Sea - It looks like you guys had a spooky good time!!!!

Jo - Don't let those Mississippi State Bulldogs bully you guys. Just put the chomp on 'em and move on!!!! That is so cool that you guys stayed with ESPN and the Bulldogs. I wonder where the Gators stayed... Hmm.....

Ole Miss beat us today. :headache: We played terrible. We were not the team we were last week. I guess the boys just gave up for the season.

Hi Mayers! Checking in after a weekend in the woods roughing it! It's nice to be home!

Hope everyone is feeling better soon. Those high fevers are scary.

Sea- your pics are wonderful! I love how you got the shots with the reflections in them  The one with the Misses pretending to strangle you! Always nice to see a happy couple. :rotfl: Looks like you had a great time!

Am I going to have to seperate you two???

:rotfl2:
:lmao:
This statement made me start singing... :rolleyes1

Let me tell ya a little story about a man named Jed
The poor mountainer barely kept his family fed
Then one day he was shootin' at some food
And up from the ground came a bubblin crude

Oil that is

Black gold

Texas Tea

So maybe you'll play the lottery while there and win a million dollars!!

My library was completely checked out of this book. And there was a wait list for it. Maybe there is a school flu going around everybody's kids are off track.
Nope no lottery but we did have a nice campfire and some yummy smores so it was a fun weekend!

My library sent me an email that the book is ready for me so I'm getting it tomorrow and starting to read it ASAP!!!

NC- Congrats on being the tough parent that your son needs. As my Dad always told me growing up- *Someday, you'll understand and you may even thank me for doing it*. It took me more than 30 years and 2 kids but I DO finally understand. ;)

Uhhhh...girls....I dunno :confused3 I gave my mom ALL kinds of grief, so sorry, you are on your own! JK  Actually, I had two older sisters, and we all came out okay, so from that experience, I can confidently say to you, "This too shall pass, and you are a good, loving, caring mom, it will all turn out okay in the end." :goodvibes

Nope, we sure aren't. I personally went out this morning and stapled the entire state of California all around the edges to Oregon and Nevada, so we are securely fastened to the rest of the country now. :thumbsup2
Thanks for the supportive words. I'll be saying them to myself over and over for the next... oh... 18 years or so!

Phew, glad to hear California is safely stapled to the rest of the U.S. :lmao:

Morning MAYers! Anyone around today?

I just got done highlighting my hair and now I am working on the laundry.

It was a bit warmer for soccer yesterday than it has been for the past 3 Sunday's! We reached 60, so it wasn't so unpleasant sitting there. DS10's game didn't go so well. I forget the score. Maybe 6-0. :sad2: We were expecting it, they beat us the last time we played them. Next week is his last game and it is about 45 minutes away, but it's a team we beat the last time, so there is hope to pull out one more win! :wizard: DS8's game was awesome. They won something like 7-1. He scored 2 goals! :cheer2: That was his last game. The team presented DH with a card afterwards for coaching the season with a very generous monetary gift. We were shocked. He usually gets a coaches mug or something! :rotfl:

So I was thinking about you last night NC. At DS10's game (it was away) there were a couple of kids whose parents couldn't come, so they got a ride with the coach or somebody else. At half time DS came over and said (in front of all our teams parents) - mom do you have any money? Of course I say - why? He said there is a kid (one of the kids whose parents weren't there) on my team that forgot his water and he's really thirsty. So there's 12 kids and 2 coaches across the field with his team and DS is the only one who came over to buy this kid a bottle of water. DH and I were so proud! :goodvibes So then about 3 hours later at home when him and his brother were fighting and beating the crap out of each other I had to laugh (after I yelled at them of course) when I thought of your words - some days I think they are going to win the nobel peace prize and the next day I think they will end up in jail! :rotfl: So true!

some days I think they are going to win the nobel peace prize and the next day I think they will end up in jail! :rotfl: So true!

It was so sweet of him to want to buy a water for that other boy. :littleangel: But man can kids swing to extremes...

Around 7:00 which was game time DS settled down and actually became downright pleasant and remained that way over the weekend.

I wrote Chris a letter to help explain why we were disciplining him. It included Bible verses. Here are some of the verses incase anyone needs them.

Proverbs 22:6 (NLT) "Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it."

Colossians 3:20 (NLT) "You children must always obey your parents, for this is what pleases the Lord."

Ephesians 6:2-3 (NLT) ""Honor your father and mother." This is the first of the Ten Commandments that ends with a promise. 3 And this is the promise: If you honor your father and mother, "you will live a long life, full of blessing.""

Proverbs 29:15 (NLT) "To discipline and reprimand a child produces wisdom, but a mother is disgraced by an undisciplined child."

Proverbs 22:15 (NLT) "A youngster's heart is filled with foolishness, but discipline will drive it away."

Proverbs 29:17 (NLT) "Discipline your children, and they will give you happiness and peace of mind."

Proverbs 13:18 (NIV) "He who ignores discipline comes to poverty and shame, but whoever heeds correction is honored."

Proverbs 19:18 (NLT) "Discipline your children while there is hope. If you don't, you will ruin their lives."

I just love Proverbs!

Great bible verses NC. I love using bible verses on the kids! It really affects DS10 and helps him understand where I am coming from and listen. Some days I swear he will go into ministry, he really takes the word of the Lord seriously. DS8 - not so much. :sad2: He doesn't take too much of anything seriously yet! :confused3

Hey MAYers! Want to hear all my good news??? :sad2:

Now I have two sick girls at home. I'm pretty sure DD7's fever finally broke during the night. She still has a very stuffy nose and a horrible cough. DD10 woke me up during the night saying she didn't feel well. I just let her sleep and took her temp this morning. Sure enough, she has a fever now, too.

My dishwasher broke last evening and we need a new one (we have horrible luck with dishwashers).

And now our Halloween party (Friday) is in jeopardy because DD10 will probably be sick for 4 days like her sister was, and DH just called from work to say he didn't "feel right". This is not looking good at all. :headache: I think I'm going to start calling our guests to see how many of them may be sick and also to warn them that it may not happen. It's just not worth everyone getting sick! But everyone will be sooooo disappointed. :sad1:

 So sorry!!! Sick kids are the pits! And to have to cancel a party...

Oh Trixie. I'm sorry the girls are sick. Have you been to the doctor? Do you think it is the H1N1? Is their school closed yet? I know your area had a lot of school closures.

I hope you are all feeling great by the weekend and you can still have your party!

Helllllloooo Mighty MAYers.:goodvibes

NC---- well- my goodness. Your not backing down worked.:goodvibes He was pleasant the whole weekend. Good for you and him.:thumbsup2 I love all of those bible verses. There is nothing in the world like using the Word of God on people.
As you all know, I was a wild thing when I was young, even though my parents raised me in a very stable, Christian home- I think I've all told you before that my Dad was the Bass singer for an East coast Southern Gospel Quartet in the 1970's. Anyway- I was supremely rebellious once I hit 13 and stayed that way until I found myself being an unwed mother at 22. There were many times that my mom wrote me notes that often only had scripture written on them. She would actually write in magic marker on my mirrors (It wipes right off) scripture so that as I was getting ready to go out, it would be there and I'd be having to look at it, read it, then go out and do all the things that she hated. But she was getting it into my heart and speaking scripture over me, claiming my life for Christ without me even knowing it.

A mothers heart's desire and prayer are very powerful. I'm so glad that it is working with Chris.
Have you read any of the book?

Shelly--- how was your party? I bet you are so ready to leave!!! How exciting! And yay for the monetary donation. More $$ for the trip.

So my trip to Miss state was very....... intriguing...... fun........ and ............ popcorn::oh my gosh--------- you'll all have to wait for the rest of my TR.:lmao:

:lmao:I have to take Belle to the dr- she still has a nasty cough left from the flu- so I'll post it tomorrow.

Shelly - How was your party?

It went pretty good. I had a few cancel on me at the last minute because of being sick or having a sick kid. So I had less guests than expected. But I had $98 in outside orders before the party, so I ended up with over $300 in sales and got one booking. So that means $35 in free products and a half price item. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it actually is. I got 6 free items and then a 3 pack of cheeseballs (key lime, apple crisp, and bruschetta)for half price!

The party went good!

Yep, we are so excited and so ready to leave!! :yay: I was just saying over on my PTR how I can't believe it was the first week of soccer when I started the PTR and now we are down to the last week and Disney is almost here!! :woohoo: I knew the time would fly once school and soccer started.

Accuweather is showing the forecast for my first 3 days and it looks perfect! :goodvibes Too bad I know that is a total guess at this point and it will change everyday. :upsidedow Oh well, I can always hope it's right!!

Sorry Belle still has a cough. The boys do to. It just seems to hang on and on. Especially DS10. But no other symptoms. Thankfully. :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear all about the rest of your adventure! Hey, maybe you could finish your DL and HA TR's too. . . :flower3::rolleyes1

Jo - Thanks for the encouragement. I didn't quite realize all that you went thru as a teenager and young adult. You must feel that your mom had an impact on you or would not have posted all the things she did to help you.

I have read thru Tuesday. I just now have to read Wednesday today. Talk about off track. :upsidedow

Good news!!! I just checked the grades on-line and DS made a 107% on a biology quiz from Thursday!!!!

Also, I asked my kids to set their alarms for this morning and they did. AND they actually got up!!!! :goodvibes

I think I was just doing too much for them and they had become spoiled, entitled even.

It went pretty good. I had a few cancel on me at the last minute because of being sick or having a sick kid. So I had less guests than expected. But I had $98 in outside orders before the party, so I ended up with over $300 in sales and got one booking. So that means $35 in free products and a half price item. That sounds like a great party!!!! I am so glad it worked out. :thumbsup2

I can't believe that in 12 days you'll be in WDW!!!!! (and I won't.)

Jo - Glad you made it home safely. Can't wait to read your TR.

Shelly - Hooray for a great weekend and the gift card!

Trix - Sorry to hear about the kiddos being sick. Hope they get better soon.

NC - Never truer words written. Good job mom!

Kim - Glad you like the pic of the wife and I - don't you think it would make a good Christmas card picture? LOL!

Sea

Thank you again for your support!!! This parenting gig is really hard!

Add Ethan to the list of sick Mayers.
He's home from school today with the start of a cough and a bit of a fever.

He says he feels pretty good thpough despite those syptoms. Selfishly I am loving having him to myself at home.

But I hope he recovers quickly for himself.

Jo- I like the book. Quick read and its encouraging me to keep up what I have been doing.

Shelly - I hope the boys lose those coughs before you leave.

Trixie - Crossing my fingers here that Em doesn't catch it and I have two down as well. Pixie Dust for your girls and a quick recovery.

NC- All kids have their moments it seems... glad your having a good week with yours.

Sea- great pics... looks like sooooo much fun.
