Mornin My MAYers.

Still sick, still in bed.

Pretty sure now it's Swine.
Fever still-- ranges at any given moment from 100.0 - 101.4-- I just took it and it was 101.4.

Slight cough, sore throat, joints and muscles feeling a bit better. Headache bad this morning. Dizziness, slight nausea upon waking. No other digestive issues.

So there ya go- my Swine Flu report. Just to let you all know what to look for if it comes your way. It starts off just kind of with an "I feel icky" feeling. Then hits within an hour or two of feeling "I am miserable".

Sea-------- OMG--- you guys are all so cute! You had a blast-- I can tell! That pic of you all with Mickey in the parade really and truthfully made me LOL. :rotfl: It was so cute. Glad Cornelia was able to go with you all. And-------------- that Pretzel Lena was eating????????????? In the shape of a ghost??????????? I am SO making these for Belle's class.!!!!!!:goodvibes

ANd the Old Hag!!! :scared1::scared1: WOW!
When I saw it, I said out loud "Oh my GOSH! It;s the Hag!!!!!!!!!" Beau Gator the Bulldog sat up and looked at me like, "Um did you say what's in the BAG? 'Cause if it's treats, I am DOWN."

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Typical Bully behavior.:lmao:

KB--- your son is very handsome!!! It looks like he had a blast too! But why weren't you on TOT????????:lmao: So glad you're having a great time.:cloud9:

Hi MAri!!!!!!!!!!!! Org Chem.... OWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! I feel for you honey. I really and truly do. ANd I hope everything comes out okay for your baby girl with her teeth. Belle gets cavities a lot too. It is a pain. Good luck today.

Hi Lake, how's the quiet treating you????

Hi Shelly--- that's terrible about your son's game.:guilty: But yay for the other baby's game!:goodvibes And... I know you must be getting excited about the trip. Soooooo fun.
All day yesterday- I was on the computer looking at pics of WDW. I wanna go.:guilty:

Hey- I got a book for everyone to read. It was written by a DIS'er. It's called MouseJunkies. By Bill Burke. http://www.mousejunkies.com/
It is soo cute and good. It talks about why we're all obsessed with the Mouse. It made me cry. Not hard to do- but still. Everything he says is so funny and true.
I got mine at Barnes and Noble, but I think you could get it from Amazon cheaper.

Okay-- someone talk to me. I'm rambling.

Jo

PS--- Sea------ could you pretty please send me one of those burgers??? OMG--- they look sooooooo good. Remind me of when i was a little girl and we'd get burgers from Shoney's, aka Big Boy. Lovved their burgers. Those kind of looked like them to me.:thumbsup2

Morning MAYers!

Good luck at school Mari. And at the dentist! :wizard:

Have you been to the doctor JO? Is there any type of test to tell if it is infact the Swine flu? I am so paranoid of it now that school has started. Last week DS10's class had 7 kids out sick. Luckily he only had whatever he had over that weekend and didn't have to miss any school. I am so worried that they are going to come home sick the weekend we are to leave for WDW. I did get an email from his teacher saying that the school is installing hand sanitizer dispensers. They did this at DH's work too. Well, anyway I sure hope you feel better soon! :goodvibes

Not much going on here today. Just some laundry & cleaning. It looks like we might actually get some rain. We actually do need it, so I can't really complain. And it's supposed to stay warm through the week!

Hey Shelly-

Yep- they can do a rapid flu test- and it's either (+) or (-) for influenza. They aren't seeing any seaonal flu yet- so if it's (+), then they are saying it is the Swine. Some places aren't even testing anymore b/c of the sheer amt of (+)'s they're getting and so just dx'ing based on symptoms. I'm 99.99999% sure mine is Swine. They may or may not give out Tamiflu- they are trying to reserve it for the really bad cases and underlying health issue patients.

And then if you do get an RX for it, then you have to try to find it-- a lot of places are out of stock. And then if you do find it-- it's around $75 WITH your insurance. Not cheap.

So- that's why I haven't gone. It is definitely more than a cold, and given the general achiness of my muscles- ( I feel like I worked our in a field all day long-) I'm pretty positive it is the flu.

With all that being said--- it is hitting everyone differently- some people are getting really really ill- some just mild. It's affecting everyone differently, it seems.

So far Mark hasn't gotten it. He went to work, after getting the kids up and out the door. Bless his heart.:rotfl2:

I hope you guys stay healthy. It would be awful to have it while on vacation.:scared1:
It's all over the schools here- it's really crazy.

Jo~Here's the picture of DD10's cake that you asked for. We had her party yesterday. The theme was...Harry Potter. She's obsessed! This is the second year that she wanted a HP party, so this year we had to get a little more creative with the cake. Can you tell it's a broom?

And you finally get to see DH! That's him in the background. :rotfl2:

Trix- what a cute cake! I knew immediately that it was a broom.

Did you make it? How did you get the "broom" part made?? Did you have a special pan?

It's adorable.

How was the party?

Jo

Yes, my sister and I made it. She took the Wilton cake decorating classes a while back, so she has some helpful hints, but I'm waaaaaay more of a perfectionist than she is. If I had been 100% in charge of the cake, it would have looked a little different.

For the "broom" part, I baked the cake in the Pampered Chef batter bowl, like you can for the Barbie cakes. You never had to make one of those??? :scared1: Wilton has a pan for it, too...hmmm...I think it's called the Wonder Mold or something like that. Then she used a #22 tip to make the bristles, starting at the bottom and "pulled" them up. DD10 frosted the cupcakes and I made the lightning bolts and HP's out of chocolate. I had fancier HP's, but they shattered in the freezer because the parchment paper I had them on blew around when the freezer fan came on. :headache:

The party was really good for the most part. She got great stuff. But my brother and SIL were soooooooooooo weird about my new niece. She's seven weeks old now and they're still just nutty! :crazy2: They FINALLY let me hold her (AFTER my MIL who isn't even related to them!!!:mad::mad:) and she started to cry (the baby, not my MIL ). My brother came and took her right away from me! Like I didn't know what to do with a crying baby!!! They are ridiculously super over protective of her...not in a cute way...in a CRAZY way. And I thought I was bad!

So do you think that the Swine flu is something that you get once and then you are done with it? Or can you just keep catching it over and over?

JO - I said something in my PTR to make you laugh since you aren't feeling well. You'll have to see if you can find it!

Trix - Great cake! DS7 is having a POTC party. Kind of. Well, we were just going to use all the Hawaiian decorations we used for DS10's pool party last spring, but then he wanted a POTC cake. Then we ended up with some pirate decorations too. So now it's a Hawaiian/Caribbean party! :upsidedow :rotfl:

Oh and I won't be making the cake. I'll leave that up to Giant Eagle! Just too much going on to throw in making a fancy cake this weekend.

LOL- Nope. Never made the Barbie cakes.

For the longest, I just called my cake lady up and had her make me cakes. When I got back here, I ran into her and she said she wasn't baking anymore b/c people weren't willing to pay her what she'd put into the cakes. ( And they were unbelievable). But she told me she'd still bake for my fam b/c I'd always double what her going rate was (I never felt like she charged enough and always told her so.)

But now my kids just want me to make my Perfectly chocolate cake with Buttercream frosting (Mcat) and for Drew and Belle, they just want my choc chip Pound cake. So---- I don't do a lot of regualar birthday cakes anymore.

I'd rather get one from Publix-- (my fave and we don't have them here.) so my MIL always gets me one for my Bday at Christmas.

Your choc was flying around the freezer?? LOL!:wizard:

Hi guys! My last day in PGH before I leave! I probably won't have time to check in after today - but I'll talk to you guys in a few weeks. :goodvibes

Jo - I'll give the gators another chance. Don't worry. Tebow doesn't throw too much does he? From what I saw he is a scrambling play making QB.

Reminds me of a QB that I love too..... :rolleyes1

Big Ben!!!

I haven't seen anyones pics - but I'll look at DL, Burgers, and cakes when I get a chance!!!

Oh, and Jo I am getting that Mousejunkies book. It looks so good! I bought 4 new books for my trip. LOL. That will make 5. Bob is going to pick it up for me at the bookstore and bring it with him :yay:

I bought -
Baby Proof - Emily Griffin
Remember Me - Sofie Kinsella
Something Borrowed - Emily Griffin
Water for Elephants - Sara Gruen
