What kind of people eat someone else's birthday cake?
Savage animals. That kind.

What kind of people eat someone else's birthday cake?

As a mom, knowing how you do these little things in life to try and make special memories for your child, I think I would have pounded on their door and let them have a piece of my mind.Nice people! Good grief, some people are simply amazing. "Hey it's a free cake, hurry, let's eat it before they figure out it belongs to someone else! They can't make us pay for it!" Oink oink, snarf snarf snarf.![]()
?We were staying at the BWV when we returned to our room one late evening to find a cake, a Minnie drink cup and a balloon with a card. We called the front desk, and they confirmed the items had been sent to the wrong room.
They told us to keep the items as they couldn't take them back and deliver them to the right party, anyway. We presume they went ahead and sent out replacements to "Mary" who was being wished happy birthday from "Tom."
Also, WDW is rather known for surprises so perhaps the folks who found the unordered cake in their room thought it was a surprise meant for them.
It's not like the cake would have been retrieved and sent on to the child. I wouldn't want it to be!
This cake was meant to be left in someones room (while they were not there)
It likely was left in another family's room (while they were not there).
Obviously the other family should have fessed up immediatly.
But seriously here, if you knew your cake had been left in another's room....wouldn't you want a fresh cake ayway? I don't know, the idea of double delivered food to me is icky.
If I were Disney, I would say "keep it " and get a new cake to the intended family free of charge.
I say I am glad it all worked out, but will hold any outrage.

I think your missing my point of the OP.....The cake was delivered in a bakery box marked D_ _ _ _ _ _ 6th birthday to a woman who opened the room door one down & took it!
I would never want my nephew to have a cake someone else pawed but IMHO it's a disgrace that someone took it.
My feeling is you never hurt a kid period...just sad.

The same people that would open and disassemble a gift basket with another person's name on it. That happened to me more than once when I was in the gift basket business. It's amazing.
How is your new job at Disney going? I never saw if you posted an update since you started.

Hey Peg, a little OT for the moment, but I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering this & you're amongst friends on this thread. How is your new job at Disney going? I never saw if you posted an update since you started.

1.) I believe the OP said the family accepted the cake- it wasn't left in their room, it was delivered when they were there.
2.) How could they not realize the cake wasn't meant for them? They could have at least called and let the front desk know that the cake had been misdelivered. Yes, Disney would have said to eat it anyway, but they would have at least known the mistake. Instead of having a nice surprise for their son, the family was left calling around and scrambling to get the cake they ordered. That is the issue to me.
