???? RF what was the name of the store that you were going to visit to check out patio furniture and stuff a few weeks back.
I need some new outdoor cushions..and thought I could try there. It was a chain I think and I am hoping there is one by our hotel by the airport.

I know a bizarre out of the blue question...sorry!

I decided to clean and organize the kids closets today...that way I can see what they may need for the fall before we hit the outlet next weekend. I'll do outdoor stuff tomorrow on a not so rainy/very muggy day.
Emmy's is almost done..on to Ethan's this afternoon.
hmmm.... maybe mom should do her own......

Jason won't like to hear the news about Ben.... it better not disrupt our season.

:confused3

I know. I hope that it all blows over pretty quickly. :sad2:

The store was called Garden Ridge - it's right off of the parkway near the airport. Actually, it shares a parking lot with the 'airport shuttle parking' so it's definately close to where you'll be.

It's pretty nice, they have some good deals and some not so good deals. That's where I got my DR and patio tables from. :goodvibes I can take you out there when you guys come to PGH if you want. :yay: I might have some extra money and I have a huge empty wall in my LR and am looking for new pics that won't look silly on that wall ( my TV is on that wall and I am not sure how to accessorize around it )

Some pics at DL & DCA from this weekend.

Thank you heather!!! It is very close to where we are staying... I might have to check it out. You guys have so many more stores, so glad we have been in the house a little while first. I have a better idea of what I am looking for now, and I won't be wasting my money.

.... I've just discovered that not only is Graden Ridge near where we are staying but so is IKEA and Target....shhhhhhh...don't tell Jason...:rotfl::lmao:

Afternoon MAYers!

The rain cleared off so the kids and I headed out to the garden center. Got everything I was looking for. Now if I can just get DH to get started on helping me plant it all when the kids are at VBS tonight!

Lake - Are you staying one night by the outlets or in Pittsburgh the whole time? I was just thinking about you when I drove by the outlets/hotels on my way to the garden center. We are more like 8 miles from there now instead of 3!

I'm going to our garden center tomorrow for plants and trees, and more soil and mulch is arriving this weekend. Looks like I'll be busy before we come your way. But I love how my gardens are coming along.

As for hotels... each night we are in a new location.

Friday night we are across from the outlet.
Saturday night we are downtown.
and Sunday night we are out near Coraopolis and the airport...

Jason had a few free nights at a few different hotel chains..so we are bouncing around a bit...but on the plus side all our hotel rooms and breakfasts are free for the weekend. Can't argue with that.
Plus all the hotels have pools which the kids will love. :)

Yeah, there are a ton of stores at Robinson! I love shopping out there. :goodvibes I just bought a bunch of bedding and kitchen stuff at Ikea last week. :woohoo:

And I just bought all my curtains at Target.....

Come to think of it, I don't think I would be able to function without all of those stores.

Whew! I survived Hobby Lobby!!!!!:goodvibes

Lake- do you have Hobby Lobby where you are???? If not and you are going to be driving thru Youngstown Ohio...... you MUST stop at the one there. Loads of Home interior stuff there for cheap--- good stuff too. They have pictures, paintings, framed art--- you name it, they've got it.
Oh yeah- right down the street from that Hobby Lobby is a TJ Maxx (do you have those as well?) Home Goods store. It is a Home interior mecca. I wish we had one closer here. Some of my girlfriends go on a TJ's vacation every year and hit all the ones they can within 6 hours from here. Very funny.

Check it out.

Sea--- the pics were great! It looks like you had great weather. When we were there, we were so cold and it was gloomy. Not very nice at all- very un-Californian. June Gloom is very... gloomy!;)

SHelly- what kind of plants did you get?????

Jo

Well that's great that all your hotels are free! The Comfort Inn across from the outlets is where we have the kids swimming parties. Of all the hotels out there that is the only one that will rent out the pool.

Jo

No hobby lobby here...but we have Michael's.
And No TJ Maxx...but the canadian version of the same chain is called
Winners.
We do go to TJ Maxx sometimes when we are in Michigan though.

I've never heard of home good store.... but I have shopped at Kirklands for things for the house. The picture frame in my living room is from there.

We don't quite get into Youngstown, Ohio... we kind of blitz past it on our way to Grove City!!!

So what did you buy Shelly?????

Jo

So what did you buy Shelly?????

I got some Korean Boxwood's. Had them at the other house and really liked them. Got one Crimson Pygmey Barberry - to replace one that is dying here. And some Goldthread Chamyciferous. The Goldthreads are what was directly in front of the house in the center and were way overgrown and dead in the middle. We tried to trim around it and get the dead parts out but there was just no saving it. They were just not maintained at all and got way out of control - like most things around here! So I got new ones and they will look silly for awhile until they start to grow because everything else is so big - even after we have trimmed everything way back. So we'll see. . . We need to move some things around and plant the new stuff and get some landscaping stones and go from there. . .

Lake-
Well, if you get the chance- the Hobby lobby store in Youngstown is off of the Turnpike- about 5-8 minutes or so down the street. It is very very much worth taking an extra hour to run thru there. It's like a Michael's/Kirkland's/TJ maxx all rolled in together. (only it's JUST home intereior stuff- no clothes). SERIOUSLY good. you'll spit at all of the rest of them once you've been to HL:lmao:

Mark says we always saved $ when we lived in PGH b/c there wasn't a HL down the street for me to go to.:rotfl:

Shelly- IDK any of those plants, but they sound pretty! I have no green thumb.:rotfl: Mark does my planting and weeding and watering for me. He's my lawn boy. If it were left to me, they'd all be dead.

Jo

Woo-hoo!!! I noticed a thread about it in the swamp gas forums, but I wasn't registered so I couldn't get to it! (I guess that's what I get for being a newbie there.) Very Cool!!!!

Look at your ticker! The first one is down to roughly only 6 weeks. How can you stand it???

:hyper: <----- JoBird :rotfl2:

MP's first race at Worlds in on Sunday...I'm sure my SIL will be giving birth at exactly that moment and I'll have to miss it! :headache: That's how my life goes. :sad2: Really, I'm kidding...my niece or nephew is much more important. But I'll still be disappointed if I miss the race. :guilty:

My ticker... yep- mooovin on down.:rotfl: We are all getting riled up over here. On Sat. we grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and watched the FL/Georgia game from this past season.:lovestruc I'm guessing that this Sat will be much of the same. Different game. same excitement.

Wait a minute--- I'm not registered over there on that site either. Are you sure you're looking in the right spot? :confused3 I never post there, just sort of infiltrate and read. Call me stealth.:rolleyes1

Tell your SIL that she is more than welcome to have the baby on Sunday- either right before or right after MP's race.

And then, she MUST name the baby Michael when MP "smokes the competition".:smokin:

::yes::

Oh wait ---- is it a girl?? Michaela then!:rotfl:

Hey Mayers....Just trying to catch up on everything.

Morning!~

So- where have the Moving MAYers decided to meet?

I'm having major Disney Withdrawals.
Have been for a few days.

I told Mark about the free dining and the pin code floating around out there. He told me to book a trip!!! But we can't take the kids out of school again for a long period of time. I'm so over the school schedule getting in the way of my Disney Time.:rotfl:

Maybe I should homeschool.......:rotfl2:

Anyway----

anyone know anything about President's day in Feb crowds? The kids get that Mon and Tues off.
I was thinking that if I took them out the week before that- on Wed, Thurs, Fri- we could come home on Tuesday.

Or maybe take them out the week of Presidents day- those three days. If I left late Fri night, we could come back home the following Sat.
hum. That might be better.

Which would you do?

Of course- all of this is hypothetical. None of it will probably work out.

Just trying to get the kids down there with us, and know nothing about Feb.

Jo

President's Day weekend is not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It's not nearly as bad as spring break. Yes it's a bit crowded, but not too bad as long as you're a smart planner. Rates wise, it is the start of "peak season" for resort rates.
