Morning !!!!

Sea--
I'm so very glad you had a nice therapy session.:goodvibes Your Mickey bar looked very cool and yumm-o.
ANd congrats on D23!! We saw all the literature when we were there-- for some reason, I thought you already had a memebership?
You'll have to give us a review of the goods.
How's Lena doing? Tell her my thoughts are with her.

Lake- so glad you are having such a wonderful vacation in Pgh. My kids like to get their school supplies a t Target as well---- :goodvibes

Trixie--- omgosh-- SUpporting Tebow. I'm not sure he would approve.:rotfl:
My Mom is in the doldrums as of last night b/c she can't go "Support Tebow" opening night--- she has to go to the rehearsal dinner!!
So I shall go in her stead -- and find a place I can take MCat-- so we can cheer on the Gators. That'll work. I'm thinking this place... it's so much fun. http://www.wildwingcafe.com/our-locations/charleston-sc.php

Shelly- well, I wavered on your resort last night. I think OKW is the place for you guys. I've been wanting to go there as well-- I think we talked about that, didn't we?? It's beautiful in pics. And you could take pics for me.:rolleyes1
However---- I go back and forth.....
if it's cold while you're there---- and it very well could be---WL would get you into the holiday spirit.:santa: It is a beautiful place with the fires going---- very snuggly, cozy- and neat. Plus you could go over to the campfire sing along with Chip and Dale b/c you'd be close AND I think that they do smores over the fire pit at WL.:rolleyes1
I'm not making the decision easier for you , am I?????

I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you decide-- and everyone seems to think that a split stay isn't hard at all. :confused3 It will be interesting to get your take on it.

I'm jealous.

:goodvibes

Morning all! :goodvibes Yes. The MAYer meet was super fun! I wish you all could have come - but maybe next year we'll have to do it again... Maybe in Cali.... with Sea.... and DL... :rolleyes1

Shelly- love your report of the mayer meet. It was great.
The pics are great too... ummmmm... aside from the one with my mouth open...:lmao:

Glad the boys liked their treats, and yes..me and my canadian info..:rotfl:
If someone is interested that teacher in me comes flying out. Just a hard habit to break.

Our kids slept till about 8 a.m., and as you know that is late for them. Sorry you missed church.:lmao: Didn't mean to keep you "OUT" so late!!!! :rotfl:

We did go up the incline afterwards, and got a good view of the city all lit up at night. I'll post pics once I am home.
Good news too Mayers, after accidently dropping my camera on the cement by the fountain, I did get it working again. So happy about that.

I loved meeting you all, and I hope we can do it again sometime.
The invite to visit us is always there.

This morning we visited the Senator heinz history museum ( an antiques roadshow type show was doing a stop there!!!) CRAZY BUSY!!!!!, then we walked around downtown, and then drove out to Coraopolis this afternoon and took in Target. Bought some of the kids back-to-school stuff...they like getting it there. That way it's different from everyone else's at school.

Tomorrow we will head back to the city, and see the Carnegie Science Center, and let the kids run and play before we head home, and trap them for another 5 hours in the car.

Okay...the kids are bugging to go in the pool... so I guess I should run... I'll check back in later.

:snooty:- Lake

(ps. - RF - tell BOB I'll get him his o'henry bar soon!!!!!) :)

Well, you didn't keep us OUT too late. :rotfl: I was so happy when you said that. LOL. I don't know why, but t's one of those words that pops out at me in a Canadian accent. Everytime we watch hockey - I giggle and repeat back what everyone says.

It's all in love though. :goodvibes

SO - MAYers... be honest! How bad are our 'Yinzer' accents?? :rotfl2: I need to know! I swear I don't have one at all - but Bob's sneaks out every once in a while.

RF~~

Guess who was in my town's big festival parade yesterday?

Dan Bylsma!

He grew up here...how did I not know that???

I LOVE Dan Bylsma. He saved the Pens this year. He seems really cool and down to earth.

I think he's pretty hot too.... Like, in a nerdy way.

But don't tell Bob that... :rolleyes1

Shelly - I would definitely do the split stay! It would be an awesome way to see more resorts. And I agree with Jo. The WL may be the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit. It truly is a gorgeous resort.

On hold with Disney right now . . . . Estimated hold time - 11 minutes.

Guess I shouldn't have called the day after the 2010 rates were released.

Still no November hours. . .

Shelly- good grief- they aren'tr making getting ADR's easy, are they???

Unbelievable.

J~

Well? What's up??? What happened???

Inquiring minds want to know! :rotfl2:

Well my decision between WL and OKW was made easy when there were no standard rooms left at WL! I sure wasn't paying $50 extra per night for a "courtyard view". So, I booked OKW for my last 2 nights!!!

I am very excited! :yay: I know rumor has it that OKW is in need of some room updates, but it's only for 2 nights. I am excited about the room size and the balcony and the proximity to DTD. Not so excited about the long bus ride we will probably have to the MK that Saturday morning though. But we will only be staying until about 2-3 that afternoon, so I won't have the closing crowds to contend with.

We have just had such excellent bus service at the moderates and I have heard horror stories about the deluxe buses. But I guess just staying for 2 nights will be a good way to test it! :goodvibes

Sorry Shelly- I meant about the Nov hours not being out yet.

I can't ever make plans for dining until I know hours and which parks I'll be in.

:thumbsup2

How does everyone chhose? Do you choose restaurants and then park days or park days and then restaurants?

I do the latter.

Shelly- did you decide anything with ressies????

WL???

OKW??:banana::banana:

Neither??

POLY???????????????????:rotfl::banana::banana::banana:

YAY for OKW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't have paid extra either for a courtyard at WL.

Oooh- did you request a bldg for OKW?????? I like the looks of the bldg down by the canal. That's where I'd ask for.
Peaceful.

I am so excited for you!!!

Oh, and jealous too but I'll try not to say that 100 more times before the trip.
Only 99.:lmao:

Sorry! Gottcha now. Yep, can't really finalize my ADR choices without park hours!

I need to rethink my ADR's now since we will only have the free DDP for 6 nights. . .

I choose my restaurants first, then wait until I know what days I will be at each park - then whenever I call to make my ressies - I plug them into whichever one is closest to the park that we will be at that day. :goodvibes

It works pretty well for us.

Thanks JO! :goodvibes

No, dang it I totally forgot about making a room request for OKW. Well I'm not really prepared to anyway. Maybe I can add that in there whenever I call back with my flight info for ME.

I know nothing about OKW!! I know you and I discussed it once awhile back, but I really know nothing about the buildings and locations. . . Are the entrances interior or exterior? I think the resort is very large if I remember correctly. I hope the pool is awesome! Oh my, more researching to do. . . :surfweb:

That's okay, you can be a little jealous. I am still a lot jealous of your DL and HA trips! :rotfl:

Okay, so here's what we've got!

POR, Free Dining, 8 day base tickets for Sun Nov 7 - Fri Nov 13. Then OKW Room Only for Fri Nov 13 - Sun Nov 15.

The 8 day base tickets are good for 14 days from the first day of use, so they will cover the entire stay even after we switch resorts. The DDP is good until midnight the day we check out of POR on the 13th. So if I work things right we will only be without the DDP on Saturday the 14th. Sometimes the kids share CS meals and we always have a ton of snack credits left, plus one night the kids will go to the Kids Club and they won't use their TS credits that night, so we should have enough to get us through Friday!

The switch cost us $65 more. I told DH I would only do it if it was a pretty even exchange. That's pretty even to me!! If I could have got a WL standard room it would have only been $18 more because it was even less than OKW. I could have got BCV for $205 more, but didn't think DH would be too thrilled to call that an even exchange. Especially for only 2 nights.

So I am very happy with what I got and I hope a split stay isn't a huge pain in the rear!! :wizard:

Sounds as if Disney raised ticket prices, rooms, and the DDP significantly for 2010. What's the deal? Are we expecting the economy to turn around? From everything I read/hear we aren't really expecting that to happen until 2011 or 2012.

Here's a thread about the DDP. And it's priced based on what season you go in too. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2246670

I don't believe we will ever pay for the DDP again.

Hey everyone...My mother-in-law just passed away about a half hour ago. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I know I can count on you guys!

Seacrest

Sea - I am so sorry about your MIL. I am glad you got to goto DL yesterday! You guys have been thru so much!

:thumbsup2

Thanks for the TR for the MAYer meet! It looks like you guys had a blast!

Somehow this weekend, BOTH my kids had outgrown all their shoes except flipflops. DS needed new athletic shoes and football cleats. DD needed new church shoes as welll as casual shoes for school.

We went to church, (uh... we were not OUT to late the night before ), and then meet my in-laws who were passing thru Little Rock for lunch at a place called Buffalo Grill. My DH didn't get to stay very long at lunch, one of his co-workers died tragically in a four-wheeler accident yesterday. (Jo- this has been on the local news here. Just a short blurb.) So, DH had to go into the office for the afternoon. Say a prayer for this family, he left a wife, DD4, and DD3. So while DH was at work, the kids and I shopped for shoes!

Also, DSW just opened here and I have been twice! Once for me and once for DD! That place is awesome!!!
