well i just got a phone call my sister was rushed to the hospital from her doctors office earlier today because she has pnemonia... the same one that had swine flu a while ago... I'm so worried about her.... lately it's one thing or another with her.....

On a brighter note.... my DH got us Disney on Ice tickets for next saturday... the DOI: Let's Celebrate .... I can't wait.....

Mari - I hope everything is OK with your sister. I'll pray for her - be sure to keep us posted.

Wow you were all really busy here yesterday. I guess I was too, since I didn't get back to check in until late last night. And then when I did the power went out in our entire neighbourhood. It was kind of funny trying to make my way back upstairs in a VERY VERY dark house.

I think it must have come back on around 4 this morning, but Jason and I are restless. He was worried about sleeping in, and not making it to his 7:30 meeting in Michigan on time. So we were both pretty sleepless.

I so very much hope your sister is okay. Please keep us posted.

I was just talking about Disney on Ice tickets with Jason... The Princesses on Ice show is coming to Detroit in Frebruary. I am thinking about taking Emily. :)

Morning everyone-

Still fighting this cold from the bad place.
Woke up this morning to find Mark gone- which he always is - he works out first thing in the am--- but he came home about 20 minutes later and had gone to the store for some OJ for me. Awwww. so sweet. It's truly the little things that let you know someone loves you.:lovestruc

So I'm having glass after glass of OJ alternating with green tea and honey. Sounds like a great bar scene, huh???:headache:

So New Moon starts tonight. If anyone talks about it here on our thread---could y'all please give a good heads up on top of the post?
Thank ya guys---
I'm waiting until the week after T'giving to go see it- while school is in. That way I don't have to listen to all the teen girls squealing in delight everytime Edward walks on the screen.:sad2: MC is going next week when all of her friends are back and they can get together and go see it.

Monny---- Well, yep- Belle has SPD. Hers is a very mild form of it- in some areas it has gotten better thru the years. She has a very limited amount of things she will eat- and they are very quirky- like texture wise and brand specific. She also has trouble with loud noises --- like if we are in a restaurant and there are a lot of people talking around her she will hum loudly to herself to block out the outside noise. It's a defense mechanism that a lot of kids with the auditory side of SPD do.
SPD is a crazy thing that dr's are just now trying to get a grasp of. The kids can either be hyper sensitive to things or be hypo- sensitive- like your friends child. Those type of children can literally break their arm and not feel it.
There are some kids, like Belle, who smell things at a higher intensity than normal. What we may percieve as smelling good- like perfume-- she will gag and almost throw up. It's almost like a dog's sense of smell, it is that much stronger.
I am blessed that Belle's main problem is the eating issue. There are many children who cannot run or jump or climb or who have fine motor skill problems. Hers are mainly smells, hearing and eating. The hearing and smelling part has lessened thru time. I just wish she could overcome the eating issue. In time, hopefully she will. She views food as a dangerous ti]=hing- she thinks if she eats certain things that it will harm her. As she grows older though and can rationalize it, perhaps she will understand that it won't.

O---kay. Now that i've written a novel... again.....

Disney on Ice!!! That sounds like so much fun! I've never been to one of them. I always loved to ice skate when I was younger. We'd do it in Charlotte every Thanksgiving with my godparents.:cloud9: Awwww, those were fun times.

I'm off to get more OJ.

Trixie-------------------- are you any better today?

/
Shelly- those pics of Osbourne lights are breathtaking.

I can't wait for your TR!!!!

Seriously- I don't have anything to do today....... I can read and respond all day if you want me to.:lmao:

They are seriously killing me.

Do you have this style?

iDK if mcat would say it's 'old lady'--- so many of them she thinks are!:confused3

I don't know what constitutes old lady versus cool.:rotfl:

Jo

No, I don't have it (but my Villager came yesterday). To be honest, I think maybe it may be too "old lady" for her. But then again, she's the one getting a Members Only jacket for Christmas. :rolleyes1

Trixie-------------------- are you any better today?

Oy. My head hurts so bad! And today is crazy busy. Seriously...this is me! :headache:

Morning MAYers!

Sorry you aren't feeling much better Trix & JO.

Quiet rainy morning here. But it really could be much colder for mid November, so I won't complain. Yet! :rotfl: I have DS10's parent-teacher conference this afternoon. Not much else going on here. Maybe I'll work on my OKW review. . .

Robert Pattinson is on Regis and Kelly today! :rolleyes1

Trix - can you run over to my house and set my DVR? :lmao:

K, Thanks! :flower3:

I never remember to set it for stuff like this!!! Will you watch and let me know what happens? :cloud9:

I can't wait!!!!! I am so excited! :woohoo:  :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

Yes, please for the love of all things holy... please do that for me. I'm so bored I could scream.:lmao:

I thought about you guys up there when the forecast here called for snow on Monday and Tuesday. We didn't get any but dang- it was rainy and cold and I sat with my fireplace on allllll day. My gas bill is going to be $700.

Trix.... I thought that was a bit old lady- but what do I know???:rotfl:

Her Member's Only jacket....... have you seen them lately??? OmG- so very cute and everyone in LA is wearing them. They're cropped and very form fitted. I like the leather one that's about $500.:rotfl: Last year Mark and I were talking about M.O. and the colors we had in the 80's. MCat thinks that there was no better time than the 80's and wanted to see what a M.O. jacket looked like. So we pull it up online and lo and behold- they've redone them.
The craze hasn't hit the rest of the country yet- but I'm sure it won't be long- there's pics of stars all over LA wearing them.

Jo

Another sneak peak for the MAYers ~ :santa:

DisneyNovember2009722.jpg

Afternoon Mayers! I spent mine lugging 5 kids to the grocery store to replace the milk and other cold stuff we lost with the fridge doing whatever it did. We defrosted it overnight and it seems to have helped. Crossing my fingers that's all it was and we don't need a new one. :headache: We went to a Thanksgiving Story Time at the library after our grocery run- which went wonderfully! I have such great kiddos! But no matter how good they are, running around with them is tiring. :faint:

Shelly- Stop it with the sneak peeks already! You're killing me! I am so homesick for Disney. I'm off to check out you OKW review next!

Trixie- Hope you're starting to feel better- perhaps seeing New Moon will help. :goodvibes

Mari- I hope it's nothing too serious with your sister. Enjoy Disney on Ice! I wanted to go but the $$$ for it would have had to come out of the Disney piggy bank so I chose not to. :thumbsup2

Jo- What a sweet hubby you have! Hope that OJ is kicking in soon and helping you to feel better. My friend's son is definitely on the other end of the spectrum. He doesn't experience the feeling of hunger so is terribly underweight- 5 and the size of my 2yr old DD. :sad2: He lives off of pediasure and has had to have a feeding tube if it gets really bad. I hope the road gets easier for you and Belle is able to overcome her eating issues at some point. It definitely takes a great deal of patience and understanding on your end.

Just doing some Disney math here. . . Does anyone know the cost of the 2010 DDP? I am thinking it was something like $40 per adult and $11 for kids this year. . . :confused3 I don't know for sure, we got it for free.

But at that price it would be $131 per day for us. Making it $917 for 7 nights/8 days. After totaling our receipts from this trip we spent (or would have spent) a total of $921 on food, and that was for 8 nights/9 days. So the DDP is no longer a good deal for us. It would be if we were only paying the $11 for DS10, not the $40. But paying $40 a day for him and him ordering off of the kids menu just doesn't cut it. So we have to either get the DDP free or not at all.

Now I have to determine if getting free dining or 40% off the room is a better deal. I am going to say that 40% off is better if we go Deluxe, but maybe not if we go Moderate. . .

And we could definitely eat cheaper that the $927, because we would have one less night, we would cut out a few TS meals, and we would not have used $88 of "snacks" had we not had the DDP.

Oh Disney math is enough to give anyone a headache! :headache:

Shelly--
my code I got was 30% off of a mod. They might not be giving out 40% for a mod anymore. I remember the first and only time we stayed at POP I got 40% off room only. It was a sweet deal. My pin this time is only 20% off values.

When I was doing the Disney Math- there was only a difference of $75 btwn the deluxe and mods- with those codes. So obviously- no question about what to choose for us.

It is a good deal if you want deluxe.

I don't think with the tip and everything- with kids, that the DDP plan is a good deal anymore.

I would do the DxDP if adults only were going b/c I'd save $$ that way-- but not with the kids.

I'm rambling.
Again. Sorry if I'm not making sense. As if that's abnormal.:rotfl2:

Cold medicine has me reaaaaallly loopy.:upsidedow :scared:
