NC- hope Chris feels better soon. That's a long cold. These days they are all so awful.

Remember when we were kids and a cold was about two days long?


ANyway- hope he's better soon.



We saw Night at the Museum last night. I thought it was really cute. When Mark was in Dc last week- the Co. he works for rented out the Air and Space Museum for their dinner party. So that part of it was really neat for him to see.

I haven't been to DC since 8th grade- and now we are both kicking ourselves for not taking the (short) 5-ish hour drive to go there with the kids when we were in PGH.




Must have coffee. Anyone else up yet?????

Hi Mayers!

Hope you all are having a nice holiday.

We had very nice weather, in the high 70's Saturday and Sunday.

Went down to Union Station on Saturday to see the Disney's "A Christmas Carol" train cars and movie preview. It was crazy. A 3.5 hour wait! No way were we going to wait for that. Had lunch at Philippe's - the birthplace of the french dipped sandwich. It was really good food, but the wait to order was crazy too - 50 minutes to place and get our order. The line was out the door when we got there. We also walked through Olvera Street, the oldest street in LA.

Sunday was church, then washing cars and my dog. Later we went down to DLR for about 5 hours in the late afternoon. Surprisingly, at 4:15 pm we drove right into the parking structure and parked on the roof. Both DL and DCA were busy, but not crazy. We were expecting madness but glad it wasn't "holiday insane". Met up with a new person who played VMK - that was interesting - rode TSMM twice - got pretty good scores. Our friend Vivian got a new high score 385,500!

Loafing around today and relaxing. Oh yea - got preview screening tickets for UP! Going Wednesday night - can't wait to see it.

Good morning MAYers!

Anyone up yet???

What a wonderful and beautiful weekend. We didn't do a whole lot of anything, mostly just enjoyed the weather. Got into the lower 80's yesterday again! Looks like the rain they have been calling for might finally make it's way here today. . . but then again, maybe not!

Not doing much today. Maybe a little cleaning. Then I have to pick up DS7 and take him to the pediatric ophthalmologist this afternoon.

The rain is here..., but I really can't complain. We had a beautiful weekend as well. It was HOT, HOT, HOT in South Bend, freezing in Michigan City, and nice at home. We kind of had it all!

I have to take DD9 to the psyciatrist this afternoon, and then we're going to clean her room since it's not really worth it for her to go back to school for an hour.

Morning Trix!

Well actually it seems that we are finally getting some where with the house. Maybe. We withdrew our original offer about 2 weeks ago and put in a new lower offer in order to accept the offer we got on our house. So one is pending/contingent upon the other happening. We were still getting nowhere with the house we want because of the short sale and the bank being in CA. The house is listed with the same company that our house is listed with, but with a different realtor. So he is our realtor's co-worker. Well he claims that he calls the bank once a week and is getting nowhere, but didn't want to call them anymore than that and "annoy" them. Finally last week our realtor got involved (after we told her we were pulling out of everything if we don't hear anything by June 1st) and got all the info she needed and started calling the short sale/mitigation dept of this bank in CA. Come to find out that the offer in their folder was the offer that was in way before our original offer, from the other people. So needless to say, they never even saw our first offer. In the meantime that agent (our realtor's co-worker) had been telling us for 2 months that they were "working on" our offer.

So anyway, she kind of thought she would hear something back on Friday, but didn't and really expects to hear something this week. So we wait some more. . . And they won't even get into their office out there until noon here.

We went out to the house yesterday and snooped around some more. We met the next door neighbors (who are nearly an acre away!) and the woman had a WDW shirt on!! They seemed very nice and they have one son who is in DS10's grade!

Is anyone else concerned about making ADR's only 90 days out??? Or maybe some of you have already experienced this. . . RF - did you have any trouble getting what you wanted? I have been reading over on the restaurant board and it seems that it is much harder to get the ADR's that you want now. People are calling at 7:00am 90 days out and are unable to get the more popular restaurants and having to settle for times they didn't really want at other restaurants. Stupid 90 day rule! I liked 180 days, it was much better for us planners! Because not everybody had their vacation planned 180 days out there weren't as many people calling on the same day. Now that it's 90 days out most people have their plans made by then and everyone is calling at the same time for ADR's!

Morning Mayers.

I had a terrible weekend. I need to get out of that house. My mom is nowhere to be found. She took my dad's phone, wallet, keys and took off yesterday. I'm exhausted. I can't try to make a new marriage work and get on with our lives and then keep holding them together.

I am seriously at the point where I want to move out of state, just because moving across town is not far enough away from these people. I don't care if I can't find a job. I can get 2 crappy part time jobs. It's not like I'm making millions at the one that I have now.

I need help. I don't know what to do.

Sorry to be a downer, but I just don't know what to do.

We should have our deal finalized on our new house today. Why is is when a bank wants something from you..it has to be right now..but when you want something from them...it takes...FOREVER!!!!!

June 26th we will get possession.
and I am already half packed and ready to go!

Congrats Lake! Sounds like things are moving along smoothly for you finally! You have been very patient and you deserve it! We haven't gotten as far as the bank yet. . . I sure hope we don't have trouble getting financed with the banks not lending like they used to. . .Actually our new mortgage should be slightly less than the one we have now if all works out, so that shouldn't be a problem. I just hope there are no more delays if their bank ever accepts our offer!

They re-scheduled. They were in the middle of moving out, so we are going Thursday night to see it. I get it. You don't want to show a trashed house. But I am still pretty anxious.

Well, I got a call from my dad apologizing, which makes life a little bit easier until we get out of there. But at the same time, I know they will never change. I'm tired of being in the middle of all of the drama because of the reckless way that they chose to live their lives. I have never gone down that path, so it's not fair to me or especially to Bob to be in the middle of all that.

So, we're still trying to get out of there ASAP.

That is ridiculous that her coworker doesn't *need* the sale of a house that much. The people that put the offer in on your house-- they are still interested? Any more showings?

Well since she wasn't the listing agent technically she could not get involved with the bank. But she got fed up last week (probably sensing that she was going to lose that sale, the sale of my house, and the sale of our buyers house) and asked the listing agent (luckily it is listed with her company) if she could have the loan number and other info and get involved and start making the calls. He gave her all the info she needed and she got the ball rolling. He claims to have called the bank once a week for the past several months. Well the woman that my realtor is dealing with at the bank says that she has never even talked to the guy. That is very irritating. No one seems to know where the mix up was or even seems to want to find out. But the good news is that my realtor just called and has already talked to the woman at the bank in CA (she must have gotten in at 8 instead of 9!) and we should have an answer today or tomorrow!! So please say a quick prayer for me if you have time! Our offer is significantly lower than the asking price because we had to lower it based on the offer we got on our house. So yes, the people are still interested in our house and their offer still stands.
