They are closing our Disney Store!! How COULD they???

I just found out from a CM at our local DS that they are closing!! Last days are supposed to be mid-February!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!

NOW what am I supposed to do??? I loved to shop there!!

Are there other unfortunate places that are losing their DS's too???

We lost the one at the closest mall last January! Now we have to drive 1/2 hour to the big mall in town--the one that is always really crowded and you have to park way far out! I don't go there anymore unless absolutely necessary.

We lost the one at Regency Square in Richmond the day after Christmas. That one was closest to work. WE have 2 others in the greater Richmond area but they are a pain to get to

I'm not sure but I think our closest one is in either St. Louis or Kansas City now! Both are about two hours away from me. I guess it will be major online shopping when I am at home and outlet shopping when we are in Orlando. We will just have to make it REALLY count.

I guess since they have not really had the best merchandise for a while the bottom line is suffering. They could save these stores if they would stock better merchandise.

BECKA!!! I was wondering if you were still around!! Isn't this horrible news!! My friend told me they just found out tonight(?) and that the closing date will be Feb. 18th.

We will have to stage a little DIS protest...once this store closes we will have to go over 2 hours to St. Louis or Kansas City to get to one.

That's too bad! We lost one of ours a year or so ago, It's just not the same going to that mall anymore, the DS was always our first (and last) stop when we hit the mall! Now it's some stupid shoe store!

Welcome to the club

Our first & only visit to our Disney Store was a couple of weeks ago & when we got there the store was well on the way to closing.

That was the only Disney Store in Queensland to my knowledge & it was over an hours drive from here to get there.

Didn't even know we had one over here until recently, & even then it was almost too late!!

Pooh Girl, I had a feeling one of the Richmond ones would close. Two closed down in Hampton Roads and that area is much more populated than here. I live 2 miles from Chesterfield Towne Center and was thankful that wasn't the store to close.

We lost one in Boston over a year ago. I was surprised they closed that one becuase it was in Fanuieul Hall in Boston and it was always busy.

There are still 3 reasonably close around here, and, honestly, they could close all 3 and we wouldn't miss them. I don't know how it is by you, but the ones around here the selection is horrible. We've resigned ourselves a good while ago to what was mentined above, make the most shopping wise of our next visit to WDW.

We lost our store on December 26 ~ and I miss it terribly. The other 2 in town are on the other side of town so we don't get there often!

Our only DS on Cape Cod closed, I miss it so much

I used to shop for gifts in there, but to tell you the truth I loved going in because all the CM's were so nice and didn't mind talking about Disney at all! They made me feel like I was there sometimes.
It's just not the same buying online from TDS.

The TDS around here are still open- there are several of them.

Although to be honest, I don't think I would notice if the one at the mall I frequent the most closed. They've had such a poor selection since they revamped

Unless you're buying plush or children's clothes, they've got nothing for you.

The one closest to us is still open, but like others have said, the selection stinks now. I almost wish it would close, it's really quite pitiful to walk by it now.

The Danbury CT and Copley Place (Boston) DS are supposed to be closing by the end of January !!! This will leave Boston with no DS . But the will still have them in Braintree, Kingston, Taunton, Attleboro, Burlington, Saugus and Natick which is also a Gallery
oops can't forget the Western Part of the State with the one in Holyoke at the Ingleside mall!!!
I think I got them all for Mass!! at least these are all the ones I have been too!!!!
