – At this time I will refrain from any nasty comments about The Cat’s pickiness. I was still in trouble from the night before.

She Said - Scooter ordered some type of sandwich, which meant he lost because Princess (me!) ordered the fried chicken (but with green beans instead of greens) and it was so yummy. Look a rare food pic!

day7i.jpg

It was a lot of food though. And Scooter didn’t want to eat lettuce. He tried to hide it:

day7j.jpg

But Aunt Susie wasn’t having it. Hear comes the airplane!

day7k.jpg

He tried to tattle that I hadn’t finished all my lunch and couldn’t have dessert, but Aunt Susie gave me a clean plate sticker because unlike some people I had finished my veggies. :: Sticks out tongue at Scooter:: I swear I am pointing to the sticker and Not my bra strap!

day7l.jpg

And here is Scooter trying to decide on dessert. They are on a viewfinder!

day7m.jpg

Dessert was awesome and Cat finished hers earning her a clean plate sticker. Oh and yup I took more of the rare food pics.

day7n.jpg

He Said – I highly recommend Prime Time if you have an easy going sense of humor, for uptight, can’t let go, do not want to be force fed veggie types this is probably not your kind of place. I loved the atmosphere, and the TV clips were cute. They weren’t as cool as Sci Fi, no giant spearing a man, but they were still funny.

She Said – From here we headed over to LMA and started waiting in the FP line. We had that pin to give away burning a hole in Cat’s pocket and we (finally!) found a well behaved child to give it to, a boy who was about 11 and very sweet. Cat loved making him smile.

The FP at LMA allows you to get in a line and then enter before the regular crowd; this was able to secure us some nifty seats in the middle, shaded, and behind a row of unused handicap seats so we could stretch our legs. He thinks the FP were worthless but I disagree.

He Said – I have hobbled my way back into the driver’s seat! Stupid tennis accident… anyway, after much waiting in the hot sun, we were ready to see Lights, Motor, Action! Yay! The show was pretty awesome. It puts you right in front of the action, and even gives away a few production secrets. I don’t know how much those people had rehearsed that show, but I felt like they were pulling close calls every other minute. I’m not sure how hot the giant fireball at the end was for the people close to the front, but we felt a powerful wave of heat coming from it. And what a finish it was! This is perfect for guys big and small, and though it may be wishful thinking, I thought it was entertaining for the ladies too. If you’re already hot and sweaty from roaming the park, I wouldn’t suggest going to this attraction, it doesn’t cool you off much. I’d suggest going after a meal, it’ll give you time to digest and rest a bit more.
day7q.jpg

She Said – To be honest I sorta… slept through LMA. I was awake for the end and the beginning but I sorta drifted off in the middle. Which doesn’t say anything about the show. It just says that Becca gets sleepy after a big yummy meal. Anyway what I did see was rather good. I’m gonna go ahead and recommend it.

On the next webisode of Mister Pig: Lights, Thunder, Fantasmic?

Yea! You're back! Great report - And y'all seem like the perfect family to get picked on at 50's Primetime! ;)

50s Prime Time sounds like fun. I don't like veggies though, so I might be in trouble there. Plus my Adam is probably pickier than Cat!

Sorry about the ankle He.

hey guys! All caught up! Great posts! just a quick reply this time - gotta go pick up my daughter from the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL ! :cool1: :cool1:

Loved the pic of Cat driving and you two in the back seat! FUN! :)

Great update!! I love 50's Prime Time, the food and atmosphere are wonderful. Can't wait to read more.

Melissa

Becca - I finally went back and read your PTR - Wow what an amazing time! You are amazing to be able to handle so much all at once! I cheered with you when you had success with your weight loss, cried with you about your Grandfather, and got so stinkin mad when that mean old nasty person attacked you about your lifestyle! :furious: How dare they :( Your trip so far has been such a blast and I am only reading about it! Hope all is well in your house right now! Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip! :goodvibes

Great update! We have 50s Primetime booked and DH isn't one that generally likes to be picked on, but I warned him about this one...so we'll see how it goes! I hear the waiters and waitresses are pretty good at reading a person, so if he's obviously in the "don't tease me" mood, I'm sure they won't-and we'll just enjoy watching the antics with other families!

And if they do pick on him....well, I warned him! :rotfl:

I cannot wait to eat the Smores dessert.....:faint:

Just had to comment - my daughter's name is "Brooke Elizabeth"! When she saw your screenname she got so excited!!!:goodvibes

:cool1: Great name!! :goodvibes
