Good morning Mayers
Lake - What are you planning to do this summer?

I have a lot of plans for this summer Sea. The kids get out of school very late this year, the 29th I think. But the day they finish we are driving to the cottage that very night. We will spend Canada Day up there, with fireworks over the lake and spending 5 days with my family!

In July we have a trip to Chicago planned, as Jason will be there for work one week, so the kids and I might as well join him, and stay with him in a hotel work in paying for.:woohoo:

We hope to maybe join him again in August as well.

My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to NYC this summer as well. She is the one I went to the U2 concert with. Neither of us have been, and are both really wanting to see a show on broadway. Our list of things to see and do is getting LONGGGGGG! But we are really happy and excited abaout it.

In August I also have my 20th reunion for the summer I worked as an Ontraio Junior Forest Ranger. It has been 20 year since I have seen all the girls from my camp, and I am looking forward to seeing them all again. We are doing a weekend at a winery, which is also a hotel, in the niagara region. (kind of like Napa.)

Then ther are all the activities I have planned for the kids... soccer, and day camp at a historical park. Visiting grammy and grampy and probably a late August trip back to the cottage. And visiting my brother when my new niece or nephew is born.

Already jam packed....but I know I'll find lots of other things to still do.
Jason probably has us signed up for a golf tournament here and there as well.

Hope everyone had a very happy easter! Off to take the kids to school!

Howdy MAYers!

I made my last post on my TR :sad2: and even got a little fancy with it. I'm not as good as Sea or Shelly when it comes to making slideshows but I gave it my best!

Thanks JO! :goodvibes:hug:

He had a wonderful weekend and he took his treats to school today. And will get to enjoy another wonderful afternoon/evening outside before the rain gets here tomorrow.

I can't even believe this weather we are having. :cool1: It's so awesome to have temps in the 80's in April. It is supposed to rain Thur & Fri, but then get nice again for the weekend. Good thing, DS8's soccer season starts this weekend!

:ewok::chewy: Happy birthday to your little Jedi Shelly!!! :darth::yoda:

It's hot here today! Our thermometer reads 89 degrees....and it's only the first week of April! Andrew asked to get out the sprinkler when he got home from school.

Thanks Kim!! :goodvibes

My kids and the neighbor boy had a huge water gun battle this weekend when it was in the 80's!! :cool1: Seemed so strange for April, but they were loving it!!

Alright my MAYer experts, I need your help a little. What are the average codes/discounts in May? I'm crossing my fingers they offer the Disney Visa Kids Stay Play and Dine Free again this time next year. That would help us tremendously! Are there usually room discounts or package discounts for spring? I'm planning on full price but a discount would be GREAT!

We never got any great discounts for May. . . Just free park hoppers & more added on to our tickets. . . that was out for the general public in 2007 & 2008. But I think maybe 2009 & 2010 had better offers. . . maybe room discounts. . .I did get the kids for free offer through the Disney Visa this year, and I think it was good for May. . . JO can probably help you out more!

Hoppers would be good. Any little bit helps! We're going even without a discount. If we would have known that Visa was going to offer the Kids Free deal we would have postponed our January trip and gone next month instead. I tried talking DH into taking advantage of it and going again next month- didn't work. :rolleyes1

Morning Mayers!

Happy belated b-day to your DS Shelly!! :cool1:

Yay JO!!!!! You're so close!!!!!!!!!!

This is what we always got. Of course this year I randomly got a free CS dining pin code for May ... you know.... when we ALWAYS go EXCEPT this year. :headache:  :headache:

So, you might just get lucky! :wizard:

Woo hoooo-- uh-huh--- I'm in the 20s todaaaaaaaaay.

:cool1:

Wish the other MAYers were tagging along this year.

Kim-- we got a pin code for all year long sent thru the mail- so we chose our dates- it was 40% off the deluxes, 30% off the mods. Then I think it was after the first of the year- maybe before that(?) they released a code for room only that was 40% off good for my dates-- same as my Pin.

We still have left over "And more" part of our free PH's and More from 2007. We knew at the end of that trip that we would return so we upgraded to ten days before we used all of our days and added on the no expiry option to it. So we have the "and more" portion left.

RF-- YAY!! I AM close!! I spy banana dudes........! :woohoo:
were you able to upgrade your hotel?????popcorn::

So where did Mr. & Mrs. Sea go for 4 days???

We decided we needed some "grown up time" a few weeks ago and Lena really wanted to see "The Lion King", do some shopping at the outlets and she had spring vacation time coming up so we booked a trip!

Welcome back Sea!!! You and the Mrs. look like you had a fantabulous time in Las Vegas! Hopefully you hit it big and are treating all of us to a trip to Disney.

I've had a busy day today. I took the kids to their yearly doctor appointments and then to the book store to let them spend their gift cards from their birthdays. I found a book about Walt (The Triumph Of The American Imagination by Neal Gabler) and can't wait to read it! Then we headed to the bank where I opened a special savings account to start our Disney fund!!! :woohoo: After that we headed to the playground for a little picnic lunch by the water. I tell ya, I could get used to this spring break stuff. I miss the days of being a stay at home mom and doing as we please. Tomorrow it's back to the grind after 4 days off:sad2:.

were you able to upgrade your hotel?????popcorn::

Yep! We upgraded to CSR! :woohoo: I am *really* hoping for free dining and not just CS free dining. That was the main reason for upgrading - well, that and so that we could all be at the same hotel and that would make life easier. To only have to upgrade from the DDP to DxDP not CS to DxDP.

I am just hoping for a good code. As of right now NOTHING has been announced. :bored:

Day One:

Vegas TR...we decided to drive since it is nicer to have a car to get around town. Left home after church, around 11:30 am. stopped for lunch in Ontario, about 60 miles from L.A. then drove straight to border with a brief gas and coffee stop in Barstow. 239 miles later we walked into the hotel around 4:30 pm. Not bad!

We decided to stay at "stateline", Primm, NV, which is about 30 miles outside of Vegas. They have three hotel casinos and a huge outlet mall here. It is in the middle of nowhere in the desert. Our home for the next four days was the Primm Valley Resort, not a bad place, they are remodeling the rooms and it was clean and comfortable.

So we decided to hit outlet mall, which is connected to casino/hotel and it was very busy for an Easter Sunday. We were able to find some great bargains at Tommy Bahama, Gap, etc.

After spending about 2 hours there, we were getting hungry, so we took our stuff back to our room and headed back to the steakhouse in the casino, GP's. We both ordered the same thing, onion soup, prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes. The soup comes to the table on fire! It was really tasty. The prime rib was the best I have had in a very long time. Blackened with peppercorn, about an inch thick. It was so good. Good garlic potatoes too! We definitely liked this place and it was very reasonable.

Hit the casino and played some video poker, did good enough to pay for dinner and some of the clothes we bought, so I was a happy camper! We went to bed early cause we were going to drive in to town to have breakfast and check out the sights and The Lion King!
