Still cleaning out my garage - I swear, this is going to take months of organizing, but will be well worth it. (I keep telling myself this to stay motivated). So, here are a few more things from DL that I found.

A discounted SoCal one day passport. $20!!! Today, that ticket would cost $72.

Contempo '82 - This was a special Christian music night at DL. Orange County was the birth place of Christian Rock and DL had twice yearly events - Contmepo and Night of Joy. Knott's Berry Farm still does a annual event on New Years Eve.

Free parking too! ($14 cost park today :scared1:)
DLStuff004.jpg

Ok - how many people do you know who have one of these???
DLStuff005.jpg

There is a little story about that. After high school, I was doing professional photography for a while. I started photographing Christian bands and their concerts all over Southern and Northern California for Contemporary Christian Music magazine. Because of my work, I got special admission and backstage passes from time to time. I got to cover a special music night at DL for the magazine and got this pass. Obviously, I didn't surrender it! LOL! It is one of my favorite things.

I hope you like my little story today. Tune in next week and see what I dig out of our garage from Disneyland...

Hi Kim - I am sending you some sunshine and heat right now...it is getting really warm right now!

Hi everyone- I've been MIA for a while. Lots on my mind lately- Andrew's school sitaution. My FIL's health. Missing Disney terribly. Planning the kid's bday party this Sat. and I can't for the life of me find a place that will do a Star Wars cake and not charge me a limb to do it. You name it, it's on my mind! Plus this time change thing really messes with me. We were 10 minutes late for church yesterday and that was the 11am service! And it was waaay too dark to get up this morning. :crazy2:

Mari- I'm so sorry to hear about your family's loss. You're in my prayers.

KB- Safe travels! Can't wait to hear all about your DL adventures!

Anyone want to send some sunshine this way! These dull gray clouds are making me feel even more blah. Hey at least it's not snow! See I'm trying to think positively!

Morning MAYers!

I'm home! Fun time---
I posted a TR on my PTR if anyone is interested---

RF-- okay- wait-- how are you getting your figures of savings? Wouldn't you have to pay rack rate regardless of the resort? Forgive my not following--- I'm a bit tired this morning from travelling! :rotfl: Your whole family is staying at CSR? i hope they have availability if you want to change. yikes.

LOL. You're fine! It's confusing and I may be thinking about it wrong too. I would have to pay rack rate for the room either way - and yes my whole family is staying at CSR. My aunt, uncle, cousin and possibly his friend are staying at CSR - Me, Bob and my sister are staying at POP.

I'm just wondering since we are upgrading to the DxDP again either way - if it would be beneficial for us to stay at a Mod and only upgrade from the free DDP that they offer to DxDP (VS.) If I stay at POP, when they offer the free dining - it will only be the QS plan - so I would have to upgrade 2 levels of dining....

Does that make sense? So if it will only cost me like $250 or $300 to upgrade to a mod and then only upgrade 1 level of dining - then I will do it. But IDK if it will end up costing me the same either way.

My Disney math has been severely neglected lately.

Well, our morning started off early today.

At 4:04 am we had a 4.4 earthquake that lasted about 15 - 20 seconds long.

Here is the story:
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2010/03/4-point-4-earthquake-awakens-southern-california-no-major-damage-or-injuries-reported.html

Obviously, it woke us up - but after a while, we went back to sleep. We were too tired to be worried if there was going to be another one. LOL!

Beautiful day here today. Sunny and warm, should get up near the 80's again.

OMG Sea!! :scared1: I hadn't heard anything, I had to sub at the school for a half day this morning, so I didn't see any news. YIKES!!

Stay safe!!

Thank you Shelly! We have our flashlights and earthquake kits always ready. Unlike the weather, they are unpredictable. Fortunately, these don't happen on a daily or yearly basis. Just about every 15-20 years you get a big one. Just part of life out here...

Sea--- take cover take cover! Anything break? Please be safe. I swear-- it's sounding more and more like this old world is in the beginnings of the end.

Kim--- were you able to find your SW cake????

KB------- Haaaaaaay it's Partaaay time with the bad naners! Be safe- have a great trip, don't eat any nasty stuff and ride all the rides I missed.:lmao:

Hi Shelly!!!!

No, nothing fell down or broke thankfully. It was more of the rolling quake than the shaking kind - it felt like you were on a water bed. The boys slept through it all. Go figure! Thank you for your concern for us. - Sea

Hi Shelly!!!!

Really MAYers???

It's almost 8pm here and no one has posted today!

I hope all is well with everyone.

I didn't hear anything about an earthquake on the news- then again I don't watch the news so that's probably why. ;) Stay safe!

Here are my updates:

My FIL goes Friday for a 3rd opinion with a new DR to figure out some treatment options.

I terminated a child today. Never had to do that before. The mom was so irate yelling outside "what am I supposed to do now!" that my neighbors called to see if I was okay. Classy. Perhaps if you hadn't taken advantage of me and picked up 35 minutes late and your child wasn't an aggressive biter (now I know where his anger comes from:sad2: ) you wouldn't be in this situation. I should have followed my gut and never taken him on in the first place. Just an overall bad situation and I'm done with it. He's one of those kids that I will always worry about though.

I miss Disney terribly and need a vacation.

On the bright side-

I finally found a Star Wars cake at a nearby grocery store. :thumbsup2

My babies are looking forward to their party this Saturday.

I think I finally found a church that I feel comfortable with and they have a great children's program.

I started back to exercising again. Well, once so far this week but hey it's a start.

Hi Kim...well I thought I had posted yesterday. My post must have gone into no-mans-land on the interweb.

We are having absolutely beautiful weather here this week. It has been in the upper 70's near the 80's in Santa Monica. I had to go into downtown LA for a couple of meetings and it was up into the 90's there.

Been texting with KB, she is having a blast at DLR. Today is her Magic Morning Hours. We are looking forward to meeting up with her and her husband tomorrow afternoon at DL.

Then on Saturday, we are going back to DL to celebrate Chris' birthday. He is taking two girls from school with him to the park. I don't think he will want us around him too much...LOL!

I will keep your FIL in our prayers. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Sorry to hear about having to fire a client...sometimes you have to do that, for your own sanity and the safety of others around you.

You definitely should plan another trip to Disney!

Be sure to take pictures of the SW cake to show us. Hope the party goes well on Saturday. Congrats on finding a new church and the new exercise program.

Good morning Mayers!

Talked to my dad last night and he told me that his girlfriend's daughter is going to be do a presentation at the garden and flower show at Epcot in two or three weeks. She is taking some of her mom's ceramics and to the show to sell. I thought that was quite interesting. My dad doesn't know if they will be able to go to see the presentation, it might conflict with the shuttle launch, but they are going to try to go.

Working on a proposal today - it has been taking about 3 weeks to get all the pieces of the puzzle for this crazy thing. Have to get it done by Monday afternoon. It looks like I will finish it today however. I am going to spend most of tomorrow sprucing it up. It is a two year contract with the city of LA - I think our chances of getting are pretty good since we already have a contract that is very similar with the state of California. So that is what I have been doing - very boring.

What's going on out there in Mayerland today???

Afternoon Sea! Looks like you're stuck with just little ole me this afternoon. :upsidedow Glad KB is having a great trip so far. Your weekend sounds wonderful- 2 days at DL!!!! Can't beat that! Good luck getting through your boring proposal. What exactly is it that you do? (If you don't mind me asking.) You probably have mentioned it at some point but I may have missed it.

Where is everyone???

The weather is beautiful here. We spent most of the morning playing in the sun. I can't wait to get some flowers planted this spring. I'm so glad winter is finally done!

Hi Kim,

I am a VP of sales for a printing and graphics company.

I also own a fund raising company to help non-profits meet the financial needs for different projects they take on.

Off to lunch to clear my head! Talk to you soon.

Sad news...Fess Parker who portrayed Davy Crockett in a multitude of Disney TV shows and later as Daniel Boone for NBC TV shows, passed away today. He was at opening day of Disneyland inaugurating Frontierland with Walt Disney. What a bummer! :sad1:

Afternoon MAYers--

Sea- good luck with the proposal- sounds like a pretty set thing.:goodvibes Have fun @ DLR---- no Club 33 this year?;)
Good to hear that KB is having a fun time.:goodvibes

Kim-- glad you got the SW cake! That's great! For MCat's bday she is having a friend stay over and they are going to the movies and we'll grill steaks.
Oh and what's this about winter being over? We're supposed to have snow Saturday.

Belle is in her school production of Peter Pan- the ballet. I went to the afternoon show and I swear this school--- what they accomplish and sink money into is astounding. It was beautiful- kids flying with wires, TinkerBelle sprinkling pixie dust- the huge props including a boat and smoke machine and canons--- I sat there in tears. Seriously-- I CRIED. The songs the choir sang about not wanting to leave Neverland and never growing up---- yep. Boo hooed.:rotfl:

I think I was the only sap in the audience. Belle was a Gator and they got to chase Captain Hook around--- she did well for her first ballet.:)

Going back for final performance tonight--- very much looking forward to it.:)

Hope all is well with everyone--
anyone talked to NC lately? Isn't her cruise soon? Like next week?

Jo

LOL - Club 33!!! Nope not this time. :rolleyes1

Congrats to Belle and her play. Take lots of pics and video! Have fun tonight!

Haven't heard nothing from NC for a long time...

Hey NC -- Pop in and let us know how you are, we are starting to get worried!!

I have been crazy busy lately. I have worked 6 out of the last 7 school days! :faint: And it has been so nice here, so we've been outside every day after school! Sunny and in the mid 60's! Pretty nice for March in PA! :woohoo:
