Hello Mayers!

Been another crazy busy week at the office.

Just landed another 2 year contract with the state of California - I have been working on this project the last 30 days. Incredible amount of paperwork to go through to make sure we are in compliance with all the state's crazy laws and licenses.

Now that we have the contract, we can move forward to purchasing the new equipment and hiring new people.

And, of course, I am going to renegotiate my salary contract and commissions. This is going to be a huge bump of income to our company and I definitely don't want to be left out of when the profits start rolling in.

Haven't had much of chance to work on our WDW trip. And it may change again and be longer because now my dad's "special friend" as we call her, wants us to stay for a couple of days with her. So now it is going to be Orlando, Williston, Cape Canaveral Fort Meyers, and maybe Ft. Lauderdale. :scared1: Maybe two weeks or more. Have to sort it all out.

Oh, and there is a family reunion in Kansas this summer as well...crazy.

So, there you have it - that is it what it is.

A couple of weeks ago I posted pictures of the empty Rivers of America at Disneyland. Every 7 years or so, they drain the river to fix up the track and clear out the junk that accumulates down there.

Here is a portion of an article in yesterday's newspaper about the recent work:

Workers find unusual items in Disneyland river
April 29th, 2010, 3:00 am · posted by Sarah Tully

Disneyland last drained its Rivers of America seven years ago, so workers found a lot of accumulated stuff when it drained the green-dyed waterway in January.

But the most unusual item by far was a computer tower, said Dan Chambers, a project manager at Disneyland. Workers are unsure how the plastic box for plugs and discs got in the water path around Tom Sawyer Island.

Here are some of the other items found:

* Half of a canoe from Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoe ride.
* Plastic swords.
* Mardi Gras beads. The items were part of Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee, a show on the Mark Twain Riverboat on the rivers in the fall.
* Hundreds of cellular phones and walkie-talkies.
* Hundreds of baby pacifiers.
* Mickey Hats.
* Sunglasses.

Chambers said there was a rumor that a bowling ball was found, but that was false.

Workers also discovered a bunch of fish, including koi, which were relocated to the Bear Creek area, another body of water. Some of those fish have now made their way to the moat around Sleeping Beauty Castle. Oysters and clam shells also accumulate in the rivers.

The eggs are carried on ducks’ feet, so fish and other creatures end up growing in the rivers, said Kim Irvine, art director for Walt Disney Imagineering in Anaheim.

When the water was last drained in 2003, crews found a toaster and full bottle of rum.

A computer??? :lmao::rotfl2:

They should be wrapping up the work in the river bed this weekend and start refilling it on Monday. The Mark Twain is being refurbed and got a new paddle wheel. I can't wait until Fantasmic! comes back!

Hello MAYers :wave: Long time no "see"!

How is everybody???

Life is keeping me busy! I worked everyday this week. I am expecting much of the same throughout the rest of the school year. We are busy with soccer and hockey too.

How is your ankle Lake?

Sorry about the car accident Huggie. I'm glad you are okay. Have a great vacation!! :cool1:

Congrats on booking your trip Mari. :goodvibes I'm so happy you and Marissa are getting to go!

The daycare looks great Kim! I bet you will be so glad when it is all finished.

So sorry to hear about Bob's job RF. :sad2: That really stinks. I know things are sure very slow at DH's work. They let 38 people go 2 weeks ago. Very sad. And very scary. Luckily he didn't get it, but you just don't seem to know what's coming anymore. He could get it on the next rounds if things don't pick up. I sure hope not, I don't want to have to cancel our November trip!!

Hi Sea! Your 2 week FL vacation sounds wonderful. :cloud9: I love the name for your dad's gf - "special friend". :rotfl:

Welcome PolynesianLily! :goodvibes Have a great trip!

JO -- ONE WEEK!!! That calls for a dancing banana dude for sure --> :banana:

10 days until my ADR's!!! :woohoo:

Tomorrow evening is my What Will You Celebrate In Home Party!! party:

Shelly - Hey ...... praying your DH's job is secure.... I know how hard things will be... and I also don't want you to cancel your trip.

hey guys has anyone ever gone in June.... i'm getting scared FL schools let out on June 6 (i heard) scary i HATE HATE HATE crowds...... But what can you do..... and I got all the ADR's I wanted which is crazy considering it's only 1 month away.... maybe that's a sign that they won't be so crowded....
