LOL! I am totally the dude in my relationship :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Bob wants every detail of my day  And when he try's to tell me all the crap he put up with all day I'm like ::yes::

But in my head I'm thinking about what I want to watch on TV that night :happytv: or what I want to go tonight at the gym :yay:

I'm bad at that game :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

I am sort of the same way. DH always wants to tell me every detail of his day at work. And while I do try to stay interested it just doesn't always happen. . . :rolleyes1

Guys like their trips/vacations/getaways that have no demands on them. They want to get away from it all kind of routine or scheduling...they get that at home and work.

More later...

Exactly what I was trying to say yesterday. Make it more about him and what he wants. I soon learned after our first WDW trip that we were not going to be ones to open & close the parks everyday. DH works 60+ hours a week, he wants/needs to relax on his vacation. So I make sure to schedule in plenty of relaxing time and things he likes to do. He would rather spend the afternoon at DTD or the Boardwalk, those things are relaxing to him. The parks - not so much!

What kind of person is your husband?

Creative - Outgoing. Interested in new things, creates things, has creative hobbies and interests. Has lots of friends.

Analytical - Thinks in numbers, slow to decisions, likes to be considered as smart. Has about 5 friends, none of them are close.

Stoic - Stand-offish, likes to do things alone or in very small groups. Has 2 close friends. You are one of them.

Persuasive - This is your outgoing, do anything, verbal, opinionated guy, into negotiating for everything, likes competing and winning. Everyone is his close friend.

Most guys are a combination of two types, very, very few are just one type. So what does this mean? You need to realize your husband has limitations, just like you. You need to work within his personality and his level of personal comfort and space.

I hope she's okay???????
I think I have her cell #- I'll have to check and see if i still have it.

I keep looking at pics of all the DVC resorts-- and while I really do like BLT... I think I want something more, um, resort-y laid back looking, I guess. The modern-ness of BLT really doesn't do it for me. I have this one pic of OKW that someone posted on a thread and I copied it-- it's of two boats on the canal- and the resort istself is near POFQ/POR-- so it has the same look as those resorts, sort of. As a matter of fact, Mark saw that pic and thought it was POFQ.
The tropical look of it reminds me of CBR too.
I just want to sit on the balcony overlooking the canal and drink some coffee in the mornings.

I want to go NOW.:goodvibes

You still BCV??

Jo

I posted Sully a message on facebook. She is going to try to visit the thread tonight!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I can understand some of Trixie's husbands thoughts...

Guys are busy all day long, talking about work, dealing with work, dealing with problems, fixing things, breaking things, resolving issues, etc. So when they come home, they really don't want to hear about your day and your problems or concerns. They figure that you have a job and he has a job. He is finished with his job for the day now. He is worn out and talked out. Most guys say about 15,000 words a day, women say about 25,000 words a day. He has used up all of his word count for the day, you still have 10,000 to go. So how do you get around this? You have to set aside a time, a appointment to talk. Guys think in time slots. Don't hit him with 50 different things during your appointment, just 2 or 3, then setup another time slot. Give him time to think, respond and act. What you are doing here is building a way to get things done between the both of you without emotionally draining each other by having spontaneous arguments.

More to come...

My DH says my word count is 50,000 and that I exhaust him. :faint:

He also likes babes in bikinis, but doesn't like sand in his shorts. He is complex. :confused3

OK, off to pick up DD!!!

RF - Shelly: The reason why your guys are telling you all the stuff going on at work is because that is where they get their purpose in life. No guy wants to feel like he is working for nothing, or that has no goal - he wants to work for a purpose that has a benefit for him, his wife and his family. What he is telling you is this: honey, i am doing all of this for us, and we are making it happen, yea, it is hard, there are some bad times, but look, we are doing great, etc. In many ways he is trying to make you feel secure about him, that he is taking care of you and the kids, he might not verbalize it that way, but that is message he is trying to get across.

Trust me on this: he is waiting to hear your response to what he has just shared with you. He wants to know, was it worth going to work today?

These are my DH. Especially the analytical part. That boy is always thinking. About work. And if he is thinking about something else, well, he's not thinking, because he is always thinking about work.

Sulley...come on out for a visit!!!!!

That's great that you messaged her NC.

Facebook... that reminds me..I should probably check my account.
It's the one way I can really keep up with my hometown friends.

HEY MAYERS!!!!! :wave2:

Sorry I've been AWOL for such a long time....It's been a crazy busy year so far. I can't believe we're on the 5th one of these! :)

First off----Shelly, check your PM's :)

Let's see, update on Sulley's life....Still at Mission:Space, trying to get full-time either there, or at the front desk of one of the resorts. And I also applied for the management internships, so hopefully I'll hear something from that this week.

I moved in January to a friend's couch for a month, again in February to the apartment I'm in right now, and it's looking like I'll be moving one more time in June in with a friend from work.....Which would bring the grand total of moves to 6 in 18 months! Hopefully this place will stick for a while :)

I went home in March for a week visit to see my friends and family again. My dad's been having some health issues, but is on the mend now :) and I'm going to be Auntie Jessie come September, so I wanted to see everyone before Christmas came around again and all these life changes happened.

It's been busy in the parks pretty consistently since the beginning of the year. And I know we had one of the busiest Spring Break week in recent years, the week before Easter, so I've gotten to work quite a bit. I'm sad that I missed both Shelly and NC while they were here.

I try to go to the parks as much as possible, for a while in January and February we went every Monday to MK and every Tue or Wed to one of the others. Planning a parks afternoon for tomorrow, so I'll have to take some pics to post for you if we go. :)

I'm gonna try to catch up on what's going on with this thread and see what I've been missing, it looks like everyone's planning for next May? Hope you all can come and visit me at Space (or wherever I might be)

Sulley...so great to see you!!!!!:goodvibes

So glad all is going well..and congrats to you and your family...Auntie Jessie.
Glad your dad is on the mend and that you are still loving WDW....

We will definitely try and find you next May... :)

Whew! Caught all up on this thread anyway :) Y'all have been busy!

Shelly and RF~I think you're right. Next time I talk to him about it (and we are talking about it...as opposed to fighting about it) I'll ask him what he would want to do. And then see if it could be done.

We've talked about Sea World a bit, which sounds like it could be done in a day...and isn't Cocoa Beach pretty close? La Nouba is a great idea, too. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks!

I know I work for the Mouse, but I do have to give Shamu his due....Sea World can be a lot of fun. They have some very fun kid's rides (including an awesome carousel) as well as a couple grown-up coasters and such. There's a lot of interaction that can be had with the animals, including feeding stingrays, dolphins, and other animals as well as petting a lot of these too. The shows are also pretty awesome. It is definitely a one-day park though. I had a season pass to there last year that got a lot of use.

Cocoa is about an hour away, and if you've never been to the Gulf of Mexico, I'd highly recommend Clearwater for a beach day. It's about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, depending on traffic (DO NOT go the first day of Spring Break ---bad idea :) )

I'm trying to think of things we tend to do outside the realm of Disney (or in Disney, even) that are more adult-oriented.....but really my group is just a bunch of overgrown kids who all work for one of the area theme parks. We tend to go to parks and out to eat and not much else :)

Oh! Kennedy Space Center tends to be fun for everyone, and if you wanted to go to Cocoa, it could be combined into a 2-day excursion. There's a lot neat things for everyone there, the bus tour takes you through the Apollo building, out to the launch pad, and one other building. There's the NASA museum, as well as the memorial. Plus some really cool IMAX movies.

Found some pics that I could share with you...

Great pics of your life at WDW.
Good luck with the internship, that sounds amazing.
Please don't forget to let us know how that goes, or if you move locations.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say, we are always intersted and wondering how you are doing and where you are... once a mayer always a mayer.:snooty:

Sea - Well, now I just feel bad. :guilty: I guess I'll start to listen more when my DH talks....

Trix - those are great pics!!! I wish I lived that close to the water! :cloud9:

Great pics Sulley!!! Hopefully I will be able to find a job down in Orlando soon :sad2:and I can meet up with you and your friends in the parks! We'll be down there in 16 days and I'll definately look for you at M:S! :goodvibes

Good morning MAYers!

YAY :cool1: Sulley found us! Sounds like you have been quite busy! Working, moving, trips home, playing at the parks!! Congrats on becoming an aunt and I'm so glad your dad is doing better. Great pictures!

Well today is the beginning of 5 days of sunshine here!! :woohoo: Nothing much going on around here this morning. I have to go work at the school all afternoon. Then soccer tonight.

Morning!!!!

It's looking like a sunny day today here..and I'm also excited about the forecast this weekend...bring on the sun!!!:sunny:

Movie was good, Tbe kids liked it. Great visual scenes, a few scary moments for them..but tis the circle of life. A fun earth day thing to do.

Kids have a fun day at school today...it's pajama day in both their classes.
Tomorrow they have no school as it is a professional development day for the teachers.

Off to put them on the bus...be back soon.

We start at 8:20 ( which here is an early start time)...and my kids are the first stop on the bus route.

We start at 8:00. But I think the kids actually get to school around 7:45. It is very early compared to a lot of schools around here. The one we moved from 3 years ago started at 9:00.

The good news is that they are done around 2:15!
