There's A Snake In My Boot!!!! PTR April 24th-May 1, 2010 (Trip Report Started!!)

Hi again! all caught up

you have a beautiful family! you children are so cute!
the loot you bought for their goodies bag is great and I love the minnie dress you have for Helen

I love the photo flashback...I had started that and than never scanned anymore photos...
All your plans look great! and I'm so happy to have read about T-Rex, I wanted to go there and completely forgot.
I have four ADR's I need to decide which ones to keep and which ones to cancel...but, we are keeping Donald's safari, we too are looking forward to this one! :donald: (we missed him completely when we went last year).

I spoke with a friend today, who went last year and her dgt was too short. She just put on platforms and no one questioned her once and she was able to ride everything 40" allowed. Too, bad boys don't have that option, I think Ashton is going to be just shy of 40", I hope not.

Look forward to continuing to plan along with you...
:wave2: Connie

Glad you got caught up Connie!! Thanks for all the great comments too!! Gabe is really excited for Donald's breakfast! The food sounds yummy too and it will be really slick to hop right on the Safari when we are done eating! We hope Daisy will still be there for the breakfast, we never got to see her last time! Do any of our days overlap yet??

Try cowboy boots! They worked for DD when she was just under 40".

That's a great suggestion Stacey!! Gabe actually has a pair of Toy Story ones that he got for his birthday. I know my aunt got them at Kohl's! They are so cute!!

Great MK plans!!:thumbsup2 We always try to make rope drop at MK! There is just something about being there first thing in the morning. We love it!!!:cloud9:

How exciting for Gabe to be riding BTMRR and Splash for the first time!!!:yay: My boys love those two rides!! They could ride them over and over if I'd let them.

We usually skip Stitch and the Tiki Birds too....they're just not for us!:sad2: But, we are hoping to hit almost everything else!!:thumbsup2

Glad to know you like the plans too Angie!! We have never seen the opening show yet in MK and I think it would a great start to the day and I know the kiddos would love to see a lot of the characters up by the train station! Gabe is really excited for those two rides, I am especially happy because I think Splash is my absolute favorite!!!

I am glad to help out in a small way. He posts the upcoming week on Saturdays. I am going to look at the week before and gauge things that way. I also may do a night before check for DHS and AK since I will have internet access because I will be keeping up with my grad school classes while down there.

Rose and Crown--is a favorite we are planning on going back to. We are hoping to get an ADR there when I make them next Friday. :yay: I hope you get a chance to read my PTR :) There have been some great lists posted. :goodvibes

We probably will have internet access too, I am sure either Cory or my dad may have to do a bit of work while we are there, I am also trying to convince Cory to download the Disney App for his phone so we can have all that access too!! Yes, I love reading your PTR!! Your daughter is completely adorable!!! I need to go over and read more updates!!

Couple thoughts for you to mull over:

Fantasyland expansion is not slated to break ground until this Fall. Even then they are saying they are going to try to leave everything intact for as long as possible. When my family goes down in September, things may have begun. If so, I will definitely post an update about it on the TR I am planning on doing. (I hope you are planning one as well!!)

Have you thought about renting a double stroller from Orlando Stroller Company? They rent out double joggers that have reclining seats. BippityBoo (Katie) came back from a trip recently and will rave about them!! It would give you the option of allowing both DD and DS to ride without issues. :scratchin:

Have you thought about doing a custom shirt through Etsy? There are sellers on there would would embroider and applique a shirt for you. Its a thought...

What are you doing for your countdown calendar? I am still trying to figure our calendar out. I am pretty sure we are going to start it at 30 days out too--just long enough for DD but too long I hope.:teacher:

Thanks for the info on Fantasyland. Some of the articles about it are so confusing! Yes, I am planning a TR, and I will be sure to update the best I can about any of the changes!! I have checked out the Orlando Stroller Company already! I am thinking Gabe should be okay walking most of the week, the only thought and downside to a double is the ease of getting it on and off the bus. Our Maclaren folds up really small and easy and is only 8 pounds and has a carry handle. I do check that site regularly and the prices are pretty good!!

I have heard of Etsy but never checked it out! I think I am going to take a look this afternoon, it intrigues me...:thumbsup2

I am not 100% sure about the countdown calendar. My friend/neighbor has a Cricut and has a few Disney cartridges, so I hope to make something from those!! I need to get cracking on it soon!!

Whew, 54 days and counting!! :cool1: I had a successful weekend, thanks to wdwgirl03 (thanks Sarah!!) I hopped on over to Micheal's and scoped out the dollar section!! I found a couple more things for the kids goodie bags, scored some clearance scrapbook paper, and picked up some more page protectors so I can hopefully finish our scrapbook from January of 2007 :rolleyes1

Bummer you don't have a Micheal's Keala, at least I saw the good deals you found on your Disney shirts!!:goodvibes Isn't it great we can say we are going "next month"!!!!:cool1:

Hi Beth!

The scrapbook paper is soooo cute!! I wish we had a Michael's close by.:sad2: I have so much scrapbooking to finish...between trying to organize last year's Disney pics to finish that book and then just everyday pics... I am very behind! Love the princess sweatshirt and t-shirt!! They are so adorable!:) You got some great deals!!:thumbsup2

We stopped by the Dollar store last night to pick up some ponchos for our trip and found some really cute Mickey pens and a Pixar word search/activity book. I figured that it would give the boys something else to do on the plane.

YAY! for Mickey Mail!! :dance3: We just got our planning DVD a few weeks ago and have already watched it a few times! Noah loves it!!! Hope Gabe enjoyed watching it too!!!:goodvibes

Your Dollar Store finds sound great Angie! I need to head over there soon to get ponchos too, I need to start crossing more things off my list. We enjoyed watching the DVD, the few things that were updated are nice, and it's always fun to check out all of our favorites!! I think we still rank the 2005 Happiest Celebration on Earth as our favorite though, Gabe watches that one at least once a week! He just loves "Dave" from that one!!

I am working a bit on our Disney scrapbook from 2007 and came across I think my most favorite picture from that trip! Gabe LOVED the characters and had to kiss and hug every one we saw!

gabepooh.jpg

Everyone reading, please share your favorite character picture from past trips, I would LOVE to see them!! Even you lurkers out there, join in!! Post a picture!!

haha, those are the same princess pens I got! I kept thinking those would be awesome teacher prizes.

Cute scrapbook paper too!

I almost ordered the planning DVD but I already have the last 2 or 3 of them. I can't help it when they're free.

2007: Zach wasn't too sure about the characters yet...

2009: He was much more comfortable with them last year. ;)

love the great deals you got!! cute scrapbook paper :) I have a silhouette so keep that in mind if you are looking for something...:rolleyes1

I will have to go through our pictures to see which character shots we have. Lilian has never been so there would be none of my DD. We did not take that many--I think one of the only ones is with Mulan but I will check. :goodvibes

I know I LOVE all the freebies too Sarah!! The DVD hasn't changed much since the Year of a Million Dreams one we have. Just a short update about Give a Day and the newer attractions. The kids really like the Princess pens and think it's cool that their mom has them:thumbsup2!

Great pictures Amy thanks for sharing!!! I LOVE the pic of the boys with Donald! Was that at Chef Mickey's?? I hope Helen won't be afraid of them, Gabe LOVES characters, we live near the Mall of America and the Nickelodeon characters are there and he loves giving them hugs, but Helen is a little "iffy", I hope having a character breakfast will help a bit!

Hi! Beth,
In May, Handy Manny and the Einsteins characters were right outside the Disney Playhouse in DHS next to the Animation bldg across from the Little Mermaid Show.

Last year he was the character we met; he tickled Ashton and had him laughing so hard it was too cute.
:wave2:

Hi Beth!! Ahh...love the picture of Gabe with Pooh!! :goodvibes I'll have to look through my pictures and see what I can find to share!;)

Thanks! We lucked out w/the Princesses...they were all so great w/DD!! DS didnt want to have them sign his book or take pics w/them...but he ended up getting his pic taken @ 1900 PF w/all the characters!

Now, this was last year. We got such a kick out of how Nick is looking at Piglet!! What is it about Piglet?:rotfl:

100_1653.jpg

They loved Tigger though... :love:He gave them such a big hug and joked around with both of them. It was so cute!! They couldn't stop smiling!
