Hi Sea!

Yes, Central Arkansas is VERY EXCITED about Kris winning! I have never voted in one of these before but I was texting my little fingers off Tuesday night and had my hubby, son, and daughter voting too. I think my husband and son only voted once each, but hey every vote counts. I heard on the news that AT&T reported that Kris had either 34 or 38 million votes from Arkansas. That is a heck of a lot of votes.

You know the 6th degree of separation theory - how they say that everyone knows everyone else in the world and that we are separated by 6 people. Well, of course, everyone here is claiming the 6th degree of separation today! There is a lot of one upping on who might be closer to knowing him. That just cracks me up! :lmao:

Well, my son, Chris, had a 1st grade teacher named Mrs. Palmer. Mrs. Palmer is Kris Allen's aunt. Anyway, she says he is just a heck of a nice kid and is exactly like you see on TV.

One of my MIL friends, has a son, who is either a friend of Kris or his brother. There were either 3 or 4 guys who all went to the auditions together. Unfortunately, MIL's friends son didn't make it. :confused3 Which I had heard this story early in the competition but wasn't watching so I didn't really pay attention. My MIL who is in her 70's, has an indoor pool. She has lots of friends that come over in the evening to swim or exercise. They get in the pool with their floaties on and move around and watch American Idol and Dancing with the stars. They were all planning a watch party for Kris in the pool and they were going to vote like crazy! (For some reason thinking about this reminds of the Ron Howard movie Cacoon!) Anyway, I just hope I am that hip and spunky when I am in my 70's! All those women just think he is a cutie!

I just picked my DS up at school and he said it was the talk of the school. Only one person there really liked Adam. A lot of the kids checked out of school to go his concert here in Little Rock last week and then drove to Conway to see him there.

I like Adam and think he was awesome with Queen and Kiss. I was just worried that he didn't have a broad enough appeal. I do think Adam has an awesome voice and I would so go see him at a Queen reunion type of concert.

Kris seemed to have a crossover factor to hit the "Disney" teenie boppers, more modern softer pop, country, etc. He just seemed to have a broader range of appeal, like appealed to grandmoms, moms and their daughters sort of thing. I loved him with Keith Urban last night. And I am not a big country fan.

AND I think the Gokey factor worked HUGE for Kris! If the Gokey fans voted, I bet they voted for Kris. :confused3 I liked Danny too!

Who knows what will become of any of these guys or Allison! :confused3 I hope they are all hugely successful!

LOL 6 degrees of separation...here is mine: I know Simon Lythgoe, one of the producers of AI.

I think more people vote on AI than they do any presidential election. Are their 38 million people in Arkansas? LOLOL!

Hi Mari!

No more shaking around here...YET! Everything is cool for now.

Yes, I did hear about Wayne Allwine yesterday. He was just inducted as a Disney legend last year:

Did you know his wife is also the voice of Minnie?

He was way too young to leave us.

Kris Allen's "I'm going to Disney World!" commercial

This is just the sweetest commercial. It shows his baby pics and he is singing "When you wish upon a Star."

I was in a dress shop this afternoon and they had sold Kris Allen's mom her dress that she wore to AI last night. I just called to tell them that is in this commercial wearing the dress!

Sea knows Simon... COOL!!!!

I'll be watching him tonight on..So you think you can dance... that's my favorite reality/talent show.

Our counter offer went well.
We declined a few items they offered and stuck our guns on the $$ issue... and I think we are officially there.
Just need to sign, get the home inspected, and we should be all done..and moving in June 27th...Yippee!!!

The kids finish school June 25th..so we'll basically leaving right after that.

Great commercial!

Wow! That's even more impressive than being in a parade! Did you get the photo with you and a bunch of characters together?

Wait, you were at DHS that day? What does that mean? I think the MAYers should hear all about it NOW!!! :hyper:

Hello MAYers!

Busy day here. I've been on the run since 9:30 this morning and just got home and have to turn around and leave shortly after 1:00. :upsidedow

Last night was DS7's school program. It went really well and he did great!

Today is the teacher appreciation lunch that the PTO puts on. So I had to go to the banquet hall and pick up all the food and go get things all set up in the teacher lounge. Then I was off to WalMart and the mall. Picked up some Subway for my lunch at WalMart!

Another beautiful sunny day here! :goodvibes It doesn't seem quite as hot as yesterday, but the day is young! We hit 89 yesterday!

Okay I am going back to read and catch up on what the MAYers have been up to last night and today. . . . .

Hey all.... Beautiful day here aswell... upper 80's... me and marissa are about to head out to meet up with my sis in law for lunch then i'm going to take marissa to the park if not too hot...

RF - can't wait to hear more of your vacation....

Will be on later......

LOL! OK! But you guys have to humor me and go read my TR when I get to this part again. :lmao:

This is a story that may be familiar to NC and Fam. ;)

Well, we were about 30 minutes early and waiting for RD on Thursday the 12th. I literally just got done telling Bob to keep his eyes open, because they would be picking a "family of the day" and I am nebby and wanted to see who they would pick. Just then a cast member named Kimberly came over to us and asked if we would like to help "open the park".:eek::eek: I smacked Bob's arm and said "OHMYFREAKINGLORDYESSSSSSSSSYESYESYESYES!!!!!"
:dance3:

So, we go into Guest Relations and Kimberly gets us some drinks, and talks to us about our trip and where we're from and the Pens (apparantly we were excited about one of the games ) She says that we are going to be part of the opening "movie" that they will be filming. She tells us that we will be getting into a car that was owned by Walt Disney personally, and that several presidents have been in. :snooty: We'll be picked up, "shoot our scene" and then will be taken down Sunset Blvd in the car, and got to choose between either RnRC or ToT to have the 1st ride of the day - ALONE. :woohoo: We chose RnRC! (Which ended up being a great choice because the rest of the day and the next day that we were at DHS, the line for RnRC was cra-a-a-zy. So that was the only ride that we had.)

Then we walk out of the building and she weaves us through the crowd and past the rope. She takes our picture in front of the hat all by ourselves, says that she's just going to keep my camera take pictures during and then meet us at RnRC. The film crew comes and does their skit, and a woman named Tootsie Something-Or-Other comes and picks us up in the car. We are in front of about 3,000 or 4,000 people at this point. It was sooo exciting! We were casted as "The Happy Couple" and we had to wait until the countdown was over and yell into the microphone "HOLLYWOOD, HERE WE COME" and then wisked us away down the street and opened the rope and the floods of people poured in.

I was so nervous about TSM because I had planned on going straight there so we could actually ride it that day. But, this was soooo much better! We arrive at RnRC. We're waved to by all the CM's with the big Mickey Hands on and then went into the sound booth. It was sooo cool being in there alone! I commented once we got out of the room that we would have no time to search for hidden Mickey's in this line, because that's usually how we spend our time in the "alley" before we get on the ride.

So, we hop in the car and we take off! The music was cutting in and out the whole time, but we didn't care! We were still so excited! When we pull in the CM's were like "Oh, NO WAY! You're not getting off that easy! We know the sound was messed up - you're going again!" :woohoo:

We take off for a 2nd ride, with sound this time and it was freaking amazing! You heard noone else screaming - it was sooo cool to be in there alone!

When we got off the ride, Kimberly was waiting for us. She gave us FP's for TSM, another set for any other ride of our choosing and told us that she was going to leave a package for us at Guest Svcs for us to pick up when we leave the park! We took some pictures with her and then went on with the rest of our day!

Later that night, when we picked up our package - it was both pictures from our rides on RnRC, an autographed 'Old Hollywood' looking signed pic of Mickey and Minnie, a certificate for Family of the Day, and Priority Seating for F! for Thursday night!

IT WAS AMAZING!
