There's a First Time for Everything! A Christmas In November TR

I've been off the DIS for a few days, so just catching up. The bit about the men with the big heads had me ROLLING! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Seriously! Hilarious!! I can just picture it. :lmao:

Don't you just love AK? I could walk around in there for hours and just observe the beauty of it. :cloud9:

I'm so sorry vacation isn't in the cards this year but it speaks volumes of you as parents to put her needs in front of your wants.

Vacations are fun, but an education lasts a lifetime and Im sure you guys will find something else to do and have just as much fun. Besides, maybe taking a break will help you to appreciate it even more when you get to go back!

Yay on the tax rebate and sorry you have to do the adult thing and pay off the car! BTW another reason to move to the UK is that our taxes don't seem as complicated as yours :rotfl:

It looks like you got lots done in AK and I love the caricature, so cute :goodvibes

Great pictures!

My friend used to be a tour guide in Africa so she's been on plenty of safaris and even she was impressed by the Safari at AK. They got it right!

I love a parade, and a Christmas-themed one seems dreamy!

No matter how many photopass pictures I see with baby Simba, I love them every time. Too sweet. :lovestruc

You are braver than I. I will not do Kali, even with a poncho. I hate being wet, I'm very much like a cat that way. My skin breaks out at any hint of water, even when I sweat I get a rash, it's terrible!

Rainforest Cafe looks like fun! I'm impressed that you braved that snake for an entire meal though, I'm not sure I would have been happy about that! I love the barstools though...how do I get those for my kitchen table?

The caricature is so cute. But now I want to see her "ariel themed room"! Lol. I'm sure it's beautiful! princess:

That's too bad about your skin. KRR is really fun. It's always hilarious waiting to see who is going to get it!

Rainforest Cafe is a neat experience. My DD was in shock while we were in there. She just kept starring around the room. It was a lot to take in. Very cool place though. Those bar stools are one of a kind for sure! If you had a set of those in your house, that would be very interesting! ;)

DD has a very cute room. I didn't go overboard with the Ariel stuff so that I could easily change it when she got older. I'm afraid that day may be approaching. She says she wants a butterfly theme now. :sad2: I don't think I can handle a nonDisney decor! :snooty:

Wonderful Pix and Update !!! I have never eaten at RFC or T>Rex as they are not on the DDP!!But the Theming at RFC is Awesome !!! We may have to go for a dessert !!! Would you need ressies for dessrt!!!???

I don't know if you should get a ressie just for dessert or not. I would think you could just eat at the bar for that. I've heard very good things about the volocano dessert. And from the looks of it, it is big enough for several people to share. We may try that next time. But it is so neat in there. It is worth checking out.

Like I said Tinky...we just need a $$$ tree and we would
be set!!! It would be like disney 4 times a yr or more!!!:lmao:

That would be very nice!!!! :thumbsup2 I am very thankful for the two trips I have had though. I'll be VERY happy to go back, but I know I am extremely fortunate just to go twice.

Yay for your tax return! My thoughts would've gone in the same direction as yours did... Disney vacation! But, someone has to be the practical one. So, props to your husband.

Hey! I'm practical too!!! :lmao: Just kidding. I totally agree with the decision to pay off the car. I just don't want to think about it too much! :rolleyes1

You know the men with big heads thing seems to happen to me wherever I go! What is it with that? And it doesn't help one bit that I am only 5'3"!

AK is awesome indeed! It really is a beautiful park. It's a photographers paradise. :cloud9:

I totally agree. We will still have a good time no matter where we go. I am just so thankful for the tax refund and the income I have started making keeping kids afterschool. If we were not able to pay off our car, I don't think we could have afforded the tuition. Our schools are just sooooooo bad that I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I had to send my baby there. It is such a shame! Those are the same schools that DH and I went to as kids. They were great back then, but boy what a difference 20 years can make! :sad2:

I don't need any extra incentives to pack up and move to the UK! But it's nice to hear about the taxes anyway! I don't think there is any possible way they could be more complicated! I watched a few minutes of a travel show last night on England. It just takes my breath away every time! :cloud9:

I loved the caricature. I thought he did a great job! I am always in awe of people with artistic talent since I have NONE!

Hello Dis friends! Just wanted to let you know that I will have an update up tomorrow. It has been a crazy busy weekend! Since Friday we have gone to the circus on DD's class field trip, gone to family dinners twice, watched DD cheer at her last basketball game for the season, attended two birthday parties and the cheerleading/basketball awards ceremony! I am pooped! So I have a very good excuse for not having an update posted by now! :)

I need to be in bed right now because I am barely awake, but to quote those famous Disney commercials, "I'm too excited to sleep!" We just got back from the awards ceremony and I am so proud of my DD that I just have to share this with you. DD cheers for the basketball league at a church in our community. It is a fantastic program. This is her first year cheering and we have loved participating. Anyway, they give out three trophies at the end of the season: most Christlike cheerleader, basketball player and coach. Well I could not believe it, but out of about 40 girls, my baby won the award for most Christlike cheerleader in the league!!! I was so proud that I thought my heart would explode. Winning the lottery couldn't have been better! Her coach got up and said the nicest things about her and I bawled like a baby. I am so blessed that God gave this little girl to me, and I thank Him every night for the privilege of being her mother.

Ok, enough sap. Here she is with her trophy. She was so surprised that she won.

I hope you don't mind me sharing my very proud mom moment with you! And please don't take this as me bragging because I know that would NOT be Christlike. I am not at all bragging, just very, very proud of my sweet girl. I know there were other girls there who were just as deserving to win as my DD. It had to be a very difficult choice for the coaches to make, because there were some super sweet kids in that cheering league.

Now, I'll leave you with this picture just to prove that I am working on my next update................................. A TOTALLY EMPTY MAGIC KINGDOM!!!!

You and DH surely have been blessed....Congratulations to DD:thumbsup2

What an incredible honor for all of you! Far better than winning the lottery. ::yes:: Congratulations to you all on being a family who is doing things right. :)

This was our third day at the Magic Kingdom so we didn't feel rushed to get things done. It was a relaxing, easy going day. :cloud9: We woke up to very cloudy skies and it looked like it was going to rain all day, but it never did. There was a tropical storm spinning off the coast of Florida and it was bringing in clouds and LOADS of humidity. As soon as I walked out of our room, I knew it was going to be miserably sticky that day, and it was. It was only about 80 degrees but the air felt like soup. :scared:

We forged on anyway and headed for the Magic Kingdom.

We had a 9:00 ressie for Crystal Palace, so for once, we actually got to the MK pretty early (but still no rope drop!). I was stunned to see that there was no one else around. It was so awesome, and I went crazy taking pictures. What a beautiful sight an empty Main Street is!

We took advantage of Photo Pass while the streets were empty.

I just could not believe how empty it was. That is a PP guy standing there by the castle. We got him to take a few more pictures for us since he had nothing to do.

Yep, there's that hat! From here on out, you'll be forced to look at it! :rolleyes1

I loved these poinsettia trees.

We took some pictures with the statues around the hub.

More proof that I need Disney landscapers for my pitiful yard.

I really wanted to keep taking pictures, but we had to get to breakfast.

DH kissing the hand of a princess outside her palace doors! :cutie:

I'm not sure why we had to wait because there was no one else out there and the restaurant wasn't even close to full. I slipped off the take a few more pictures while they waited to be called.

We finally got in and the characters started before we could even get anything to eat. They were very quick!

All the food was really good and the characters were great. I remember the breakfast potatoes here being outstanding.:thumbsup2

We walked around for a bit after breakfast and decided that it was just too humid to enjoy ourselves. It really was awful. So we headed back down Main Street and went back to the resort to swim.

More people were out now, but it still was not crowded at all.

Our dip in the pool was very refreshing and was about the only way to deal with that humidity. I didn't take any pictures because I wanted to swim too and couldn't watch my camera and enjoy the pool at the same time.

After our swim time, we got some dinner at the food court, then headed back to the Magic Kingdom. It was almost dark by that time so the humidity was lower (it gets dark at 5:00 in November). We went to Adventureland first and managed to do everything there without hardly any wait at all. :woohoo:

We saw this fella as soon as we entered.

As I was taking this, the camel spit on me. :lmao: You can see the water coming out of his mouth in the picture!

DD loved the tree house.

The rides in Adventureland are fun to do at night. The Jungle Cruise seems like a totally different ride after dark. Our guide was so good that we still remember his name, Skipper Adam. He was hilarious and by far the best one we have had.

We went into the Tiki Room, but none of us cared much for it.

We caught a few more minutes of Spectromagic while walking through Frontierland.

We also rode everything in Tomorrowland without waiting much at all. :thumbsup2 Seems like we waited about 20 minutes for Space Mountain, but that was it.

We got so much done to basically only have been there in the evening. The crowd levels really are fantastic in early November.

Coming up next is our last Disney park day which includes: our Grand Floridian photo session, 1900 Park Fare for dinner and MVMCP:santa:!

Congratulations to your DD on her award.:cheer2::yay:

You and DH surely have been blessed....Congratulations to DD:thumbsup2

Congrats to your DD!!! You have every right to be a very proud mommy and brag about her!!!

What an incredible honor for all of you! Far better than winning the lottery. ::yes:: Congratulations to you all on being a family who is doing things right. :)

:)congratulations to you all. Your daughter looks so proud holding her trophy and she should be:thumbsup2

Congratulations to your daughter! What a great honor and noteworthy award!! That's great!

Thank you everyone for your very nice comments! We are so very proud of her and extremely blessed to have her. She was so excited about winning and couldn't wait to tell her teachers this morning. There really is no greater award that she could have received in my eyes. She certainly wasn't the best cheerleader. She was the youngest on her team and the cheers were pretty hard for her. But that doesn't mean a thing to me. We have tried to teach her that who you are on the inside is always more important than how you look or what talents you have, even though much of this world says otherwise. I hope she continues to have a Christlike attitude as she gets older, because that will carry her farther in life than any other form of success! :)

Wow! What an awesome award for your daughter to recieve. You should be very proud and want to tell the how world...that's not bragging at all.

Just wondering what you are going to do after the flashbacks are over. I will miss the TR too much! :lovestruc

Oh congratulations to your DD, what a fantastic award to win and what an awesome trophy :thumbsup2

OMGoodness I can't get over how empty MK was :faint: How wonderful to get so much done after you've had a relaxing swimming day :goodvibes

Oh BTW I have a castle just down the road from me, just saying.......... :rotfl:

That is wonderful news about your DD. It is not bragging at all. I would want to share that news, too. You must be so proud

I think you just said it all. Proving that you are a good mom for teaching her the right values. Congrats to your family!!!:cheer2:

Aww, that's so sweet that your DD got that award. It must have made your heart melt to know that other people recognize what a sweet little girl she is!

I can't believe MK was that empty. That is compltely amazing!

Gotta love the pooh characters. Don't tell Mickey, but they're my favorite!

I had no idea it got dark so early in November in Flordia. That's great! I love the parks at night so much. Do the parks close really early then, or do you just get to enjoy that extended nighttime?

Great pictures, I'm glad you took advantage of an empty Magic Kingdom!
