Sea

Hi Sea!!!

I don't know. I see people post that from time to time. And someone always argues with them. I think maybe sometimes people at POR don't realize that the bus stopped at POFQ before it got there. :confused3 Who knows. And maybe they do have seperate buses when it is extremely busy.

Why don't you get a twin air mattress for Chloe? We take one with us now. DS11 loves sleeping on it!

I don't recall any covered walkways. . . I know all the moderate bus stops are shaded, which is nice!

CSR does have queen beds now. They didn't when we stayed there. I would think it would make the rooms kind of crammed. Plus they only have one sink in the bathroom area, which makes it a little difficult when everyone is trying to get ready at the same time! If there's no availability they probably have a conference going on and you are better off to avoid that!

Good luck! :goodvibes I'm sure you'll figure out what is best for your family!

I am starting to think POFQ does have it's own bus at peak season during peak hours. This is really making this resort appealing to me.

Passporter states that travel times are 10 min. to MK and EP and 15 to DHS & AK. That is actually better than travel times at Pop, if the buses come as often.

We have an air matress. DH commented last night that maybe we should take it. Do you blow it up yourself or do you take an air compressor? Do you bring your own sheets and blankets or do you get them from mousekeeping?

Oh the questions! I am sure you guys are sick of me!

Here were my travel times from POFQ/POR - once the bus left the resort it was 5 minutes to Epcot, 9 to MK & DTD, 10 to DHS, and 16 to AK. And from CBR once it leaves the resort it is 3 minutes to DHS, 5 to Epcot, 9 to DTD, and 11 to MK & AK.

So not much difference really. POFQ/POR have a boat to DTD also, but it takes probably 20+ minutes.

Have you looked at pics? I'm sure you have. My only concern for you guys at POFQ would be the pool/slide. If you plan to use it a lot. . . It is small and the slide is very short. POR & CBR definitely have better pools - and several of them! But if the pool isn't important to you then definitely go with POFQ if it appeals to you the most!

Our air mattress came with a little pump/compressor thing. We take it too. It's very easy! We take our own sheets for it and use blankets/pillows from the room.

It's been a busy afternoon here.

We are positive now that POP will be our location, as long as we can get a room there, seeing as we are coming off holiday season.
We really did love it there, just like NC and her family do, for the same reasons. Everyone is so friendly, it has it's own buses, and its so easy to get in and out of.

We know that the parks will be crowded, but we are going in knowing that..and what ever we get to do will be fine with us...since it's been 3 years since we have been there. For us the whole point is to just be there, and the fact we can take advantage of being in Orlando. The kids will not care one way or another if it is busy. After all they were only 2 and 5 the last time, so this it will be like seeing it all with brand new eyes. A new adventure. They are both older and taller to try new things.

Thanks for all the MK suggestions, looks like everyone's lists are very similar. No wonder we all get along so well. haha

You are exactly right - your kids will see the parks through new eyes. I like your attitude..."what ever we get to do will be fine with us", it really takes off the pressure of having to do everything. Sometimes, just taking it slow, allows you to absorb and notice things that you haven't notice before. Disney parks are so detailed...you will always find something new you haven't notice before.

Hi MAYers! Not much time to chat these days it seems. My mom called tonight to tell me that her best friend came home today after a week at Disney with her daughter and grandbaby. They stayed at Poly and this was dream come true trip. She suffers from diabetes and has had many close calls over the years and it was always her wish to take her grandaughter to Disney when she turned 3. I'm so happy for her. They stayed at Poly and loved it. It was a bit warmer and more crowded than she had hoped but all in all they had a magical time. *sigh* Makes me want to plan another trip so badly!

Andrew has his field day at school tomorrow. They are calling for a high near 90 :scared1: Wish me luck- I couldn't take the day off so I'm taking ALL 5 of my daycare kiddos plus Em. I'm going to need a drink by noon. :lmao: We'll stay until the first one has a tantrum and then we'll head home. :scared: Luckily school is 1/2 mile from my house.

We are just about finished with our new room project!!!! I should be able to call next Monday for final inspections and be able to use it soon! I'll try and take some pics of it tomorrow. I'm too lazy tonight.

Hope everyone is well! I love hearing about all of the planning. Anyone want to stash me in their suitcase?

Thanks SEA. I really appreciate that.
And you couldn't have said it better.
It's not about me, and rushing around. It's about my kids and the joy of just being there , the 4 of us together.

Have a fun day tomorrow with all the kids. Be sure to get a head count before you leave...;) You are a brave woman.

Glad your mom's friends had a great time at WDW and the Poly.

I hope your inspections go smoothly.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a "transporter" like in Star Trek to travel to our favorite places? No more TSA's and suitcase charges!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Morning all....

NC - i have never been to POP i have stayed at CSR, CBR and offsite at Orangelake... this is gonna be new to us but I am so excited the resort looks so fun. Marissa is sure going to love it. Plus i figured why pay the extra cost of staying at a Mod if it's only Marissa and me going.....

Kim - Good luck with all the kids today. I want to pull my hair out when i take Marissa to the mall let alone a couple of kids. You have some patience....

Sea - Everytime i see your food pics i get hungry.... yummy....

I finally started seperating cloths that I am going to take down to WDW with me... soon they will be in my luggage. Yesterday Marissa almost caught me trying to make an ADR... It's crazy that i was able to get all the ressies I wanted.... Maybe not the ideal times but at least i got in..... I'll post my adr's soon.... I have to call the cake hotline and order Marissa a bday cake for out meal at chef mickeys on her bday.....

Ok so guys i need your advice.... Marissa still thinks we are going to NC to visit a friend... the way i wanted to surprise her was not say anything until we reached MCO and just take her to the Dis store they have in the airport and let her pick out a new pin... but there is a flaw in my planning.... do we get on the monorail first.... if so then that might throw me off.... so how can I surprise her.... any ideas????? My DH said that we can just tell her on the way to the airport but then she will be too excited to sit on the plane for that long.... hmmmm...... help ideas?????

I do believe you take the monorail to the area where the DIS store is located. She might catch on. Hmmm..... I am not so good on the Disney surprises. Plus, my kids always figure it out any time I try to surprise them.

While you are flying, you could give her a little something every 1/2 hour or so. Sort of like a clue. Does she do word puzzles yet? Is she reading? Like the ones where a number = a letter. You could make her decode your clues. That would give her something to do on the plane. My kids were always like, "Mom why do you make us do school work for fun! You are so mean!" Oh, it's true. I really am the meanest mother in the world. :teacher:

Good morning Mayers!

Mari - You need to come out for food and wine festival! It is really the one of the best events at DCA.

i just tried and got a ADR for Le Cellier for lunch on the 11th... should I cancel Coral Reef (a restaurant we haven't tried) or Le Cellier (a restaurant we LOVE)

Mari- Happy 2 weeks til Disney!!!! :woohoo:

Well I truly lucked out! I only had 1 daycare kid and Em to take with me to Andrew's field day today! Someone up there sure must be on my side! One family called to let me know her youngest is possibly having a reaction to amoxicillin and broke out in some crazy rash. Poor thing. The other family called to say that Grandma and Pop Pop wanted to have them for the day. It was such a fun day for Andrew- he's going to sleep well tonight!

We went to Coral Reef our last trip and liked the atmosphere- it was really fun sitting right next to the big tank. The food was okay. It was good but not worth the high price IMO. I guess it depends on whether or not you want to try something new or if you want to stick with the familiar that you know you'll enjoy. Boy I'm no help huh?
