There's a First Time for Everything! A Christmas In November TR

So how did our fancy French meal turn out?

:rotfl2: It looked yummy!

Beautiful pictures of the Magic Kingdom at night! :lovestruc

Shame on that mom from the monorail. We get disgusted at the kids' behavior, but really it sounds like the mom never taught them any better. :sad2:

Oh my gosh, that song had me in tears! No wonder you and your DH lost it!

Can't wait to hear about bounceback!

Denise

Firstly, you and your DH are not dorks!!! Or, if you are, you are in good company because I had tears just reading about it! So sweet!:goodvibes What a wonderful way to end a magical MK day! We loved Ohana too and I think it will be on my December ADR list!:thumbsup2

I sure hope that you are hinting that you get back to see some pretty lights!:3dglasses

What a roller coaster ride! The sadness of leaving Magic Kingdom for the last time on this trip, the anger at the people on the Monarail, and then the joy at Ohana'! I can't take it....Count me in among the other DISers crying like a baby about your hubby and daughter dancing to "their" song.

What a great day you had! I am dying to go back, and I just hope we have half as many magical moments as your family shared!

I think the Remy French-Mexican Fusion meal looks delicious!!! I would have scarfed it up!

Your nighttime pictures of the carousel and the teacups in motion are awesome!!! :worship:

I hate when the fairy tale has to come to an end, but there was one benefit to your reluctant and lingering walk down Main Street -- there are now fantastic Christmas shots of it for the rest of us to enjoy!

That monorail family just about beats all! I don't understand why it is so difficult for some people to parent and for some kids to behave. :confused3

What a great night at Ohana's -- I would have been a teary-eyed mess as well -- there is just something about daddies and their little girls.

Wishes on the beach -- one day I will be able to say I have done that!

OMG.. you captured the way I feel when we walk out of the MK for the last time on each trip. It stinks to have to leave.

We love O'hana too and we have 2 meals scheduled there for this summer. The first is dinner on the 4th of July so we can go see.... the fireworks from the beach!!! And the second is a breakfast with Lilo and Stitch the last morning. It is a little tradition we have to have breakfast somewhere before we leave to come home.

Your DD is so precious. I love 5 year olds. I teach Kindergarten. I would have loved to have seen that letter she wrote Tink!

:)

What a MAGICAL trip, omg, your pics are the most
BEAUTIFUL ones I have ever seen!! The castle pics
just took my breath away...I am so lovin your TR!!

Aww, what nice things for you to say! Thank you so much. The castle is so very awesome! And pictures really don't do it justice.

:rotfl2: It looked yummy!

It was pretty yummy. It wasn't fancy or French, but it was good anyway!

Oh I agree on the misbehaving kids. It was obvious that they are allowed to do whatever they want. Such a shame!

I love that song. It just boggles my mind that she chose to sing it out of all the songs out there. Kind of weird really.

Firstly, you and your DH are not dorks!!! Or, if you are, you are in good company because I had tears just reading about it! So sweet!:goodvibes What a wonderful way to end a magical MK day! We loved Ohana too and I think it will be on my December ADR list!:thumbsup2

It was a great night, tears and all. You can't go wrong with Ohana. I have read very few bad reviews on it. Can't wait to read your Christmas TR. Seems like a long way off, but it will be here before we know it!

My lips are sealed on those lights! :rolleyes1

That is the perfect description! A roller coaster ride for sure! I was thinking the same thing as I was typing up that update. Still a great night though even with the idiots and the blubbering!

I'm totally with you on the "dying to go back!" I can hardly stand it and doing this TR is just making it worse. Here's some pixie dust for your next trip so you have many, many magical moments! pixiedust:

I think the Remy French-Mexican Fusion meal looks delicious!!! I would have scarfed it up!

:laughing:We did! And there were no complaints!

Your nighttime pictures of the carousel and the teacups in motion are awesome!!! :worship:

Thank you. Don't those two rides just look beautiful at night. So magical!

I hate when the fairy tale has to come to an end, but there was one benefit to your reluctant and lingering walk down Main Street -- there are now fantastic Christmas shots of it for the rest of us to enjoy!

That is a rotten feeling. I would compare it to the feeling you have right before a visit to the gynecologist. You know you have to go, but you'd almost rather die than do it!

That monorail family just about beats all! I don't understand why it is so difficult for some people to parent and for some kids to behave. :confused3

You know, if those kids would have had a decent parent at some point in their lives, they may have turned out totally different. I am just so glad I am not their teacher. Can you just imagine what that poor man or woman has to deal with! :scared1:

What a great night at Ohana's -- I would have been a teary-eyed mess as well -- there is just something about daddies and their little girls.

You are so right. There is just nothing sweeter than a father daughter moment.

Wishes on the beach -- one day I will be able to say I have done that!

Yes, you must! Maybe while you are at the GF this summer you can check that off your list!

Yes, that is a bad feeling to walk out of there. There is just something about that last day at MK that is gut wrenching for me.

Oooohhh! Your Ohana plans sound so good! We will be double dipping on our next trip as well. One visit per trip isn't enough. DH loves it so much that he asked me one Saturday morning if we could fly to Ohana's for dinner since we could be back in just 1 1/2 hours! :lmao: Breakfast there sounds good too. We haven't tried that yet.

I agree. 5 years old is such a precious age. I taught Kindergarten my first year and loved it. Then I was forced against my will to move to 3rd! :rotfl:

I didn't even think about posting a picture of her little letter. But like I told MNDISNEYGIRL, she's only five so it didn't say much! I took a picture of it on my hand so you could see how small it is. She ran out of room for "you" on the bottom, so she just stuck it at the top! :lmao::rotfl2: Hilarious!

The little envelope she had me make.

Wow another great update!!:goodvibes

It looks like your last MK evening was so much fun. And what a way to end the evening with Ohana and fireworks from the beach. :cloud9:

Sorry about your excruciating monorail ride. Some people. :sad2:

This was a most touching, beautiful update!
Don't you just love it when parents "pay attention" to their children's behavior? Either that or they are screaming at them at the top of their lungs.:sad2:
I loved Ohanas! The food was the best. I'll have to try the fireworks from the beach one night. Never thought to do something like that-or else my commando park hopping never allowed the time.

Fantastic update!!
I love the pictures of the fireworks from the beach and of dd enjoying ohanas.
really hope you did get back to see the lights but if not guess thats the newexcuse for another trip .

Oh, wonderful update! I love the Ohana song story! I know that song all too well. It's beautiful.
Someday I am going to watch fireworks from the beach. It sounds so relaxing and no mad rush to the monorail and buses afterwards!! Maybe even while enjoying a dole whip!! MMMM!

Oh how sweet is her letter!!
You are right, pictures don't do the castle justice.
I have eaten breakfast at Ohana and really liked it. It's family style, all you can eat, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, biscuits, Mickey waffles, YUMMY Likolai (?) juice (it's got mango and guava and orange I think). Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto are there. It's good! we've done it twice!

I love your French meal, very creative :rotfl:

I love all your night time photos in the MK, the castle ones especially came out great!

Wow the monorail family sound shocking but your meal sounds fabulous even if it did make you all cry

DD thought the beach was so cool!

Cont. in next post............................

She's right. It is nice to walk out on the Poly beach and feel like you really are in a tropical paradise. :)

You can really see the whole display of fireworks better from across the water, anyway, so it's a beautiful viewing spot. :thumbsup2

Great update! The Magic Kingdom and Poly pictures were all beautiful.

We have only done 'Ohana for breakfast, but we'd sure love to do it for dinner. There's just not enough time to get in all the table service meals we want to, so we're just knocking them out one trip at a time. We'll do old favorites and add a new one or two in. This summer, we're trying new Boma and 1900 Park Fare (just Jill, Brooklynn, and me), along with an old favorite, Chef Mickey's.

LOVE the letter! Thanks for showing us. :)
When I told my oldest DD about it... mind you she is 16...she said, " Did Tinkerbell really get it?" Then she realized what she said and died laughing at herself. She got a little caught up in the moment with me. :rotfl2:

You are right I WAS behind again but now I'm all caught up again!
Ugh, those kids with the roller shoes, can't stand those things.....so glad Baylor has no interest. The just seem rude.:headache: Then the pole dancer in training.

I think your night pictures of the teacups and the carousal are stunning!

Your last evening makes me sad....
Do you ever go to the website with the live webcam on the beach at the poly? You can see the castle and the fireworks!:goodvibes

So much to comment on

The night time MK pics were stunning. You have quite an eye. Makes me want to be there NOW

The kids on the monrail-what a nightmare. Thats why I tend to be strict with my girls. If they act up at 5 can you imagine what 10 or 15 will look like-those kids were a perfct example.

I :love:Collin Raye. Saw him in concert twice. We played "In this Life" at our wedding. What a special, special momnet. I got teary just reading about it. We also had fertility issues....

O'Hana looks so yummy. We are going in May as part of a Grand Gathering. Can't wait. We also plan to watch Wishes from the beach-we are staying at the Poly.

Wonderful update!!!

Great Report!!! :thumbsup2 I am only up to page 23!!

Our upcoming trip we will be staying at POP and eating at Garden Grill...both a first for us too!! Oh and Hoop Dee Doo will be a first as well!

I am so loving the Christmas Decor! I hope to make it for that someday!

Your DD is too cute...love the modeling pics too! :cutie:

Bella is a cutie too...love the sleeping pic! :dogdance:

I absolutely LOVE those Cinderella Carriage Pendants ...great find!

I hope to catch up on the rest of the report this week!! :goodvibes

Sorry about your excruciating monorail ride. Some people. :sad2:

It was a fantastic night, even with the monorail folks. I'm usually not shocked by people's behavior. I've seen some crazy stuff being a teacher. But I have to say that really took the cake!

This was a most touching, beautiful update!
Don't you just love it when parents "pay attention" to their children's behavior? Either that or they are screaming at them at the top of their lungs.:sad2:

Yes, some people's idea of parenting is mind boggling to me.

Ohana's is yum, yum, yum! The only thing better is Oahana's and fireworks for dessert! You must watch them from the beach sometime. Really a beautiful thing!

Fantastic update!!
I love the pictures of the fireworks from the beach and of dd enjoying ohanas.
really hope you did get back to see the lights but if not guess thats the newexcuse for another trip .

That would be a great excuse for another trip wouldn't it. Hmmm, we'll have to see about that.:rolleyes1

DD had a blast at Ohana's. They do a great job of making it fun for the kids even though it is a more adult like place.

MMMM!

It is a very beautiful song. I just couldn't believe she chose to sing it! It was like a blubbering conspiracy against me on this trip!

Fireworks on the beach are wonderful for that very reason. So relaxing and no bus madness afterwards! And a dole whip would be a nice touch wouldn't it! :thumbsup2

Breakfast sounds very yummy! Do they have that Tonga Toast that everyone raves about at the breakfast there? I know they serve it at Kona but I was just wondering if Ohana's has it too. I'd like to try it.

I love your French meal, very creative :rotfl:

I love all your night time photos in the MK, the castle ones especially came out great!

Wow the monorail family sound shocking but your meal sounds fabulous even if it did make you all cry

Thank you! I loved strolling through MK after dark. :cloud9:

Shocking indeed. I have never been around people who acted that inappropriate before. It was a very uncomfortable situation. :scared:

Ohana's is so so good! And what fun we had there. I know I told all of you that I wasn't a weepy person at the beginning of this report. You must all think I lied to you about that! Those things just don't happen on a normal day, but those moments at Disney always get me!

She's right. It is nice to walk out on the Poly beach and feel like you really are in a tropical paradise. :)

::yes::

:beach:

You can really see the whole display of fireworks better from across the water, anyway, so it's a beautiful viewing spot. :thumbsup2

I agree. It's so much more relaxing too without the herds of people after it's over.

I know what you mean. We have had the free dining two years in a row so that means we have tried about 20 or so Disney restaurants and it still is never enough credits. So many places, so little time! You really need to make the Ohana dinner a priority. Out of all those 20 places we've tried, it is hands down the best food. And I really think the guys in your group would LOVE it, especially if they are big meat eaters like my DH. The breakfast sounds good too though and I want to try that next time! I think you will enjoy Boma and Park Fare. We really liked both of those and the characters at Park Fare are great!

:)

LOVE the letter! Thanks for showing us. :)
When I told my oldest DD about it... mind you she is 16...she said, " Did Tinkerbell really get it?" Then she realized what she said and died laughing at herself. She got a little caught up in the moment with me. :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Tell her that's ok. I sometime confuse fantasy and reality when it comes to Disney too! :lmao: That's the whole fun in it!

You are right I WAS behind again but now I'm all caught up again!
Ugh, those kids with the roller shoes, can't stand those things.....so glad Baylor has no interest. The just seem rude.:headache: Then the pole dancer in training.

That was one interesting monorail ride for sure. I really feel sorry for the kids when I think back on it, because it was obvious that they needed some attention and were not getting it.

I will have to check out that web cam thing. Is there a link for it? I'll google it and see what I can find. I'd love to see the show from time to time to hold me over until I can go back.

Stay tuned though. This was just our last day at MK, but we have 3 more days to our trip. :thumbsup2

The night time MK pics were stunning. You have quite an eye. Makes me want to be there NOW

Well thank you! I love MK and the countries at Epcot at night. So, So pretty! And I want to be there now really bad too!

The kids on the monrail-what a nightmare. Thats why I tend to be strict with my girls. If they act up at 5 can you imagine what 10 or 15 will look like-those kids were a perfct example.

I'm strict with my DD too. I want people to enjoy being around her, not want to hide when they see her coming. Such a shame that people don't take their parenting seriously. It the most important job anyone ever has.

I :love:Collin Raye. Saw him in concert twice. We played "In this Life" at our wedding. What a special, special momnet. I got teary just reading about it. We also had fertility issues....

Aww, I bet that was beautiful played at your wedding! What a great song for that! I wold have cried like a baby if I had been there. Such a beautiful song.

So sorry to hear you had fertility problems too. But look how blessed we both were in the end! You ended up with two precious girls! We ended up with one, that sometimes has the energy of two! At the time it was very difficult to endure, but I am so thankful for my infertility now. I think it has made me a better mother and I know it makes me appreciate my DD so much more. It reminds me of the song by Garth Brooks called "Unanswered Prayers". How true it is that some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers. I learned so much from that experience and it was surely used for good in my life! :littleangel:

O'Hana looks so yummy. We are going in May as part of a Grand Gathering. Can't wait. We also plan to watch Wishes from the beach-we are staying at the Poly.

Wonderful update!!!

That sounds fantastic! Staying at the Poly.......... very NICE! :cloud9: I'd love to stay there someday!

::yes:: You've gotta see Disney at Christmas. A must do for sure. There's just nothing like it!

Your DD is too cute...love the modeling pics too! :cutie:

Bella is a cutie too...love the sleeping pic! :dogdance:
