I love the tour update! The panels are beautiful, and the parting gift/ souvenir is so neat! I would really love to do this tour one day. Hopefully DLR stays in the semi near future!
Thanks Sarah! You would definitely do the panels justice with your photo skills!
I loved reading about the tour, from Walt's apartment to the parfumerie to your lunch (Matterhorn macaroon!). It's amazing how much history is preserved in the perfume shop alone! And your photos have me missing DL more than ever - thanks for giving such a detailed look at everything.
Hi Mr. DDW! See... that Matterhorn macaroon made an appearance in my review! I loved it!
Debbie, the CM filled in so much more information when we returned. I was glad that she happened to be working that night since she has so much history with the shop. The other CM that we spoke with after Debbie had to leave was a "floater" who fills in at various shops. She didn't have near as much information so that worked out well.
Considering you'll be doing a July WDW trip before August I will say that I am completely envious that you are able to book another summer trip!!
The print is the monorail! How perfect! I am even more excited about staying there (next trip!)
I love all these details! Now I want to go to DL more than ever! What a great tour!
As an artist I love the story of the mirror. Sad that she didn't finish but beautiful that she leaves something so lovely as part of her legacy for millions of people to enjoy.
Thank you for sharing!
Hi Alysa!

Dorthea Redmond who took over the task of finishing the panels ended up being self taught that art so she had to have been extremely talented. One interesting note from inspecting the panels on Friday up close. (The CM invited Em and I to go behind the counter and get a close up of the artwork - so incredibly awesome by the way!) You can see a distinct difference in the style for the panels. The original artist, Glendra, had a much crisper and defined style. You can see where she left off when she died. Dorthea's style was more subtle - it is hard to describe since I'm not artsy - but it was still beautiful.
Again, a fantastic upgrade- what luck! I've never really understood the appeal to BLT but seeing your room makes me totally change my mind. The room is so chic and with a theme park view to boot! I really love the color scheme too. I'll have to add a night there to my resort list.
Hi Emily! I had never wanted to stay at CR and thus BLT had zero appeal for me until I saw photos of the rooms. It is still very subtle for the Disney décor but it is there. What I appreciate about the other resorts is the complete immersion in Disney with the design. However, BLT does have some unique elements that I appreciate. It's definitely not for everyone.
I just need to do this tour! Thank you for sharing it with us! Looks like you guys had a great time.
Also, it's my first expo. I'm so excited but so nervous! I heard last year was just a mess.. As long as I get into the Alan Menken & Richard Sherman concert, I will be ecstatic. You should go though, seriously!!
Jennifer that's so awesome! An Alan Menken concert is legendary!!! I just checked out more info on the website and need to decide if I want a paid membership... not sure yet. I definitely need to read more since that is new to me.
Love the perfume shop.
I totally had watery eyes reading about Walt with the lump in his throat watching people come through the gates. What a wonderful tour Brenda for you and your daughter.
We were standing in the apartment when the CM told us that story of Walt having that lump in his throat and a tear running down his face.... of course that made me have a moment! It was a wonderful tour. Thanks for reading!
What a wonderful wonderful tour! I need to start looking into some of the event at DL as it appears Evan may be marching down Main Street in April!
Love the pin
And love the upgraded view. I really would like to stay at BLT someday. Jeff has no desire to but I'd like to at least check it out. My 2nd Tony's TR review today, now I want to try it with the family. I need to have 3 week trip just to eat everywhere I want.
Oh my gosh! What an honor that will be to be for Evan!! We see visiting marching bands often and I am thrilled for those kids.
Thanks, the pin is definitely an added bonus!
I understand that BLT/CR isn't for everyone. It is so different from some of your favorites like WL and BW. We started with a split stay the first time and only stayed a couple nights before moving to BC. We've gone back every trip since for all or part of our trips.
Ahhh Tony's! So good. I agree, 3 weeks should be about right to accommodate all the wonderful places to eat at WDW!
After a hectic month of June, I am easing my way back into the Dis, started by getting catched up on your trip report. Looks like your luck kept up at BLT! You're giving me the resort hopping bug, BLT rooms are gorgeous too. And loved your report of the Walk with Walt tour! Sounds like a great experience.
Hi there!! I'm glad to see you catching a bit of a break!
We were lucky once again at BLT.

And thanks, that tour was fantastic.
