LOL- but I don't want to pay the POLY CL price.:lmao:

It would only be around $165 more for the WL CL versus just a plain old standard Garden view room at the Poly.
With a deal, of course. If there's no deal, then there's no Poly or CL for Jo.

:rotfl2:

What kind of stuff do they serve up in the lounge? Like for breakfast? I know it's different for each one- I'm just trying to get an idea.

That safari sounds really nice.

At the WL it said you get access to the gym or something- which Mark would definitely be interested in.

Just driving myself crazy now, being in the "Hey what about..." stage of planning.

Jo

PS-- i thought Tikiman's site was down for good?

Well you DID say hypotheticals....*whistle* :)

I had no idea that CL at WL was comparable to a regular Garden View at the Poly. Wowsa...food for thought I suppose for our next trip.

Here's a link for you with some reviews of WL CL:

http://land.allears.net/reviewpost/showproduct.php?product=36

I haven't heard much about the food at the WL except that is isn't as extensive as it is at some of the other resorts.

PS-- i thought Tikiman's site was down for good?

Nope! http://www.tikimanpages.com/tiki/

Morning!!!

It's cloudy and rainy and windy too today... but as far as Emmy is concerned its a glorious day... It's her 5th birthday today! :)
How did my little girl turn 5 so quickly? :rotfl:

LOL Shelly - you just had a lot of things to say.

Apparently :lmao:
Okay- question time for the MAYers.

Hypothetically speaking, of course...

If you were to get a 40% off deal--- which would you do and why?

Poly-- garden view, DxDP, park hoppers etc.

or for $165 more--
CL WL all the other stuff stays the same?

I've sort of gotten myself stuck, thanks to my being nosey and pricing things. out.:goodvibes

Don't know if it would be worth staying CL for $165 more.:confused3

Anyone know? Tas- I know you stayed CL at the POLY. What did you love about it? What kind of good stuff did they give you?

What about WL CL with just the regular DDP? Since you get all that breakfast & snack food with CL you probably wouldn't need the DxDDP. . . And that would bring the price down. . . Just a thought!

Good Morning!

:wizard:princess:Happy Birthday to Princess Emmy!!:wizard:princess:

Sounds like she was adorable in her outfit.:lovestruc

My Princess Belle is home today, accompanying her brother on the "Is it the Swine Flu" express. Her talents today are coughing without covering her mouth, complaining loudly of a sore throat, and generalized moaning and groaning.
Please, no flash photography. It may interrupt the spray of droplets circling the house.

:sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2:

Will it ever end??????

Tas- thanks for those links!:goodvibes
Looks like I will be doing some serious serching over the next couple of weeks. Must make a decision and then hope against all hope for a code.

Rack rate- it's $275 more for WL CL than a garden view at the Poly. If there's a de44al- it's around $165 more. I think it's worth it. Maybe.
I dunno. Maybe not. I'm torn.

Shelly- that is a good option.:) I had thought of that. But we aren't necesarily breakfast people- and the main reason I'd get the DxDP is b/c we will be eating at some really expensive places- signature dining. I added up what I thought we'd order at those places and it was more expensive to pay OOP. I only had one breakfast in there and that was at Kona.

I think my ace in the hole for the WL might be that they have a gym right there. Mark has to be able to work out- one reason he hates staying at WDW values and mods.

Sigh.

WHat to do.

I'm going to go over and play on the wdw website again.:lmao: Nothing better to do than dose kids with medicine and carry around a bottle of lysol.:rotfl:

Jo

Thanks for the bday wishes Jo.
Yes I was a proud mama this morning. princess:
She was so excited about school and her birthday, and she loved her warm cozy cupcake outfit. Easy to play in, but totally said... "today is my birthday y'all!!!!"

I am so sorry Belle has joined Drew in with the flu.
Hang in there..and some get well pixie dust headed your way.:wizard:

CUTE! :goodvibes
She said "y'all".

Love it.

Precious.

Belle's teacher just emailed me (I love love love her) and said that the little boy that sits right across from Belle tested positive for the flu last night after school.

Oh boy.
Great.

And Mark is leaving to go out of the country on Fri.:headache:

And I had such a great weekend planned for the kids and I.:guilty:

Jo

JO, I suspect they will extend the 4/3 deal. Is that what you are basing your prices on? It's not near as great of a deal without the $200 gift card this time. :sad2: For the 4 of us at a moderate on the 4/3 with the $200 gift card I remember figuring it was about a 43% savings. So very similar to a 40% off room rate, also very similar to free dining. But your scenario would be different with just 2 adults, at a deluxe, with the DxDDP.

Okay, well that wasn't much help, was it? :rotfl:

Yeah, that was my thought too. CL level would be nice if you got a really sweet deal, but...I dunno...even the regular DDP was a LOT of food for us. We were only able to use up all our snack credits because the very last day of our trip was the F&W Festival  Now, if you really used the other benefits, like the safari Tas mentioned, then that would be cool. But even that isn't free -- it would be an additional cost to figure in to your total...

Belle's teacher just emailed me (I love love love her) and said that the little boy that sits right across from Belle tested positive for the flu last night after school.

Great.

Ugh...I'm so sorry Belle's sick now too :sad2: The only encouragement I can offer is what all moms already know -- "This too, shall pass."

Just a question for all of you, as moms...when I was homeschooling my kids, and one of them got chicken pox -- mind you, this was before there was a vaccine -- a couple of homeschooling moms wanted me to bring him to their house to purposely expose their kids to the chicken pox -- both families had 7 or 8 kids. I guess they figured they'd like all their kids to get it and be done with it. But sheesh -- why would you want to make your kids sick on purpose? What if they never got chicken pox? And what about the other related diseases or problems they might get later, like shingles? Maybe another mom on here can provide a different perspective? :confused3

And just one more thing, ladies...I know you already know this, but just wanted to say...all of you who have the opportunity to do so, cherish this time at home with your kids, it's such a blessing. I can tell you obviously do, it's so clear in everything you write how much you love your families :goodvibes And I know it's hard, hard work at home -- very often harder than going to an office -- believe me, I've been there, I was a stay at home mom for years. But it's sooooo much more rewarding, at least it was for me. And working hard for my family, for my kids, meant a heckuva lot more than working for a company or a paycheck. But, you guys already know that, huh? :grouphug:

I'm not sure about that chicken pox thing. That's just weird. I can't imagine ever wanting to expose my kids to anything.

Thanks for the words of encouragement KB! Staying at home is very rewarding. I am very blessed. But at times I do find myself wondering what I am missing by not working. Then I feel selfish for even thinking that! I know we are doing the right thing. Even if some family members may hint that they don't agree. If I was working there is no way DH would have been able to put in the hours that he has over the past 4 years that have led him to the position that he is in now at work. Plus I would have missed out on all that time with the kids. I can't ever imagine them taking the bus to daycare after school. So for now, I shall remain right here. At home, cooking, cleaning, volunteering, PTOing, grocery shopping, helping with homework, packing lunches, oh and being a trophy wife!!! :rotfl2: (you may have missed that conversation a month ago or so KB)

Well- I think I did hear or read about some people wanting their kids to get the Swine flu by going to a swine flu party. :confused3 Like the Chicken pox parties they used to throw. I don't know. Weird IMO.
I was trying to keep the kids separated- but now I'm like- Ehhh- I give up. It's impossible. They are both lying on our sectional playing the Wii. Both with bright red cheeks both have fevers of 101.3. I went upstairs with two spoons and two bottles of medicine-advil and delsym- a Gatorade for Drew, and a water for Belle.

Even as sick as they are- they were so cute together. Feeling too bad to argue, so they are getting along.:)

I love staying at home with them. I think sometimes that life is passing by- and then I have Mark and my Mom to remind me that i am doing what God called me to do at this time in my life.
And then I thank Him for giving them to me.:cloud9:

I am blessed beyond measure.

Jo

Martha Stewart I'm not- but Trophy wife I am.

Excuse me while I let in Rico, my pool boy and Tommy, my lawn guy, who is here to do some work on my golf cart.:rotfl2:

Kidding.

Okay- so I ran the #'s on the WDW website for the latest promomtional- if I were to go on spring break. My trip (May) would be cheaper b/c late March is considered peak, while May is regular season.
Here's what I found:

Poly
March 20-27
Garden view
DxDP
$3858

WL, concierge Level-
March 20-27
DxDp
$4017

(ETA-- both would have 7 day park hoppers)

So- only a difference of $159.

Hum.

Would it be worth it to not have a monorail, and have to go by boat to the MK and then switch at TTC to go to, say, Epcot? Which is what we would do.

The DxDp would still be best for us- b/c Mark doesn't eat dessert- but really has to have an appy--salad or soup or such. The Dp only gives dessert so we'd end up spending $ anyway OOP for that.

Thanks guys for your thoughts on this.

Jo~are you concerned at all that the Poly will seem like a let-down after you were just at such a beautiful resort in ACTUAL Hawaii? :upsidedow

Hi Mayers!

Happy Birthday to Emmy! :cool1::cake::cool1:

Acck! now Belle has it? :scared1: I hope she gets better soon.

What's going on in Mayerland???

Sea

Seeing as we're asking for advice/info about upcoming trips today...

do any of you know if Jersey week is as big a deal at Universal as it supposedly is at WDW?

Anyone?
