There's A Snake In My Boot!!!! PTR April 24th-May 1, 2010 (Trip Report Started!!)

Hi there!

We will be at POP from April 21 thru the 28th...so we overlap a bit...but I don't think our plans have any coinciding days...

I have not started my pre-trip report yet but am happily reading along with yours...

Hi! Beth,
In May, Handy Manny and the Einsteins characters were right outside the Disney Playhouse in DHS next to the Animation bldg across from the Little Mermaid Show.

Last year he was the character we met; he tickled Ashton and had him laughing so hard it was too cute.
:wave2:

Great! Thanks Connie, we will for sure have Manny on our character list! Both kids like the opening song and Helen LOVES "Hop Up Jump In". It will be fun for them to see him!

Hi Beth!! Ahh...love the picture of Gabe with Pooh!! :goodvibes I'll have to look through my pictures and see what I can find to share!;)

Thanks Angie! LOVE the pics of the boys from Crystal Palace! We ate there with Gabe (only took video though) and the characters were great! They gave us a lot of time with them and I think they have the softest costumes ever!! They were so cuddly!!

Thanks! We lucked out w/the Princesses...they were all so great w/DD!! DS didnt want to have them sign his book or take pics w/them...but he ended up getting his pic taken @ 1900 PF w/all the characters!

That's funny about your DS, Gabe has actually expressed interest in seeing Cinderella and Belle! He tells me he things they are beautiful!!:lovestruc

Hi Sherry!!! Glad you are reading along with me!!!:goodvibes Bummer that none of our days seem to be overlapping at all, if your plans change let me know! We stayed at POP on our last trip and had a great time! It's such a fun resort! If you start a PTR let me know, I would LOVE to read along!!! I probably will read your Dining reviews for sure!!

Well, today I am a little bit bummed!! I just found out the Muppet Vision 3D and the Cantina will be closed during our trip!!! I LOVE the Muppets and will miss it but oh well... I am REALLY bummed about the Cantina!! It was one of our favorite CS places! It sounds like they will be expanding it quite a bit though! I am sure it will be nice when it's all finished!

Anyways, after watching our planning DVD's Gabe keeps telling me about all the characters he wants to see. My BIG question is, did Pixie Hollow replace the Princess line in Toontown?? We desperately want to see Cinderella and that was the only place that I could think of that had her other than the restaurants. Anybody know where we can meet Cindy????

I just saw that about Muppets too...I think I heard the day we planned to spend at DHS is the day it is going down...I told Skyler (my will-have-just-turned-six little princess) about it and she was not very happy about it...she just made the 41 1/2 inch mark (on our last trip she was still only 38 1/2 inches tall) so this will be the first time she is able to partake in the "big kid" rides so maybe her first trip on Star Tours will satisfy her instead!

Thankfully for us it is the park with Toy Story Mania and Lights Motors Action, so I don't think Gabe will even notice the Muppet building being closed!:rotfl:
He is also going to be experiencing the "big rides" for the first time! I can't remember how tall he is, but I want to say we measured him at 41 1/2 inches too!! What a fun trip for the two of them this year!

Bummer about the Muppets! I was looking forward to seeing that again this year with Ashton. He was so cute last year in the 3D movies. From other threads I have been on it appears that the pixies and the princesses are still there in Toontown; so, you should be OK! I wish I had a little girl with me Ashton loves Tinker Bell and Danny has a fit about it all the time (I personally don't see a problem--he is 3.5 and thinks her antics are funny :confused3: )
:wave2:

They are all there together in Toon Town. :goodvibes You should be okay. I am hoping Cantina is open when my family heads down--I would like to try it!!

I guess I don't need to decide whether or not to see the Muppets! :headache: It was on our maybe list... sorry to those of you who were really looking forward to it!

I suppose it could be worse (and still could get worse)... On some of our last few trips Space Mountain, BTMRR & POTC were closed (3 different trips)...

I'm really bummed about the Muppets, too! That was one of the only things that was there the first time I was at "MGM" in 1993. I remember it was really funny and I think Bella would enjoy it. Oh well, there is still plenty to do!

From what I hear there are two lines: one for princesses, and one for fairies. And I have also heard that the fairies can be up to 2 hours!! :scared1: Hopefully the princesses won't be as long for you! :goodvibes

Nope, both the Princesses and Fairies are still in Toontown! When we went (well, I went) to meet the fairies the princess line was virtually nonexistent because everyone wanted to see the fairies. But no worries, you'll be able to meet them all! :thumbsup2

I love the dollar section at Michael's!! It looks like you found a bunch of great stuff! I think I may head over there today and see what I can find.

Sorry to hear about the Muppets. Do you know how long it is going to be down?

Gabe LOVES 3D movies, we saw TS1 & 2 this fall in 3D so now he asks us if all movies at the theater are 3D!:rotfl: I know he is going to love Philharmagic though, and thankfully he didn't know about the Muppets so he won't know what he's missing!! I think you should take Ashton to see the Fairies Connie, Gabe is asking to see the Princesses. Dads are so goofy sometimes, Cory has the same thought as Danny!

Thank you!! Glad to know they are still there (as long as Toontown doesn't go under construction first!!) It says the Cantina is closed until late September if I read it right! Hopefully it will open up for you:):)

Yeah, in January of 2007 we missed out on Splash (my fave), but it wasn't that big of deal! At least now we don't have to work it into our plans Amy! One checked off the list!

I hope the Princess line isn't as long as the Fairies too!! I know it used to be the longest line until the Fairies came. I think Gabe would have enjoyed Muppets too Kayce! Oh well, I am sure we will be in line for Toy Story Mania an extra time instead then!!

Thanks for your info Sarah!! That's great to know! I would love the nonexistent lines:):) We plan on being back in Toontown sometime in the morning so it will be fun!

Sorry to hear about the Muppets. Do you know how long it is going to be down?

Yeah, it was great to find a few more things. Got some Easter basket stuff too! It says that Muppets will be down from April 24-May 14! So not too long, it doesn't say why it will be down this time:confused3

I heard that they are upgrading it to digital 3D. So it will probably be a lot better quality when its done. Which doesn't help those of us who aren't fortunate to go very often! :sad1:

Hi Beth! I just got all caught up again, I've been out of comission for a bit but back to see how your plans are going. LOVE the stuff from Michaels - there is one about 20 minutes from me I'll have to make a trip to for goodie bag and easter ideas - thanks for the great ideas!

Your trip is sure getting close, you must be so excited! Your days plans all look so good. Love all of the pictures of the characters - my DS3 is sitting next to me here naming off all of the characters as I was scrolling through! I asked him he he wants to see those characters when we go to Disney and he said a great big NO to all of then except Pooh. He then said he only wants to see Mickey. :sad2: I'm guess we won't have many character pictures with him in! oh well...

Looking forward to counting down the days with you!
Karen

Hey Beth, I finally made my way through your PTR so far! Looks like we may run into each other...the one that stands out is AK on the 4th although we won't be headed that way until after lunch but I hope to get there in time for the parade and hit a couple attractions before closing.

Looks like you have found some really cute things while shopping! I was so excited yesterday to find some Disney stickers at the drugstore. There were 8 sheets of 13 stickers in a pack and were only a buck! I'm bringing them in my bag and figure if I see a kid who needs a little pixie dust I can give them out. I also stocked up on glow bracelets at the dollar store and can't wait to share those too
