There's a First Time for Everything! A Christmas In November TR

You know, as many times as I've been to HS in the last 17 years, I've never seen the Indiana Jones show. I only know of that one part of the show that I get to see on reruns of Full House and Step By Step that I just HAVE to DVR every time they are on :happytv: ...you know, when Steve/Flash (depending on which show) plays the part of Indiana Jones (I've never seen the movies, either - is that the character's name)?? :lmao:

I fail at being a child of the 80's!

I desperately need Disney landscapers for my yard -- we are so not yard work people around here.

DD made an awesome snowman! Was it really warm there today? I think we made it to 65! Such a nice change!

All of your upcoming highlights sound interesting! I love looking at Disney trip pictures!

I miss having you on the moms panel:worship:I loved the fact that someone this side of the atlantic was there *** we generally do our trips for longer than our american friends. Aw well at least you're still dis'n with the rest of us:thumbsup2
Awwww you're too sweet, fingers crossed they'll have a Brit on the panel again next year because as you say we really do do our trips differently and need different advice :thumbsup2

I would say that you won the dream of ALL dreams! I vividly remember reading your TR and thinking that you had the most amazing experience that I could possibly imagine!!!! I have never read a TR, in all the MANY TRs that I have read, that had such an awesome story. You are really one very lucky girl!!!! I know you would have loved to share it with your daughters though. That's really too bad that they missed out on that.
I am aren't I :goodvibes

You know I had already had all my questions answered by the time she joined the panel, but I still went on there just to play her video so I could hear her English accent! :lmao: I LOVE IT!!! Does that make me weird?
errr yep as that video is shocking :rotfl2: Honestly have you counted how many times I said either love or lovely? It was about half the video :rotfl2: I also sound soooo English, I think because I'm in with all those American accents. Did you ever watch the 16 ways to celebrate as that really makes me sound English :rotfl2:

Do you remember the hat in the show “Frosty the Snowman?” I was so hoping that the wind would carry our hat across town as well. I’d be more than happy to let the magician have it! :rolleyes1
Too funny :rotfl2:

Love the great way you found to continue your report! Thanks so much for sharing your fun and your memories.

I ordered five of the pendants from Rinky's ebay seller and got them in just a few days, it was incredible service!
It's pick a pearl for me next month!
:goodvibes

I would love to do this for my girls this summer. Can you PM the details of who to ebay from, what the cost is etc. etc.! Thanks:cutie:

Hey that looks really good!!! :thumbsup2 I am very impressed. I'm always hesitant to try to cook "ethnic" foods from scratch. I can cook anything "southern", but I never feel like I know enough about other types of food to try them out. You must have found a good recipe since everyone liked it. So did you try the turkey sausage? If so, did you guys like it?

We did, it was so good! Better than regular sausage, even! I think I'm a convert. :goodvibes This is a little embarrassing, since you know we just ate this on Saturday (*ahem* and for leftovers for lunch yesterday *ahem*), but we're going to our friends house tomorrow to make it again!

I did find a recipe. I always search for "easy" whatever I want to cook, and DH makes fun of me. A lot. He's always like, "You can really leave off the easy. It's okay!" But who does the cooking? So... "easy" it is. He couldn't even make tortilla dough for tacos yesterday. It's like, flour, salt, water, and shortening. You can't mess it up. But he held the baby so I could do it. :sad2: Anyway, just so you have one if you need it, I found mine HERE. But I upped the spices very generously. Could have upped them even more, had I wanted to.

And for "cajun seasoning" I used Emeril's ESSENCE Creole Seasoning without the thyme, but only because I didn't have thyme in the house and I:
a. didn't feel like running to the store
and
b. am too cheap to buy spices I don't have.

:lmao:

Since you are luckier than I and can use box mixes, you probably will have no need for all that. But, always nice to share, right? :goodvibes

This was our first trip to Hollywood Studios.

It looks like you had a great time!

We never do the stage shows. Maybe we should try some this year!

I'm happy to hear that your DD still liked playhouse disney last year! I never know how old DS will be before he outgrows this stuff.

I'm not sure how I felt about fantasmic. Mostly because I don't remember it at ALL, which I think speaks for itself. But, I was probably trying to keep my then almost 2 year old sitting down or not running around at the very least, so that probably took all my attention. We'll see if I decide to give it another chance.

Great update!

Now, as a side note...:rolleyes1

I'm in LOVE with those Cinderella carriage necklaces! So do you think I do the pick a pearl as a souvenir for DD's first trip when she's 17 months this year, or do I just wait until she's big. Part of me thinks it's sweet to do when she's a baby, but part of me wants her to enjoy doing it. Maybe I'll do it twice...

Interested in the upcoming flashbacks...YOU BET!!!
I am lovin that your keeping this going, its makes the
memories last and last, doesn't it??!!!! popcorn::

Got my carraige necklaces ordered!! They emailed me and said it was shipped already! YAY! I got one for myself too. I can't wait to surprise the girls when we go in July! It will make Epcot WS so much more fun! I want to spend a lot of time there, so it will help make them happy too.

Thanks for the great idea and link to the seller!!!!

UGH! Your pics are showing..you exceeded bandwith.....I am have to make note to myself...page 51 is where I need to start back at. LOL!

I posted yesterday, but think it got eaten up in cyber space. I have made that jambalaya mix with Turkey Sausage, too. I am glad you posted it because it has been a while and it reminded me how good it was. I plan on making it this week to:).

Do you know your 2010 dates yet? We may have to push ours up a week to the first week of Nov.

You should rent the Indiana Jones movies! They are pretty entertaining! And then after you've seen them all, watch the show at HS. I think you'll enjoy it. It was neat to see how they do all the stunts.

I desperately need Disney landscapers for my yard -- we are so not yard work people around here.

DD made an awesome snowman! Was it really warm there today? I think we made it to 65! Such a nice change!

I'm with you on the yard work. We built our house about five years ago and there is still NOTHING planted in our front yard except one pitiful tree. I love a beautifully landscaped yard but I cannot deal with the heat and humidity here in the south. I know if I plant it, it will be eaten up with weeds b/c there is no way I'm getting out there in August to pull weeds! So it's best that I just leave it a nice blank canvas!

We have had a very nice warm spell. It has been around 60 for the last 3 days, but they are forecasting snow for tomorrow! So odd!

I am aren't I :goodvibes

::yes::

:rotfl2: I didn't even notice how lovely you spoke about your love of Disney in that lovely video you made on such a lovely day while sitting at the love of my lovely life, Disney World! :lmao:

I will have to check that other video out! ;)

Too funny :rotfl2:

It would have really been funny if the wind had actually taken it away! No such luck though!

Love the great way you found to continue your report! Thanks so much for sharing your fun and your memories.

I'm desperately hanging on here, but I'm quickly running out of material! :scared1: Thanks for hanging around for the flashbacks though!

Here's the link to the ebayer I bought from:

We like it better than regular sausage too. It's not so heavy and rich. Hope your friends enjoyed it too.

Hey, easy is a good thing! I think the best recipes are the simpliest ones! And not just because I'm lazy! ;) And my DH has "selective ignorance" as well. Whenever it serves his purpose, he claims he doesn't know how! :rolleyes1

I am not opposed to making it from scratch. I may just try your recipe next time. I already have that cajun seasoning anyway. And I am just like you........... I will not buy a spice just for one recipe. They are too expensive to just sit in the cabinet!

I'd say that if you usually skip the shows and Fantasmic didn't leave an impression on you, then maybe you just aren't a show person. That's ok. Everybody enjoys different things. I love the shows and so does DH. They are one of my favorite things to do. Maybe you should give Fantasmic another try when your kids are older and you can focus better on what's going on. But you still may not care for it.

Great update!

Hmmm, that's a tough one. It would be a sweet first time thing, but she would enjoy it more when she is older. I would vote for doing it twice! You can get different peices of jewelry made each time to make the experience different.

Yay!!! I'm so glad you got one for yourself too! :woohoo: I hope you will do another TR so I can see them. I hope you have a great time and enjoy WS for me. I love it there so much!

SORRY!!!! I noticed that this morning when I checked in but I didn't have time to fix it. I got on it as soon as I got home though and it is up and running now!

Isn't it good! We prefer the trukey sausage to the regular kind. It's not so heavy.

I can hardly stand to answer the question at the end of your post!! :guilty: In fact, I can't bring myself to say it out loud so I'm going to whisper it so that it doesn't hurt so much........... I don't have any 2010 dates because we don't have another trip planned! :scared1:

Well, we skip the shows out of habit, quite honestly. I didn't like the shows when I was like, 11, or 15, or something like that, and I never went back! So I do want to try again!

And yes, I'm leaning toward, "when it doubt, do it twice" as well! (That and other excuses, such as, "she may be my only girl!" or "she's only little once!" or, "she could be our last!" or "life is short!" that sort of thing!)

Just ordered my carriage necklaces for the girls for our July trip!!! This will be a great surprise!! I even got one for me too!! Thanks for the link! :cool1: Now I am on the hunt for a new Vera backpack :scared1:!

I feel bad for asking:guilty:. I thought we were waiting until 2011, but then friends of ours in Jacksonville are having a wedding reception in the fall so I told DH there is no way I will be 2 hrs from Disney and not go. I need to try to make it a budget friendly trip. If the numbers don't add up right, we won't go.

Disney landscaping for me, too, please. Wouldn't that be the coolest thing?

Christmas Minnie is cute. Lucky girl to get to do all that traveling!

We have snow in the forecast for tomorrow, too! I want that 60 degree weather back!

It's cold again here, too, CP with flurries in the forecast. Nothing big, but cold is still cold. I liked those four days of sunshine and 40-50-60 temperatures so much better!

Awww, I am loving all the flashbacks!!! Keep em coming girl, keep em coming!!:lmao:

I just signed up so that I could post and say thank you so much for doing this trip report. I can only imagine the time it takes to do all of this.

I spent the last two evenings reading the entire thing. Your family reminds me A LOT of ours and I got teary eyed in a few places. Your DD is just beautiful too, she reminds me of Punk Brewster!
