These Kids Make Me Wish You Could Curse on the DISBoards (May '11 Trip) - DONE 9/14

We met Max at the EPcot Character greet the last time we were there. Yes, he is real. We used our extra magic hour and found him. Here's he is:

The baby voice. Thank God I don't have to deal with that. Someone would probably smothered with a pillow. I know bad mommy.

I just felt the need to mention that every time I read an update on your tr I have an overwhelming urge to sing Ice Ice Baby.

That is what's called "getting the reference" :)

I think Henry (who's 8 1/2) will find his baby voice funny until his voice finally changes; unfortunately WAY too many years in the future.

By then, you'll have other things to worry about, like how he's going to be able to perform with Greg, Bobby, Cindy, Marsha, and Jan with his voice sounding like that.

The baby voice. Thank God I don't have to deal with that. Someone would probably smothered with a pillow. I know bad mommy.

Thanks for the suggestion! ;)

Whew...I finally made it to the end so I could comment on how much I am enjoying reading your TR! :goodvibes Great updates. ;)And it amazes me that with my 1000's of pictures taken at WDW you have so many of things I haven't seen much less taken pictures of.

Those playgrounds look really cool and I know my DD11 would play in them in a heartbeat. Problem is we never go during the Flower Festival. Oh well, guess she'll just have to settle for EE and TT (her favs)

I've never seen Max at WDW but I have seen him occasionally here at Disneyland in DCA. I have never seen Marie and being cat lovers I would love to get DD to take a picture with her. Since she's a cat she probably would. She's at the age now where she doesn't like taking pictures with most of the characters anymore. :sad2: However, she still loves Pluto and Chip and Dale. :wizard:

Can't wait to read more about your trip. Your photos are beautiful!;)

Being the mother of 4 boys, I can tell you that Dylan is behaving quite normally! :lmao:

I thought that Remy was pretty cool. I do like that restaurant, but not as place to go all of the time.

I didn't know Max was ever in the parks. Cool picture!

Having Remy come to the table is a nice touch. Maybe someday I'll make it over to Chefs du France.

I got so distracted that I forgot to mention that I agree Remy coming to the table is really cool. We'll have to check that out sometime. Thanks for the Brady Bunch reference. I will age myself if I say that it was my all time favorite show growing up (besides Scooby Doo).

I can't believe you saw Max-- so cool. You must have had some pixie dust! pixiedust: We went to MNSSHP and were able to see Jane (Tarzan was not arriving until an hour later) and thought that was an experience. I love seeing rare characters!

I have a ten year old boy- Dylan was definitely acting "age appropriate"

Two updates I missed!! :sad2: Stupid work :headache:

Looks like you accomplished a lot in the rest of your Epcot day. Although Kristin didn't get nearly enough to drink!! :scared1::laughing:

Cracked up at the picture of Emily playing the drums. Well dancing behind the drums ;)

Looks like you had a good time at Chefs. My first time eating there was in May too. Had the soup. I NEVER had French Onion soup. Despise onions. However, we were in Disney the land where everything is good....I ate it and loved it. Still didn't eat the onions though. ;) It was lunch so I had the ham and cheese (croques something or other) and the same creme brulee as you. :thumbsup2

eta forgot to mention that I am a big British humor (humour) fan too!! Sometimes it is hard to understand....I watch A LOT of the shows on BBC America :)

Somehow I was thinking that you were going to let the kids go swimming :rolleyes1 I would have too. Hypothetically, since I don't have any

Tracy

Thanks for the shout out Nilla! :thumbsup2 Nothing like a GMS to ease the craving for an adult beverage. Although, I've got to tell you - that Casa beer from Mexico sounds pretty good. I need to put that on my list of "must try" drinks. Funny how my favorite drinks are all from Mexico.

I had to post this picture of Dylan because he looks soooooooo NOT happy!!!!! He actually looks quite mature in this picture. Like a young man - a not happy young man - but a young man all the same.

Emily's pix are precious. She is definitely mastering the fine art of posing!

I have been lurking and reading and am really enjoying the report. I too love giving away extra FP's as we leave, but I here you. Some people really seem to not enjoy the gesture. I even had one person this year refuse them from us because they didn't believe me that they could be used after the return window. Go figure!

Can't say for sure, but I would imagine those playgrounds would be up year-round. The theming around them might be different, though.

Kristin refuses to believe this :)

Having Remy come to the table is a nice touch. Maybe someday I'll make it over to Chefs du France.

It was cool, and unexpected. It was a good place to eat, but it just didn't sell us as being an "every year" thing. It's hard to reach that status, though.

Thanks for the Brady Bunch reference. I will age myself if I say that it was my all time favorite show growing up (besides Scooby Doo).

I loved it growing up, too. They did a nice job with the spoof movies, too.

I love seeing rare characters!

So do we, and this was a great year for them. Pixar weekend recap coming up...

Looks like you accomplished a lot in the rest of your Epcot day. Although Kristin didn't get nearly enough to drink!! :scared1::laughing:

I actually found the receipts from our trip the other day, and let's just say there WILL be a "corrections and clarifications" post coming tonight :upsidedow

eta forgot to mention that I am a big British humor (humour) fan too!! Sometimes it is hard to understand....I watch A LOT of the shows on BBC America :)

My friend just tipped me off to the Catherine Tate show, but I haven't checked it out. I'm a bit behind on the BBC shows, though I did love the Kumars. MPFC and The Young Ones were my favorites, though!

Thanks for the shout out Nilla! :thumbsup2 Nothing like a GMS to ease the craving for an adult beverage.

See above for a mention of an upcoming "corrections and clarifications" post :confused3

I had to post this picture of Dylan because he looks soooooooo NOT happy!!!!! He actually looks quite mature in this picture. Like a young man - a not happy young man - but a young man all the same.

He was, actually - he was being "all bidness", a look that also showed up in the Splash Mountain picture, Test Track picture, Space Mountain picture...

...but not the Dinosaur picture. It's hard to stay in character during that one :)

I have been lurking and reading and am really enjoying the report. I too love giving away extra FP's as we leave, but I here you. Some people really seem to not enjoy the gesture. I even had one person this year refuse them from us because they didn't believe me that they could be used after the return window. Go figure!

I heard a family talking while the kids were playing at the Fairies park last year, and the Dad was saying that they had between x and y to go on Test Track, so I butted in and told them they just had to show up after x. They kind of looked at me with a, "how dare you talk to us?" look, and presumably ignored my advice :)

On the other hand, there was also the time, a few years back, where a man in the elevator for Astro Orbiter asked me, "what are these Fast Passes you are talking about?" I went on to give a tutorial to EVERYONE inside, and from the sound of it, it was that most any of them had ever heard about it. Much better reception that time. I guess the difference is having someone actually solicit my advice, as opposed to me just shoving it down their throats :)

Love the trip report. Can't wait to read more!

More Please! And Happy 4th everyone! party:

Tonight! Happy 4th!

LIES! All LIES! This trip report is a total sham!

Ok, calm down - it's not THAT bad. Yes, I messed a few things up. Yes, I forgot a few things. But for the most part, it's accurate. The biggest controversy surrounds the drink purchases in Epcot on Day 6, and through the magic of procrastinating on dealing with the receipts from our trip, I have JUST discovered a fairly accurate account of our Day 6 drinking:

3:09 pm: Kristin and the kids get slushies at the African Outpost. See, there IS a purpose for that place. You can't get drinks anywhere else in World Showcase, can you? Let's find out!

But first, the kids spend some of their $$$ on foam sword and shield sets from the Norway pavilion. If they're going to hit each other, I can at least tolerate it if it's with somewhat soft weaponry. I can tolerate it even more if said soft weaponry was purchased in Epcot. Skol Disney!

3:15 pm: Ok, maybe you CAN get drinks at other places in WS, and adult drinks at that! Such as my Altenmunster Oktoberfest draft.

3:52 pm: And here's the kicker. Sorry, MEK...you do NOT win the movie tickets. It appears that the Gran Mariner Slushie was on Day 3. On Day 6, Kristin kicked it off less than an hour after me we an unknown white wine from the France Pavilion. All of that pointless "recap" for nothing...but I had fun writing it, so it's not a total loss, is it?

4:01 pm: Dylan gets a caramel (or something) covered pretzel rod in Germany.

4:09 pm: While Kristin waits in line to buy an Xmas ornament, Em decides she now wants a pretzel rod. We get that and a chunk of caramel (or at least that's what the receipt says), which I'm assuming was, as Dylan would say, "heaven".

4:50 pm: I get a Kronenbourg. I'm actually surprised that it took me over an hour to get my second beer.

5:27 pm: Kristin gets another French wine. The receipt has failed me in that it only reads "4 oz taste tier 2", so I can't tell exactly what kind of wine it was. Better notes next year, folks. Better notes.

The rest of the drinks were at dinner. If you're amazed that I could have such as bad memory when it comes to what we drank that day, you should really think about that again.

Sorry for the cheap substitute for an update tonight. Tomorrow, we watch the rope fall as we follow the smoke from Casey, Jr. into the glory that is the Magic Kingdom. Will Emily go back on Space Mountain? Will we actually get to meet Rapunzel (don't spoil it, saraheeyore!!)? Will I remember what alcoholic beverages we purcased inside the Magic Kingdom? With the possible exception of question #3, it's anyone's guess. See you tomorrow!

Darn, I missed an update and then corrections to update.

Great Epcot photos. I love the pics of the kids with the "goofy" character (sorry....not up on the "younger Disney characters"). Em looks adorable with Marie (we saw her for the first time last year).

Your meal at LCdF looks yummy; I'd go just for the French Onion Soup. :worship:

Great picture. :thumbsup2

This is redonkulous...how on earth did I miss this TR?! But I am here now and so very happy :) Great report so far!! And as a fan of drinks around Epcot, I appreciate your hard work and determination to keep the times, beers, and other drinks accurate! :cool1:

Gotta love the time index drink report. :lmao:

If you have nothing to do one day, you can read it extra slowwwwwwly and drink along with us!

Thanks for the chuckles... waiting patiently... :rolleyes1

Hey!

Your meal at LCdF looks yummy; I'd go just for the French Onion Soup. :worship:

We (Kristin especially) are big FOS fans, so this was a must-try. It didn't disappoint.

It must've been the deceptive TR title that roped you in, right ;)

More updates tonight! F'real this time!
